For sure , I'm one of them. If there was a camera recording me while watching a game by myself that I have 3 hundred on, the cops would come and take me to the hospital for evaluation
See, if he had 12 figures spread across various offshore tax havens and was a frequent flier on a certain airplane who’s owner did not decide to unlive himself, he would not have this problem. A quick call would tell him who will win, what plays will be made, and what bets to make. Much easier that way.
That's me every weekend. 1:00, 4:00 and 7:00. And Monday night. An occasional Thursday and Saturday after college football is done. Jesus, I need help.
Imagine this guy a Thanksgiving dinner watching the game. And add a few drinks and a few comments from the brother in-law. It would be a unforgettable Thanksgiving.
I've known alcoholics and gambling addicts. In my experience, gambling addicts make alcoholics look happy-go-lucky and carefree. They are the most dangerous, miserable, and angry humans I have ever encountered.
LOL. You've got it so bad that even Jordan would pull up a chair and be like, "Bro, we need to have a talk about your gambling. It's out of control and I'm concerned."
I can't stand when people shout at a screen, especially when I'm in the room, do you mind shutting the hell up and watching the boredom game like an adult? I'll never understand people who worship sports.
a) I'm picturing this guy in a motel while he's watching this because that's what the room reminds me of, b) I'm convinced gambling on this bs is the only way anyone can be excited over a football game.
I knew a Dallas Cowboys fan in the 90s that acted the same way. He’d carry on like that and then walk up to an opposing team fan and clap 5 times fast (and loud) inches from his face.
Pretty sedate reaction at the end. I was fully expecting him to smash the TV like a bunch of those other clowns on RU-vid. Dude seems like pretty much just a normal gambler/football fan to me.
I know that feeling.. why I don't do sports betting much, but relapse now and then. When you have that bet placed, you ride every play of the game... feel on the top of the world when up/ahead, then feel like your world is collapsing around you when down/losing. It feels amazing to win the bet, suddenly free money.. but can you cash out when ahead? I could only do so with "big" scores, just winning a little here or there wasn't enough otherwise. When you lose, you feel like trash scum who just flushed hard earned money down the toilet. Worse still, you feel you need to win it back.. increase your next bet, dig a deeper hole. It's hard to just take a modest loss and walk away. For the most part I just avoid sports betting, I just can't handle it responsibly. I can't stand that feeling when you lose, and winning a modest amount is normally not enough to "quit while ahead".
I just get so much schadenfreude from watching this I don't respect someone actively feeding their destructive addictions, and people like this are just funny to me
If you get schadenfreude from this it’s okay, but the justification of “well they’re feeding their bad habits” is a pretense. You enjoy it because the guy is under stress, which is fine, but own it.
