Degrassi is a Canadian drama franchise that follows the lives of a group of teenagers who lived on or near De Grassi Street in Toronto, Ontario. The five main series are The Kids of Degrassi Street, Degrassi Junior High, Degrassi High, Degrassi: The Next Generation and Degrassi: Next Class.
The early Degrassi series were produced by the small production company owned by Kit Hood and Linda Schuyler, Playing With Time Inc. The recent version of Degrassi, produced by Epitome Pictures, aired on MTV Canada and on VRAK.TV (dubbed in French) in Canada and was simultaneously broadcast on TeenNick (and in syndication) in the United States. Degrassi: The Next Generations's eighth season aired on BBC Switch in the United Kingdom.
The second incarnation of The Next Generation, Degrassi: Next Class, is jointly produced by Netflix and Epitome (a subsidiary of DHX Media). The show began airing in January 2016 on Netflix internationally and on Family (F2N) in Canada.

Bring back Joey Jeremiah to Degrassi, especially Next Class. His antics, sense of humour, and extrovert attitudes were three reason why I watched Degrassi Junior High and Degrassi High when I was a teenager back in the 80s.

I hope this is a trend that can continue from here on out. Once Con season gets up and going we should have various versions of the Degrassi (I'm partial to DJH and DH) cast touring around Canada and staying in contact with us fans! It may be just some Canadian television show...but damn, it's still one of the best!

That was nice to watch. I do wish they would have talked about Wheels (Neil Hope) and given him a little tribute on stage. And, as for Pat saying that a reunion show is "Not Needed." I don't think he/they realize and have a full grasp of what the characters meant to us and their greater importance to Canadiana. I just watched the full Canadian version of the pilot episode of next generation and when Dwayne came on screen I burst into tears (he got HIV on Degrassi). I wasn't expecting that it would effect me that way but it just showed how deep these characters could sink into our hearts and minds. I wish next gen would have done more to integrate them into the show. They missed the ball on that. I for one would love a 2 hour special episode where we really got to see what happened to the characters of JR high. There is 100 percent a big audience for that and after investing in all the characters it would be nice to see where they ended up.

I was 11/12 when Degrassi first came out and I loved the series and I've recently rewatched the series as an adult being 46, nearly 47 now. The actors are about my cousin's age group

Tessa belongs there because of the massive impact she had in the original series finale. When you talk about major characters, she definitely left her mark regardless of her history. People want to know about Stephanie Kay and LD but did either one of them REALLY do anything as memorable as busting up the show's arguably most popular couple? Talk about being known for one thing, that's a pretty huge one thing.

I wonder why in these interviews what ever happened to the other characters that were a big part of the old shows and why they weren't involved in this or just aren't in contact with. I wonder what happened to all the people that played a role in those awesome shows. besides wheels R.I.P

Since Kirsten Bourne, the actress playing Tessa Campanelli, was a minor character on the Degrassi Junior High and Degrassi High series, until the latter half of Degrassi High Season Two and School's Out, I'm wondering why she was included in the Reunion panel? Amanda Stepto, the actress playing Christine "Spike" Nelson, should have been part of the panel as she's a major character. Dayo Ade, the actor whom played Bryant "BLT" Thomas, and Maureen McKay, the actress playing Michelle Accette, should have been included on this panel as they were both revolutionaries and innovators, notably their first depicted interracial romance on television.

I am glad Tessa is back. She was underrated in the series and hence why got a leading role in Schools Out. Kirsten also has been missing from all components of successive reunions and series so its nice seeing her appear. Not to mention how we can never forget the love affair between Tessa and Joey.

@@magica1355 unless he carried himself weird like when asking (I’m not watching this)... autism has nothing to do with this, he didn’t know the actor died. Even if he did have it autism still has nothing to do with the question unless he phrased the question weird like. Anyways.. end up in a cringe compilation ? I highly doubt a degrassi fan is low self esteemed enough to make those. And to care about ending up on one is stupid, there’s more important things in life to care about. You’re projecting your own fears with that comment

They were and are. You can see them having friendly, sisterly interactions in the Degrassi documentary show 'Degrassi Talks', at one of their own irl houses. They also have matching tattoos which they got together, of the Wonder Woman logo

Dear Degrassi creators and Alumni. You have did an incredible journey with Degrassi and the problem is some of us who started it all watching the original Degrassi Junior High and Degrassi High felt like we were not done with these Two I love the Next generation and I loved the Incorporated class of the Original In it But why did a Degrassi University was ever Born so I'm asking can you do one a University so Diverse that it tackles some of the past shows Topics and secrets and bring back original members of Degrassi Junior High and Degrassi High. Not only that Next generation members and Next class why because we know you can do it and it can begin with an original and Next generation Reunion in One building also reintroducing back some we left everyone puzzled about like LD if possible , Stephanie ,Suzie and Shane who shocks us also NGR like def. Liberty be nice to get a spoiler of her included . Be nice to see Joey and Caitlyn even like I said return of hidden pasts for some like the twins for one but I think you get my drift bottom line is we know you can do this and I know I’d watch and I’m asking all who would love a return to like this comment and if you’d love it to happen Comment please

I would love to see it, but unfortunately it isn't realistic. A lot of the people from this show moved on to lead normal lives. They may not want to reprise their roles and step back into the spot light. And unfinished stories with characters, such as LD, usually they left because they had a reason to not do the show (whether its other projects or want to be normal). Some of the main cast of DJH/DH, such as the guy that played Yick, stopped acting and started working in other rolls on sets, like assistant director. Same thing happened for some of the characters on Next Generation. Its unfortunate. I would love to see them all reprise their rolls, but their stories have been told. The actors grew up. And also Degrassi lost funding. Netflix bought it. Then Next Class tanked on Netflix. If there's no money, it won't meet the costs of production. Super unfortunate. But their tales live on through us.

Tessa? I'd expect to see Lucy or Heather and Erica or even Kathleen. Tessa was ok, but it just seems like the others were the REAL TOP ACTORS.

She was an iconic, memorable, popular character who people want to see and hear from, though. Plus her character was a main in the movie and her story ended on a cliffhanger, which keeps people more interested.
