Die-hard hawks fans knew (the people I watch with knew, at least) that giving it to marshawn on the 1 was not a great idea. he got stopped a lot from there. how much less successful he was from the one than an average running back I do not recall. The called play was right for so many reasons; and wrong for just one. For all the sense it made, the only downside was that it was slightly more risky. if you were a coach, statistics in-hand, and you slid your finger over to % this play results in interception, it would be almost zero. I don't think there were any interceptions from the 1 across the entire league that season. Just bad luck. Not a bad call.

Russell Wilson wasn't a champion who has achieved on every single level? Really? As a high school senior in 2006, he threw for 3,009 yards, 34 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. Wilson also rushed for 1,132 yards and 18 touchdowns. That year, he was named an all-conference and all-state player as well as conference player of the year. He was featured in Sports Illustrated magazine for his performance in the state championship game win. Wilson also served as his senior class president. In the 2008 at NC State he completed 150 of 275 attempts for 1,955 yards and 17 touchdowns with just one interception. He also recorded 116 carries for 394 yards and four touchdowns. The ACC named him the first-team All-ACC quarterback. It was the first time in the conference's history that a freshman quarterback (he was red-shirted in 2007) was named to the first team. On September 19, 2009, Wilson broke the all-time NCAA record of 325 consecutive pass attempts without an interception. The 379-pass streak ended on October 3. Wilson led the 2010 Wolfpack to a win in the Champs Sports Bowl. He led the ACC in passing yards per game (274.1) and total offensive yards per game (307.5). Wilson graduated from NC State in three years in May 2010 with a BA in communication. The Colorado Rockies drafted Wilson to play professional baseball, but he decided to stay with football. In 2011 at Wisconsin, Wilson was named first team All-Big Ten by both the coaches and media, and won the Big Ten Quarterback of the Year award, and was MVP of the Big Ten Championship Game, then let his team to the Rose Bowl. Wilson finished the season with 33 passing touchdowns, which set the single season record at Wisconsin and was the second-most in Big Ten history behind Drew Brees in 1998. Wilson also set the single season FBS record for passing efficiency (191.8). Russell Wilson has done nothing in his life except achieve at every level. People who've known him for several years were not at all surprised that he set records from his first year in the NFL. It's just what he does.

Also, Russell Wilson is better because he came to the NFL a third round pick, while Cam was 1st overall. Russell earned his job in Seattle, while it was handed to Cam. Wilson also has led the Seahawks to a playoff berth every season of his career.

Russell Wilson is the more professional, and advanced QB. Don't get me wrong Cam is a monster and is this generations QB but Russell Wilson is the better choice for a team player and you want someone to take you far consistently every year and put the team on his back. Just thought I'd share my opinion.

Since they didn't really address the core issue I'll do it. Russell Wilson is better than Cam Newton. Let me tell you why. Over their careers Wilson has averaged 3500 yards, 26 TDs, 8 Ints, 64.7% completions, and 101.8 passer rating. Cam has averaged 3650 yards, 23 TDs, 13 INTs, 59.5% completions, and 88.2 passer rating. Russel gets sacked more but for significantly fewer yards, Cam averages 7.7 yards per sack while Russ has 6 yards per sack. So it's pretty easy to see Russ is a better pure passer. As for rushing I need to make 1 exclusion, I'm not counting rushing TDs that are 5 yards or shorter because those are not skillful as runs, any RB could have also made those runs. Now that that's out of the way let's compare. Wilson averages 608 yards and 2.25 TDs and 10 Fumbles per year (most from the pocket), Cam averages 641 yards, 5.8 TDs and 7 fumbles per year. So overall Wilson averages 4100 yards, 28.25 TDs, and a max of 18 turnovers, while Cam averages 4300 yards, 28.8 TDs, and a max of 23 Turnovers. I would call this a win for Wilson because of the 4.6% deficit in yards and 1.9% deficit in TDs while having a 21.7% deficit (which is good in this category) of total turnovers. But at the very least it's even for them. So judging by that now let's look at 2 more things. First off, the team around them, well the Panthers O-line has been a fair amount better than the Seahawks over this time period. The Panthers also had Steve Smith for the first few years of Cam's career, and have had Greg Olsen, a top 5 Tight End, and Kelvin Benjamin (for only 1 year) since. In Cam's 5 years he's only not had a 1000 yard receiver once, while Wilson just had his first in 4 years and it was barely 1000 yards. As for rushers, yes Seattle did have lynch for 3.25 years. However their for overall rushing it's fairly even. The seahawks have a been a bit better over Wilson's 4 years, but the Panthers have only not been in the top 10 for yards once over Cam's career, and they were number 11. Since both qbs average nearly the same yards this is a very fair comparison. The only other facet of the argument I have, which to me seals it for Russ, is comebacks and game winning drives, even in 1 fewer year Wilson has 13 and 18 respectively verses Cam's 12 and 12.

