Saiki has some nice little growls here, she was PUMPED for this show. Akane's flutter kicks are off the charts, as usual. Why does no one give Akane her due as moderator during "the duel"? Her note placement is absolute perfection. I LOVE how Kanami has that little twinkle in her eye and smile as she watches Saiki sing to the crowd, it's so kawaii. These girls are just soooo good.
Band-Maid does everything right: song writing, lyrics, performance, showmanship, singing. But they set stretch goals for themselves and every time you see them perform, they're just that little bit better than the last time. This band never stops evolving.
And after he discovers those facts he can start to explore the amazing Band-Maid 'lore', like their awesome 'April Fool's Joke' phase, Their Acoustic side road, that time they "kicked Miku out of the band' and told her to go start her own band, How they met, their true connection with the fans, both live and online!
@@JohnnyFoxtrotshow Not very many 'not great' Band-Maid songs. There are a couple that I skip many times, not because they are bad songs, but they make me cry too much ;-) (songs created especially for their long time fans, what put aside 'flash' to concentrate on 'love' that first time listeners might listen to and not understanding the context, MIGHT think it's a fairly good, but nothing special ... but if you know what you're listening to, you bawl your eyes out!!) Everything else is a Rock & Roll Mozart (Kanami, lead guitarist, main music writer, arranger, Sensi) banger masterpiece (even the ballads ... actually IMO, especially the ballads (they take all their incredible skills and put them to work painting a mood-scape!
An example of how they improve every time you see them is their "Dice -HATE?" medley. I saw them twice last May and they had been doing "Dice" and "Hate?" as unconnected songs. But when they came back to the States from Japan we learned that they had combined "Dice" and "HATE?" into a medley with the awesome Bass-guitar duel we all love. The duel had been introduced at the last two shows of the July leg of the Japan tour in Shizuoka and Kawasaki. and when they came back to the US in August, they introduced the duel at the Lollapalooza Aftershow and the next day at Lollapalooza. Both shows were totally on fire. You have to watch the Lollapalooza set: the intensity in Kanami's eyes as she plays against Misa is incredible.
Great reaction Johnny! Kanami doesn't play guitar so much as she plays the amp. Misa as well. Great arena rock acts have to understand that end of the instrument and how to resonate in the venue, and Band-Maid is top tier in this way. I am dying to see them in a large venue, and hoping they can pull that off someday in the USA.
That's my dream too Mike, hope it's soon. I saw them LIVE in Charlotte in a little dive venue with an 18" high stage not worthy of them, but they just smile and give us their all.
You won't be saying definitely my new favorite after 7 or 8 songs. But you'll probably will be saying it after each and every song. You'll see that eventually you can't have a favorite
I love the first official live of this song from 2019 or was it 2017 dsorry not sure but it's fire and better than this one yeah I know but hey people forget about the duel in take me higher live
