Why is everyone undercutting CJ's value as a trade piece??? A quick glance shows that he's just as valuable, if not moreso, as Brandon Ingram. McCullom is making 20 pts/game. He shot over 500 treys, making almost 43% of them! He's under contract for two more seasons, wth the last season going DOWN from $33mil to $30mil. IF the Pelicans and Ingram can agree on an extension, they should immediately start shopping CJ.

Honestly, I'm not looking at any of his stats from Aintlanta. I'm looking at his highlights and stats from his stint with the San Antonio Spurs when actually played PG. This dude took the starting pg position from Tony Parker, and he was coached by GREG POPPAVICH, so I know for a fact that he'll be the best PG we've had since CP3!!!

Offensively it will come down to how defenses guard Zion and our center when Murray has the ball. If defenses can just clog the lane by sagging off our 5 and Zion we will need to primarily run point Zion even down the stretch. Murray is much better on ball and will shine a lot more when Zion is on the bench.

His contract with the pelicans is being attempted to be BOUGHT OUT. So he can play in europe. . . .will it happen? He is a nba ready guy. Is he the fix? No not likely. But he can run. Jump. Has a midrange game. And is tall. = center. . . .. . Im cool with messi starting. If he can gel in time. He has enough tools to be solid.

There are ONLY three starting centers that the Pelicans can make a one-for-one trade for; Bam Adebayo, Deandre Ayton, and Kevin Looney. The salaries of Adebayo, and Ayton are near a one-for-one match for players on the Pelicans roster, and Looney salary fits within our newly acquired trade exception. However there is no sign that the Heat are looking to part ways with Adebayo, and although the Warriors are currently above the roster limit, Looney is the only legitimate center on the team. That barely leaves Ayton. The Blazers have been tanking the past few seasons, and may be looking for an expiring contract to free up some cap space going into next season....

Pelicans are very close to contention I don’t think having 4 all star level players will cut it especially when Ingram and cj don’t play dont defence and willie Green is a defensive coach as a outsider view I would be looking to collect draft capital for Brandon Ingram dumping his salary and using that cj contract and picks to go get a star because dejounte and Zion a amazing number 2&3 options now it’s about having those 2 gel well together make a 2nd round or conference finals appearance and pitch this team to stats around the league those top 20-15 guys

In a round about way the Pistons signing Paul Reed may actually help Trajan trade for BI. Detroit now has 3 bigs in Duran, Stewart & Reed so they can include Stewart & picks for BI. The Pistons are trying to be relevant after years of little winning so they are going out & get vets, including Tobia Harris which is kind of questionable in my opinion. They also just handed Cade Cunningham a hugh rookie extension. Get it done Griffin!

@@icekyuu I agree that they underperformed, but I don't think that is any one players fault. You could argue that most of that is to do with the fit rather than Murray. I also think that in general it is extremely disingenuous for OC to say that he's never had a winning record with a team when the 2022-23 Hawks were exactly .500. Like, I get it, that's technically right but it doesn't tell the whole story. Especially when you consider that in the games that he played they were slightly above .500.

We may have to pivot our thought process on trading BI. Instead of BI being the big trade piece, he may have to be used to facilitate a multi team deal. Pels receives- John Collins and Gary Payton III Warriors receives- Lauri Markkanen Jazz receives- Brandon Ingram, Kevon Looney, Johnathan Kuminga, and 4 1st (2 from NOLA 2 from GS)