Well in football at the QB position its been a pro dominate white man position as white men are normally bigger in weight and have been taller, with stronger arms ( In the NFL ) Where as black people play a lot of other skill positions (Saftey, Corners, Linebackers, Running backs, and Wide receivers) and they dominate over white players in these positions ( Other than a couple few amazing defenses players harrison smith, luke kuechly jordy Nelson.) White people have mainly played QB, Fullback, Offensive and defensive Line (currently in the past a lot of black players dominated at the D line) and Tight End. People always make a big deal about a black qb, since in the nfl very few have been successful Mike Vick, Donovan Mcnabb, Cam, Russell are the recent amazing Black qbs from 2000-current( RGIII is Iffy and Colin isnt good anymore). Hope I helped a little.

the NFL is very racist against white players. The game would be much better if they weren't obsessed with pleasing black supremacists and focused more on football intelligence than pure athleticism

Crazy that people are talkin' about Russell Wilson like that, "He's not black enough", He's not tall enough, he's not fast enough... WTF is that? I understood that when he first came in the league but Still??? Russ has broken all the molds (The Stereotypes). Why is everything black or white, short or tall? How about people are who they are... Russ is the ultimate champion. The ultimate person. The ultimate competitor. The Ultimate Teammate. The Ultimate Winner. The Ultimate Champion. He is just chillin' @ The children's hospital every week. No big deal... LOL - I wish I could be moe like Russell. He is just one of those genuine human beings, and it happens to be that he is an incredible football player. I would pick Russell Wilson over any QB in the league HAND DOWN. NO QUESTION. NO AND's, IF's or BUTS ABOUT IT. PERIOD. If you disagree you can meet me in the back alley of Hooters. HAHA JK, but seriously. I love the dude. Obviously I am a Huge Seahawks fan and I mean SERIOUS Seahawks fan but I would love Russ no matter which team he was on and would cut off my left pinky finger to get him on our team. Lucky for me ,despite what my girlfriend says, my finger isn't worth much much... Russell Wilson will go down in NFL history as one of the Best QB's and Best people to ever play the game. I was watching the Monday Night Football Game tonight (Panthers vs. Bucs, 10/10/16) and you take a look at the QB's who are playing, granted Cam Newton was out for concussion protocol but even Jameis Winston (who is a legit young player). I was watching the game and saw overthrows and plays that should have been made by both QB's. Those are plays that Russ makes... and has always made since he was a starter his rookie year (minus the first few games vs. the Cards and the Panthers week 1&2. His accuracy is absolutely canny. I wont lie, I was on the "Flynn it to Win it" band wagon back in 2012 in the beginning until I saw his dedication, relentless determination, skills and 100% belief in his ability to win. Dudes a winner. Dude is a freekin' WINNER. His spiral on the ball is second to none. I can honestly count the number of times on 2 hands where he threw a shaky ball. His accuracy, touch and consistency are second to none (and yeah, I hate the Harvard comma in case any english major was bothered by that). He is up there with Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady as far as proficiency but he has something else that I cannot put my finger on, that Extra, 6th sense / ability. You know, that extra stat that nobody, note even ESPN can calculate.. He is so consistent and accurate... esp with his deep balls, one of the best in the league. When he throws a deep ball it seems like he is just flicking the ball for a 15-yard pass but he hits Doug Baldwin for 68... its incredible. We as Seahawks fans are so damn lucky to have been blessed with Russell Wilson: And when I say lucky, it goes further than that. It is a Godsend. He makes me a better person. As my Man Russ Says after every interview "Go Hawks"! -12

