the sound isn't that right either -- Chino's mic is getting a lot of feedback constantly. aside from that i think the sound of this whole show is pretty neat 🤟
I like SNW, but I don't personally feel that it's their peak. SNW was a very emotional (and good) album, but Koi No Yokan feels like an equally intense, but more refined and to the point album. In my opinion, White Pony was their best (but to be honest, we should let the band members decide this themselves). That being said, I wouldn't be on this video if I didn't think SNW was a great album: Xerces is a beautiful song.
SNW musically was awesome. Last album with Chi and those smooth bass lines (no pick, or distortion). Lyrically, it's not great. I think that's why Chino hates this album so much. One, he was going through some stuff and two, he put minimal effort into those lyrics. Just read them. He was pissed at the band and was basically telling them it was over. I bet he regrets that some of those feelings/lyrics leaked out to the music. For me, SNW in the top 3. That beware break down may be the hardest breakdown besides Bloody Cape. Hardest album but also they let Frank spread his wings on the effects!
The actual songs that they have uploaded are better, and more even sounding then the live preformances. So u can try out deftones by visiting their chanel instead

Agreed 100 percent. Devastating guitar, shoegaze sound, menacing synths, and that bad ass head banging outro. And chino hits some crazy high notes on the chorus
The sound in this performance is on point. The song is fantastic but at 5:00 you feel that shit. Deftones - can't wait for this virus shit to be over so I can catch these guys live again.
Crazy how Chino warms up to this mid song. Chorus is really really hard to do, some songs like these, another one that comes to mind is "You've seen the butcher" these are just impossible to perform as they appear on the CD. But Chino really puts his all into making it work, very admirable.
I feel the live version is SO much better than the album one. Steph and Frank really bring the song to life with their ambience, along with Chino's guitar. They should re-record this beast!

as much as i like diamond eyes and koi no yokan, i bet they would have been even better with chi still alive. but who am i to bitch, this is one of their best live shows they've recorded, and sergio by no means ruins this at all! deftones rule!
Kai Brainard Yeah no doubt itd have been perfect with Chi, but he kinda beat the rest of the band to being good live so it works out ok XD And yeah, if you've seen a better live show here then tell me, but this seems to be one of the very best. PLUR
The breakdown in this song and Bloody Cape absolutely annihilate. Feels like you're being physically beaten up when that shit kicks in. Raw goosebumps.
Such a HUGE shame Saturday Night Wrist and Self-titled don’t get played in the set list rotation anywhere near the amount they should. By far their most dynamic albums.

I remember seeing this live on that tour and when that heavy riff came in at the end of Beware I thought the roof was going to come in on the venue. It just sounded immense.
This is MINDBLOWING.. SO intense indeed :) And the bass sounds just great. In harmony with the guitars and drums, and ofcourse the special effects of Frank!!!
awesome performance for this song!!!! i love how they do guitar on this one!!! -Steph plays some keyboards???!!! amazing!! and i love how Abe is extremely into the whole tune loving it and smiling!! he's gained some weight...Chino lost weight & Abe gained it..but their sound is better than ever!!!
@craigrawks : You're right, they are back again now ("Diamond Eyes" lp) to their best level. Just don't forget they are humans and miserables, as we all are, with beauty and dirt. I love this band too, for all the feelings they drive out of me. And I'm not a young boy (43 years old now) with no experience. So what I say is my own summer ! ;) These guys are beside me since "Adrenaline" and I hope to get them with me as long as possible. Or not. Cheers from France to you all. Toy
i agree. i definitely feel it. there is more of a focus like this isn't going to last forever and i think chi has something to do with it. it's a little trippy looking at the audience and realizing most of these kids probably were barely even in preschool when the deftones first record came out. and yea man i've been a fan since before atf and i am still full into this band. one of the only bands i will just sit and watch live video after live video of on youtube... all these years later.
