Okay, have to admit it. I love the idea! This would be great for my collections of Armada Gerry Anderson TV tie-ins and maybe even some of my rare photoplay editions.
This is a real find! Thanks so much for showing them to us. My mind leaps to all the things that would look good in these bespoke-sized cases and the kinds of displays you can make with these on the wall. Now, to get them to the USA...
I know exactly what you mean. After the toy fair, we spent the journey home thinking of cool stuff to go in them. I think sets of books might be very cool indeed. Also, two or three books side by side....I'm sure overseas shipping is possible.....
Wow I daresay I know where my next paycheck is going. Perhaps the only thing better than these cases is the skilled production quality of this video letting us know about them. Well done gentlemen. 🙂 And I must say also if I was spending a lot of money on a paperback these cases would make me happier about the purchase than a sleeve, it would virtually elimate any buyers remorse.
Awesome, thanks so much! They really are very good looking. I'll definitely be getting my best books inside these, they just display so well. It feels a bit like slabbing comics but it's easy enough to get the books out if you want to read them🙂
These are gorgeous and for displaying a single book at a time on my desk I think one case could probably work for swapping out one book for another. Now I’m using a small easel, but that’s no comparison to these cases. A beautiful job and product. Count me in!
Hi Jules ... I like the idea, but would need metres more shelving, even if each book is a close fit - and that is just depth. I'm not sure about the extra height, but my shelving already has very little vertical space!
Understood. I think perhaps for your very best books or ones that you want to showcase it's ideal. The practicalities of doing an entire collection, especially one as big as yours....🙂
I bought a box fulls of single and double clear DVD cases without the dividers from ebay several years ago and store a few hundred of my books in them . Bonus is you can stack them without damaging the books. Would be interested in the price for these
That is something that has gone through my mind, especially with the thinner books that don't stand up on their own so well. I'm sure it's something that can be produced 👍
To be clear, I will not gain a penny from this. After trying two different manufacturers of cases (for action figures) I couldn't believe I finally found someone who lives two streets away from me! If I was sponsored or getting any kickback, I have to legally declare it at the start of the video, I'm not🙂
Hi Jules, Please can I ask - in this vid is an ace book - From the legend of Biel, it has a cut in the top of it, I have a lot of old sci-fi PBs with this cut through the page block. I thought it was accidental damage, almost like it was clipped with a chop saw, is there a reason for these cuts? Thanks for all your vids.
It usually means the book was a remainder copy, sold off cheap. The initial books I gave Chris to make the prototype cases were just spares. I have a mint one of that book now🙂
@@JulesBurt Thank you so much for you answer! It's interesting to learn this was intentionally done. I've never seen it anywhere else until now so I'd imagined my box of books stored in someone's workshop getting cut accidentally! I've learned so much from your videos - Keep up the good work 👍
Look pretty nice but for £5 each! No really viable. Also, I think for someone like me these would take up more space, which is not good ha ha! - But I guess for people with super expensive books this is a cool way to protect them :)
That's right, with some collectible paperbacks fetching hundreds of pounds now, they deserve a bit of extra protection, plus they'll look great. For your bog standard book, not really worth it👍
I believe the site offers discount if buying in multiples. With some collectible paperbacks fetching hundreds of pounds at auction, that price isn't too bad but understand it might seem high if you have a lot of paperbacks to case up. For your best books it is still great price.