Cam desperately needs recognition for what he has accomplished. What he has done is incredible and respectable, don't get me wrong, but people will always become upset when a player finds it necessary to rub his accomplishments in the face of opposing fans, especially when there are players like Russell Wilson who have won a super bowl but still remain humble grounded.

Frankly, I'm not a huge Cam Newton fan--he acts like a child when things don't go his way, and that drives me nuts. Is he a good quarterback? Sure, he seems to be, but his overall attitude just drags him down for me. That said, I adore Russell Wilson for the same reason. His attitude lifts him above and beyond his abilities on the field. Beyond that, though, I don't think it's particularly fair to compare the two. They are completely different people, both seem to be perfectly capable at their jobs on the field, while they handle the social aspect of their jobs in vastly different manners.

Incidental: The "Parasite" ep. (2/3/10) of FBI drama "Criminal Minds" has San Diego conman William Hodges (Victor Webster) using shell businesses to defraud investors before he killing them. Among the shells mentioned are Grant Dale Investments, Inc.; and Hunter Portland Advisers, Incorporated. Thinking of the Seattle Seahawks regional fan base in the Pacific Northwest, “Hunter Portland Advisors” raises an eyebrow. Russell Wilson's father, attorney Harrison B. Wilson III (408-96-2326) falling short of NFL stardom at a 1979 San Diego Chargers preseason training camp fits nicely with David Eigenberg as San Diego-based FBI agent Russell Goldman with Calvin Harrison as agent Cal in "Parasite". When "Parasite" aired, Russell Wilson was the starting QB for the NC State Wolfpack in Raleigh, NC--a city named for English explorer Sir Walter Raleigh. This could fit nicely with the closing bookend quote of "Parasite" delivered by Agent Emily Prentiss (Padget Brewster): "Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive"--Sir Walter Scott. While Sir Walter Scott is not Sir Walter Raleigh, being knighted by a royal crown provides a decent link to the potential crux of the problem. Sir Walter Raleigh founded the Roanoke Colony (1585-1590), sometimes known as the Lost Colony, on the Outer Banks of present day North Carolina in 1585. The colony produced the first English child born in the New World, Virginia Dare. The opening bookend quote in "Parasite" is delivered by Agent Dave Rossi (Joe Mantegna): "If I am what I have, and if I lose what I have, who then am I?"-- German Psychologist Erich Fromm More "Criminal Minds" Russell Wilson was a prep student at exclusive, private, $17,000 per year Collegiate in Richmond, VA when the "Sex, Birth, Death" ep. of Criminal Minds aired on his 18th b'day-11/29/06. In it, March 11, 1989-St. Petersburg, Russia-born Anton Yelchin plays Nathan Harris--a junior at Northwest High School in Washington D.C. who is disturbed by dark fantasies in his mind, urging him to harm himself and prostitutes. Note: Russell begins like Russia and Russian-born Yelchin turned 27 years old on the day Russell Wilson announced on social media that Grammy-winning recording artist CIAra had accepted his marriage proposal. Yelchin starring in a Washington D.C.-set episode of "Criminal Minds" (Sex, Birth, Death) could remind of another March 11 birthday boy since longtime ABC News correspondent Sam Donaldson turned 82 years old on March 11, 2016. Yelchin played Kyle Reese in 2009 film, "Terminator Salvation". He played Chekov in the "Star Trek" movie, also in 2009. Sam Donaldson made his bones as the ABC News White House correspondent, most notably during the tenure of the nation's 40th president, Ronald Wilson Reagan. When John Warnock Hinckley Jr. shot Reagan on March 30, 1981, Donaldson appeared throughout the afternoon on ABC News continuing coverage alongside chief anchor Frank James Reynolds (watch?v=5EE9ASmO_7E), who would have turned 65 years old on the day Russell Wilson was born, 11/29/88. However, Reynolds died on July 20, 1983--the 14th anniversary of NASA first landing humans on the Moon. Hinckley has made sporadic appearances in the news in the 21st century, most notably for being allowed to leave the psychiatric hospital he was sentenced to serve time in for the Reagan shooting to make visits to his mother's home in Williamsburg, VA .

