The most frustrating thing aside from Hunter being injured, is that there was no accountability. A penalty, really? Targeting, that’s what that was, immediate ejection. It was a dirty hit, period. I find it ironic that the police are concerned for henry and his family’s well-being and trying to go after those who threatened him online/via text, but the police and DAs office are refusing to determine whether the late hit constitutes an intentional tort/criminal battery - which courts have consistently ruled hitting after the play is dead does constitute the above. It’s literally one of the very first court cases tort and crim law professors tend teach in law school.

Henry Blackburn is getting death threats because he didn't have any regrets or remorse after he hitted Travis intentionally... that's what made the fans upset.. if he apologized, and at least try to help the guy then he wouldn't get death threats. Travis went to the hospital with a lacerated liver, that is assault and battery. It’s illegal. If you want to hit like that do it during the play not after the play. I love Prime but that was no "mistake." The hit was VERY intentional. The fact that there were no consequences is the reason people are still angry and can't move on. Death threats are a bit extreme. Intentionally targeting someone for injury is pretty extreme as well.

Coach Prime knew exactly what it was. He saw what we all saw. I believe he utilized his stage/platform to spare Henry Blackburn's life from any potential body snatcher. Coach crafted and delivered his message carefully b/c he knows that his words transcends across social media.

It's serious. This kid has to go thru LIFE all because of a heat-of-the-moment play. He shouldn't have to go to grocery stores and apartment hunting and car shopping - worried the whole time somebody, at some point in time, wants to off-him. That's just not right. It was a HORRIBLE play, but we gotta move past it. We gotta give him a sports-punishment, not a LIFE punishment.

If he was man enough to make an illegal hit , after the whistle , after the ball and play were dead , and then flex on Travis while he is in the ground and then walk off like he was the man , then he is man enough to deal with the consequences. Death threats are wrong , but you can’t expect people to withhold their emotional reactions when their is no accountability, no punishment , and his own coaches praised him after the hit and never made him apologize publicly. All they are doing is putting a target on his back. Someone is going to lay him out at school at some party or they will demolish him on the field as pay back , if the authorities won’ handle it , then the streets will. This is why we have laws in a society this is why we have accountability so that the mob doesn’t burn it all down. I refuse to shed a tear for that kid

Coach Prime and the Colorado Buffaloes are the sports story of the decade. They're constantly covered in sports media and social media........not to mention Coach Prime's cachet of historical greats that drop by the campus to lend their support. Henry Blackburn, took a deliberate cheapshot on Travis Hunter, one of the top players on the Buffaloes and in college football, for the sole purpose of injuring him. Making it worse, Blackburn stood over Travis after the hit trying to intimidate him. Blackburn received no significant consequence other than a 15 yard penalty. Although I don't condone death threats by any means, I do understand the retaliation against Blackburn. If you choose to be a dirty player, then you're also choosing the ramifications that follow.........regardless of whether it's right or wrong! In the words of Shannon Sharpe...."You either coach that or you condone that!"

You must not know what targeting is. Once you're around college football enough. You'll learn it. He should have been ejected for the rest of the game. It wouldn't have made a difference to the game. He didn't effect the game in any capacity outside taking out Hunter. However, it was textbook targeting. And he should have been on the sidelines for the rest of the game.

Notice that there were no death threats last season after the Bills/Bengals game? The reason for the death threats is that this was intentional. Surely no one would expect a hit to damage a liver. However he intended to hurt him. Let’s not act like it was an accident. Plus, the coach should take some heat. Death threats is not going to solve anything, but he knew what he was doing when he made that dirty hit! I coach kids and I don’t condone any type of play and if we beat you, we’re going to do it the right way! We don’t teach that style of football! But this social media thing has no filter! We might think it’s nothing, but to millions of people it might seem worse! Nobody needs the death threats! I keep hearing everyone saying, it’s just a game! No it’s not, it’s more than game! These are not kids anymore! This is a grown man’s game! It’s a lot of money 💴 being made off of these young men backs! I’m starting not to like this sport anymore!

It was just a game before the hit, so…why make the hit???? It’s an inconsistent argument to say it’s just a game in response to the threats but not acknowledge that the player should be punished for taking just a game too far with a dirty hit.
