The fact that they added the little dance animation during the result screen gives me life :) You know? If there is something the next Sonic game needs is more original biomes and level themes: after all,we haven't had unique stuff since Colors (Lost World doesn't count since it's just generic Mario areas and Forces didn't have many) I say this because of how much both Generations and Frontiers recycle old stuff
Frontiers was supposed to show us the times through the years of sonic. I don’t even know what I just said but it’s meant to show us the history of Sonic through the years, while also giving us new *Frontiers* to start on.
MAJOR props to the modder for bringing all this stuff to gens. unfortunately it seems like some of these animations are pretty hit or miss. not because they’re bad but they just dont have the polish and fluidity of the gens animations
it’s really personal preference but I do agree that some animations look eh like grinding and the non boost run both are ok but could look a lot better and his jump looks awful it’s just blue u can’t even see sonic also this part of this could be the forces model which looks bad but most can agree they need a new sonic model *keep the blue tho*
@royolaniye6643 nope You'd notice how unleashed has finer details to the run like sonic bouncing and even more walking and running phases. To the untrained eye like yours, you probably don't see a difference. But there most definitely is, frontiers has the lower quality animation.
I have to say, it is a very good model; also, the rigs allow it to be very expressive: stuff like seeing him do multiple different facial expressions in cutscenes gives me LIFE; it actually feels like that's Sonic, not a 3D model. I think the only things that pull it down for me are the in-gameplay animations (at least, most of them). They don't carry the same flow as say, the Generations and especially the Unleashed animations, feeling way more stiff and less bouncy in comparison. It feels like Sonic doesn't carry the same momentum of Unleashed's running animation when running; he doesn't do interesting tricks when Homing attacking like in those two games (doesn't help this attack destroys the flow of Cyberspace stages); he goes back to his RAIL animation after jumping from a rail into mid-air instead of transitioning into a free-fall animation or spinning ball animation; also, you can see his mid-air tricks before he goes back to a free-fall for what, half a second? It's a good model and it allows a lot of potential... but there's room for improvement. Thankfully, that seems to be the way we're heading towards: improvement.
I wouldn't mind seeing full level ports from unleashed, generations, heck even forces being brought into Frontiers. I know frontiers takes a ton of the level lay out. But they left out a ton of other ones. Take wave ocean for example. They could also port 06. The reason I thought of forces though is because it's legit one game apart. And I would like to see the gameplay diference in cyberspace and how much better it is.
@@memezabelle true. But people have worked around that drift problem! And that's sliding lol. Tou still maintain speed while still being able to turn super smoothly however, tou loose momentum in the process. It's a cool risk reward thing. Sliding into enemy's can also work well lol
Not gonna lie, seeing sonic without all that blue blur whenever he boosts is a nice touch, it was kinda hard to appreciate the running animation and what not with that aurora surrounding him in stuff like gens. Really exemplifies his speed👍
it also shows that this is not sonic's true speed since sonic can run faster than light and if he was running faster than light then he would have an energy aura but he doesn't.
@@evdestroy5304recisely. Much as I'd like to see the attacks from Frontiers be modded in, I don't think the level design or enemy placement allow for them to keep a good gameplay flow going.
@@bluefire9285 dude Cyberspace is so much worse than Gens, it’s restrictive as hell and you don’t even have that much control, not to mention cyberspace is super fuckin linear compared to Gens levels
@Hypershadic23 1/3 of Cyberspace levels ARE Generations levels. They can't be more linear when the only change in level design is just merging all the 2D or 3D sections into one single stage.
Thank you so much blue it be really nice if they did make in the future Sonic generations 2 for adding the mods because that’s what my favourite mods from this year. Thank you
This looks fantastic! Though I have one issue: his "drift" looks wonky as heck. Which doesn't exactly make sense, as there was a drifting mechanic in the game, albeit in a single cyberspace stage, but it had an animation. Why not use it? Without it, it just looks weird LOL
Too bad when Sonic falls off a ledge without jumping in Frontiers he appears as if he’s walking/running in the air. Man, Forces and Frontiers Sonic is very stiff. Why can’t they make Sonic games like Unleashed and Generations?😢
to be completely honest, i don't like frontiers' running animation, i love generations and unleashed more, they look more alive, and more like naruto-style