One of the most disconcerting of the comments was the implication that Cam is in a sense the new improved face of a leader. Being that core of the discussion was pertaining to racial issues, how in the world would a Cam Newton be any kind of a good role model??? As a ADULT person of color my observation is that this type of behavior is what is causing minorities to go backwards. The whole loud, aggressive behavior that says "Yah WHAT? I'm in your face just stfu" is disgusting. For the adult males of this program to almost endorse his right to behave like that in and of itself is just wrong and disappointing. Most young Blacks will NOT be in a position of extreme financial or secular success, yet they will come away displaying that same type of behavior though it be far from justified. It will indeed only insure the negativity of the general public and continued disdain by some. Am I saying that people of color have to cowtail like "Yessa and No massa"? By no means, certainly not. But it is the conduct of true men like Russell Wilson that should be emulated and should be aspired to. It engenders self respect and others cannot help but respect you even if they hate you. It encourages you to be a better person and not just act out and then wonder why you are not being afforded the same opportunities as others. Again, I am not saying as some would verbalize it, that you have to ACT WHITE, no, but this young generation needs to get past the mindset of entitlement and get busy creating their possibilities of social economic improvement. Stop exonerating these bad behaving musicians and sports stars! They are spoiled and others think it is how you should act if you want people to look up to you. Summation. Behave like Cam, go nowhere, present yourself like Russell and opportunities will be available. Just the humble thoughts of a Black male that was around and experienced when sometimes you wouldn't get served in a restaurant, with a father that is 85 and living Grandmother that is 108 that experienced extreme prejudice and yet were all able to be rather successful.

Wilson > Cam in every way possible, he's classy, professional, and a much better athlete at a not so tall height. I mean look at how Deion Sanders compares Wilson to Cam. Deion is as prejudice as any other white racist.

No, Cam has more athletic ability. He isn't a better QB. Wilson has better stats in his first four seasons than Cam, aside from rushing yards and TDs.

Can I ask a more important question? Who gives a fuck what colour skin a qb is!? I honestly hadn't noticed that we'd had a black qb in each of the last 4 seasons. Russell is a great qb, so is Cam. Is that to do with the fact that they're black? No, they're just great athletes..

This is probably the most racist video ever! Since Russell doesn't dab he doesn't have to worry about being a black QB? But Cam ( in southern church music) he's is a whole different type of QB? Russell is more traditional like manning or Rodgers?! Deion is absolutely crazy with his comparison

Mr Sanders go back home singing praises to Newton I live in North Carolina near Charlotte near the stadium. cam is so overrated Charlotte has the worst fans ever he's no better than Jake Delhomme and if Carolina keep losing Super Bowls they got me like the Buffalo. so let's stop praising him till he does something I am so tired hearing his name getting credit for it's not do. a word to all the Carolinas cam is not your savior and he will never be mark this down. mr. Newton will not be in another Superbowl or.cam
