It was beautiful to hear about the bond between these two artists. It's so rare to find a kindred spirit *and* faithful friend. I miss that in today's fast casual / cancel culture era. I can appreciate Degas' respect for Cassatt's expertise, but that "other women paint like" remark does shed a bit of light on why people viewed him as they did. I loved seeing the many other examples of work done by both artists. They were both talented and it's nice to know that even though Degas deviated from what the academy et al expected, he had the support of someone whose opinion he truly valued.

Visiting museums is very useful and fascinating. A love for the "eternal" and "beautiful" is awakened in a person, the beginnings of greatness and respect for history are inculcated. It is impossible to turn the excursion into something banal, ordinary and boring. The person should be a comprehensively developed person, cultured, educated, critically and analytically thinking, with knowledge of foreign languages.
