I'm currently trying to learn it on drums been playing for like 27 years and have the other Deftones albums down ... Gotta say this is the hardest to learn fucking love it so much !
At the time I met my second girlfriend, I decided to listen to this album non-stop for about six months. When talking to her, when embracing her wounds and comforting her as I could, yet inexpert on every sense of love, when loving her even though she couldn't see how beautifull she was, how magical life had become for me with her, when her diamond eyes looked trough me and pinned me with love, I blasted this album; a feeling of flying beyond universe and life riding my thoughts, in a strange, yet pretty, way. She had her problems, she was immature as I, and she was my love. I helped her as much as I could. The toll, however, became too big when we were about to accomplish a year. A hole year of joyfulness and the most horrible kind of pain I've had ever endured, mixed on a bittersweet yet delicious and addicting sustenance known as love. She wasn't eating, she wasn't capable of overcoming her past; and his father just recently had run out of her house. Cuts, cries and a strange embrace, as the feeling that looking to a face in a coffin creeps up, were all the things she did. She was falling, and dragging me into a hole. I loved her. She loved me. She fell in love with me for my writings, and not even the words that came out of my mouth, pure and sometimes foolish, were able to save her. So I took action. I became the butcher. I cut the line. She was so shocked she couldn't even speak. She just... went on denial. Didn't speak with her for a month after that. She disappeared, her life crumbling and me regretting I might have sent her the final push to lose it all. Then this album wasn't one of magical and pure love, making me stride trough an infinite universe. It became a reminder, a call of attention as to what to do with my life, as what to show to the people i knew and i cared about. Everything went to shit after that for me, too; I was too worried for her and not for me. She died. The end. If you keep reading this: Thanks. I'd love to hear your stories too; after all, we're all lonely humans in a way. Cya.

Been getting into Deftones for the last year now and I always love finding diamonds in the rough. Listened to the whole album for the first time just now. This one is SOLID! Definitely a smooth vibe.
It seems that the tickets I purchased, pre-Covid, are going to come to fruition in April…. After 2 rescheduled dates have passed, a global pandemic, they are keeping the commitment.
