To expose his health like that took a lot courage ... but Deion is always so upbeat you wouldn't think he had such a surgery. Especially when his claim to greatness are his feet. So he's dealing with emotional trauma and physical trauma. But I think that's why he's going to be a great Coach at Colorado....

I soaked up a lifetime of game from my grandfather and his friends. Papa would tell me to be quiet, ear hustle, learn something, dont ask any questions in front my friends I'll explain everything later... I learned how to play spades and dominoes watching them. Man people don't realize he lost 2 toes in Jackson and almost his life and still coached on the sidelines. His story inspired me because I had a ruptured Achilles and was on a knee scooter and all that stuff as well. It was challenging on the mind at times.

Always admired Prime but after this i have so much more respect for this man ....to have gone through these surgeries , being disfigured and faced with life threatening ailments yet..still be there for his family, keeping his sense of humor ...while standing on his faith in God... It's good to see Deion Sanders be able to laugh a bit with his Brotha Shannon Sharp about such a challenging time. Not that ANY of it is funny, but to be able to speak on it without falling apart at his new normal. Surviving serious health concerns is deep, you literally are fighting for your life. But when you learn to laugh and enjoy life again you really know you are above the pain...even when you still have to manage it.

I had my right big toe amputated due to a bone infection. Before that I use to snowboard,swim,go surfing in the Pacific in San Diego,hike. I'm in the process of rebuilding my strength, balance and muscle mass. Thanks for producing this interview. Deion Sanders is a great motivator to me. He shows you can push past so called setbacks.
