HI, I'm 71, and your joint performance took me back over 60 years when my grandmother played the piano and sang this with my uncle. Thank you both very much.
Your voice has a very rich color to it!!! Splendid performance!!! Also, if you don't mind me asking, what was your vocal range when you just started training/taking lessons?
BRAVO!!! What an incredible instrument you have as well as a wonderful ability to convey emotions. I listened to many of your videos and am thoroughly blown away. I wish you all the very best in your pursuit of an operatic career. I was a Helden Tenor for about 20 years. I was so blessed to have the chance to sing some of the most glorious music in places I could not even imagine when I was 18. I was also very lucky to perform with great colleagues and have wonderful mentors throughout my career. I hope you don't mind if I share one of my favorite pieces of advice I received early on. (Even though I didn't follow it completely BTW! lol) Anyway, when making a recording with Pavarotti, he let me "hold" his back to see how he would breath (Amazing!) and while we were talking he told me this...."Giovanni, you must grab every rung of the ladder to success. Make sure you feel solid on each step. Do not skip 10 or 20 rungs simply because someone offers you a dream role or a ton of money. If it is too soon, you will suffer even if you have immediate gratification. Failures are what teach you the most, and if you slip one or two rungs down, you can hang on and climb back up. But, if a failure pushes you down 30 rungs that you skipped, it could end your career right then and there!" So, I guess I am imploring you to stay grounded, grab every rung, and shoot for the stars on step at a time! Langsam, Langsam. I look forward to watching your career flourish in the future!!!
Absolutely fucking BRILLIANT. One of the best renditions I've ever heard, and that includes those by Domingo, Carreras, Kaufmann, etc. Extraordinary, astounding talent.
Excellent -what a wonderful voice and so technically secure. Bravo maestro. Also, and most importantly, a wonderful accompanist who knows what the art of accompanying is about-so supportive.
Dieciocho años????increíble.Es común que los pianistas al ayudar a un cantante joven a hacer un video sean informales en su vesttimenta, eso no me gusta ,es irrespetuoso. Maravilloso tenor.
I have just discovered your channel. I think you have a wonderful future ahead of you. If I had to point out one particular strength from what I've heard so far it has to be your Mozart - beautifully phrased and lovely dynamic control.
I want to use this song for auditions but a lot of schools don’t want arias. Das land das lachelns is considered an operetta, does that make this an aria?
