Hi Joyel, I’m a 4c dense hair girlie and my fav style is a wash and go. Just wanted to say that I use my revair to stretch my wash and gos and it doesn’t disturb my definition. The elongation it provides makes it possible for me to wear wash and gos most of the time without it getting to tangled.
Love the density! 🥰 Just a couple of suggestions. Detangle during the conditioning phase and ditch the brush when styling. Try smoothing the mousse downward with your fingers/hands only. Not shingling though, that takes far too long 😂.
I have dense natural hair too so I use Camille Rose honey hydrate with the Deux and it really defines my curls. Also when the bottle says shake your hair, they mean shake your head which will shake your hair like a rock star. That will cause the curls to clump (stay together) and keep your curls defined.
Your hair is just so beautiful! I do have a suggestion. I have almost the same curl pattern as yours, but not the density. My last wash day I used the Kinky Curly Knot Today leave-in conditioner with Wet Line gel. My hair came out perfectly defined and very soft after scrunching out the crunch with a bit of oil. I also didn't have any flakes. Maybe it will work for you too.
Smaller sections might be better since your hair is so thick, so it’s not in clumps like that. Also, The more I used the doux the curler and tighter my curls got, so that’s a plus
I love how your hair looks, if you want a firmer hold, use on clean, conditioned dry hair. Also, after day 1 reapply all over again on dry hair. No flaking and curls galore. Please try it. The bottle actually says for a firmer hold, use on dry hair. It’s a game changer for our curl pattern.
Joy-el, your hair is so gorgeous, I'm trying grow my hair out and so far, it's coming along nicely, I have very short coily hair, I just need to be patient because I'm waiting for my big hair crown to grow out. I noticed a change in my hair when I use BOND REPAIR products, I tried K18 for the first time yesterday and I noticed how my coils popped and looked much neater and not as fuzzy. I use the same exact foam Doux Foam. I love it. I'm watching your videos and learning a lot as I take this natural hair journey and I'm loving it. I love my hair. I travel a lot for work and one day a strange woman yelled out real loud as I was boarding the plane " I LOVE YOUR HAIR" I smiled and said, "Thank you" The most interesting thing when I look at my hair and my hair strands, I say the same thing. " I LOVE MY HAIR"... God knew what he was doing when he created us differently. For some reason We stand out!! We are unique and wonderfully made. YES!!!!! Thank you for showing us how beautiful our hair is and can be. I noticed I get stared at a lot by people, I believe it's because they had never seen our hair like this, my hair is Awesome!! thank you... OH! I always have strangers ask to touch my hair and since COVID-19 My Answer is NO! Only because I have no idea where other people hands been. I always think GERMS, GERMS, GERMS! ... ANYWAY, thank you for your videos. You are helping me a lot. Have a wonderful day. God Bless you.
I can’t remember if I’m subscribed to this channel or not I’ve been watching this young lady for several years and I just so happy to come across one of her videos today girl your hair looks amazing. It looks so much better than it did when we first started out, I’m going to go through and watch all of your videos because I struggle with the Arizona son and my natural hair. You are absolutely gorgeous. Thank you so much for posting. ❤
I really like that mousse & our hair is similar, so I may try it like you have. I want to wear my hair out for a change, too. Lol. I usually wear it in twists.
GURL! WHHHYYYYYY ARE NOT "SUPERSTAR" FAMOUS WITH ALL THAT GORGEOUS HAIR????!!!!!. (no homo🤣) I just had to comment on how awesome your natural hair is. We get so much hate for our hair, so I just want to acknowledge you and your natural beautiful hair.🙏
Very cute! Do you think using the Revair has loosened your curl pattern a bit? Was your hair stretched and dry before you applied the mousse? We have a similar texture/length and my left side is the same compared to the right. It's also a looser texture than my right which is why I think it grows that way.
Your hair is so beautiful!!! So are you!!! I LOVE your choice to gow your hair out! 💕❤️ And it makes such pretty volume!!! OM Gosh! I could watch you all day!! And thank you so much for showing us how you style it❤️❤️❤️
i had watched some of your videos around the pandemic and forgot to subscribe. you just randomly popped into my head and i came to find you and holy sheesh your hair looks so amazing. there was this one video with you and your mom that inspired me and my mom to go on our hair journey together. so happy to see you doing well and your hair thriving. xoxo. subbed now too btw!
