QUESTION: With the color management set to > Non Color managed > Timeline Color Space: Davinci WG/Intermediate > Output: Rec.709 Gamma 2.4, how come you are not using an IDT and ODT in the node structure? IDT would be Camera profile to Davinci WG/Intermediate > ODT would be Davinci WG/Intermediate to Rec.709. Then, Dehancer Input Source would be Rec.709. Correction would happen in between IDT and ODT, taking advantage of the largest Color Space being Davinci WG/Intermediate??? Looking forward to your answer. Thanks
I'm maybe a little confused by your question but i'll try to answer and hopefully it makes sense and it's what your looking for :); I think i set my IDT & ODT on the CST Node in the node tree, and this took place toward the end of the node tree (before the Dehancer node). Dehancer recommends converting your log image to a Rec709/Rec2020 etc inputs before any additional Dehancer parameters are applied, hence the CST being placed into the node structure before the Dehancer node. The nodes prior to the CST node can be used to take full advantage of the DaVinci WG colour space (which was set in the timeline colour managagement area). I've been following and learning stuff on RU-vid from a gentleman by the name of Darren Mostyn who is an excellent colourist and his videos are what i've been utilising as a primary learning resource The following videos below were really helpful to me ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-c4AVwVdKTHc.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CtSBVKmHkjU.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8geDbNpH5cI.html Hopefully that answers your question and the follow links help :)
First of all great video calm explanation, my question be would you not rather have dehancer prior to cst in order to manipulate or have the latitude in widegamut Vs limited to rec709 adjustments after cst? So what I’m saying is wouldn’t be better to have dehancer pro as widegamut make all corrections and then have cst after to rec709