Hi Joyel. I hit a snag in my hair journey so a few weeks ago I went to the salon and got a silk press. Long story short, I was expressing to her discomfort while she was pressing my hair, but she in turn made fun of me, and was gaslighting me and blamed me for my discomfort and the reactions to the discomfort. When I went to wash my hair they were sections of it. They did not revert. I went from having foresee hair to now having 3C 4A hair. I am a little upset because I also had much more density and after a few days I could see my nape pairs getting sparse to where I could see through them. 😢 I am the type of person who does not use heat on their hair at all but the one time I do for my yearly trim I have a stylus who completely disregarded my health. I’m probably gonna have to go see a dermatologist just to make sure my scalp is right. Psychologically, it made me feel unheard and like my hair and health didn’t matter. Like my blackness didn’t matter. Anyway, do you have any tips for heat damaged hair/scalp?
To bounce back from heat damage trim ends slowly and deep condition every week or every two weeks. Camille Rose Algae Renew Deep conditioner and the honey hydrate leave-in conditioner and twistout cream are my go-to when this happens. Cream curl defining products help most. My last blowout two months ago left me with some heat damage up front. I’ve been using Camille Rose castor oil and Chebe products for the first time. So far seems to help.
I have a patch of hair on my left side that's wiry and very prone to breakage. After doing some digging i found out it's an issue with the hair follicles which resulted from anemia, a deficiency I've been struggling with my whole life! Every problem i have always leads back to anemia! 😫 Anyways, idk if this might be your issue as well, but i figured I'd mention it just in case.
Try it in the shower right after washing/conditioning and just use the felicia leatherwood to brush it through. OR, uncle funky's first and then the foam for more elongation and clumping.
@@SharmaineJoyel lol I can’t believe you responded I love your content girl! I’ve been thinking about getting a bonnet from swirly curly! You are such an inspiration I’m in my twa stage and my hair is growing on me the more I deal with it the more I see my hairs beauty
I use the Doux mousse and it’s literally the only product I have to use now. I’ve been using it for months and I refuse to go back to anything else!! I can do a wash and go with ONLY their mousse and my hair stays both defined and moisturized for over a week (it has lasted over 2 weeks before, although I try to do it each week)
I was kinda thinking the same thing. Her hair used to be coilier than this not that long ago. Ive had to slow down using my Revair because I noticed the 3c area of my hair (I'm multi-textured mostly type 4) getting looser. That may be the issue here as well.
@@friedchicken892 usually Level 2 heat and tension on 6, unless my hair is really wet. I've used it twice in the past month. I used to only use it once every 4 months
@@MT-yx5cu and still heat damage, maybe since you used twice in a month. I needto wash hair my hair every week but for winter wanted to buy it to stretch my hair out for a month but nvm🫠( might get next year tho who knows). Ill bring out my rollers again
@@friedchicken892 yeah that could be the issue... there were 2 weeks in between each use. My plan was to use it each washday like Joyel but I don't think I will be doing that now, or I will just use it on low heat and band my hair if I want more stretch. It really is worth the money-just be careful and watch your hair to see how it's responding. My hair isn't really damaged yet because it still curls; it's just a bit looser. It's probably not noticeable to anyone but me lol
Did it feel soft with the mousse? I have the same problem of gel physically sitting on top of my hair in a visible cast when I do a wash and go, and I find for the most part leave in conditioners leave my hair feeling better with twist outs and braids than butters. But butters have better definition. So I've been curious about trying a mousse. But I don't want to give up the softness that leave in conditioner gives me
I would love to see you put product in your hair as usual then shake your head at the end and let the force of nature separate out your hair. As a babe with an afro, shaking always lets your hair fall and clump where it wants to. I do this for wash and go's and it unlocks another level of strand clumping. You may get more shrinkage but it really does the damn thing with lots of texture. The clean up is not fun so definitely do that in the shower.
