Zeos' studio getting more crazy by the day

When you posted the x3 review i looked for x2 hr's and i found some with a broken pin for 80 bucks. cleaned them up and fixed them. best decision this year.

@Zeos Thankyou for the recommendation, I just recently purchased the "Dekoni Audio Elite Sheepskin" pads for my Audeze LCD-2C Headphones. The Dekoni Elite Sheepskin pads are extremely comfortable & sound-wise a massive upgrade over the stock Audeze fake protein leather pads that were pealing apart!

I got my X2's in 2017 they've been my absolute favorite headphones since I bought them. The fabric around the ears is starting to pull so I'll have to check out these since I didn't want to retire them yet. Great review and I'm loving my z12's!

Zeos I just bought this (in the EU), and wow... these are amazing... better than an amp/dac investment imo with comfort + sound improvement. Even the convenience! I feel like this wouldn't need as much cleaning as the stock do.

I bought my X2HR in DEC2017 and your channel saved me from (what I thought was good then) ASTRO A40 and A50s. I also got the Mayflower and the Vmoda mic. My gaming and music experience was literally revolutionized. I ordered these pads and can't wait to get them. I also look forward to your updated gaming headphone/ mic/ DAC AMP video. Just bought the Suede pads for the X2HRs. They. Are. Absolutely. Amazing. Love them so much, definitely worth the $50. You convinced me to buy the X2HRs 7 months ago and now I've been convinced by you to get these pads. Like I've said before, your reviews are awesome, keep it up!

Perfect review since I just picked up the X2HR's as my first open back headphone!

I had to make the choice between X2HR or the HD58x and I chose the X2HR. My first dip into higher Audiophile headphones. Seeing Zeos talk about them again makes me feel confident in dropping the HD58X for the X2’s.

I just got my X2HRs like 2 days ago, freaking LOVING THEM. Can't believe he said the pads suck when these are the most comfortable headphone pads I've felt in my life. I need to try those Dekonis.

Getting different pads for the X2 is a good idea if for no other reason than the pads that come with them are the worst dust magnets I've experienced.

Just purchased the Suede for the X2HR I picked up for $115 all because of Zeos. I paired them with a Schiit Hel and Voda Boom Pro Mic. I am in love with this for gaming. Can never go back to any type of "gaming headset". Zeos has not let me down with his recommendations! Keep killing the review game.

Got some velour pads on the for my X2HRs super excited

For those that is considering to get the choice leather, just FYI. The leather is a cheap thin synthetic leather. I used it for 5 months and it started peeling. It also get hot and sticky with sweat. It does add to the bass and treble, not to my liking but perhaps if you're into that you might love the sound signature. However please be aware of the bad build quality. I am getting a choice suede replacement, I believe it will be much more durable and comfortable than the choice leather since fabric like suede wont peel off like synthetic leather, I think.

Been waiting since Feb when this vid came out to get these pads for my x2hr's...I hate the stock xr and shp9500 pads. Both versions of the Dekoni's were out of stock, well, they're back! bout time too! Got those lamb leather alpha pads for my shp's...huge thick soft pads. I hope these pads are the similar. Prob not as thick but hopefully better than stock.

The leather pads on the X2hr fix EVERYTHING.

You don't have to glue the M560. You just take the stock pad apart and remove the plastic base. You can then put that in most standard pads about the right size.

Which one do you think would be best for the x1 as you say they have a sticky option on the back. i use the x2 cable as I prefer the sound of it on the x1, it tightens up the bass a tad unless it's placebo. I would prefer a little more clarity and less bloated. So which one would you say will do that the suede or leather? Or do you suggest something else? Great vids

Was in the mood for a rant but I needed to know about this. Love my hr’s I think I may get the leathers because I already kind of like the stock pads. The material sucks but fit and comfort is great.

So what should I get for my X2HRs if I just want to tame some of the high-end.

I would rather go with the 3rd option of the Dekoni pads for these. AKA the "velour" pads. Because these Suede and leather is not at all Suede and lether. They are synthetic and will peel and become cheap like all the other plether pads. The Velour ones won't.

i finally understood how the earpads can change the sound signature. it is a huge difference. however, in my experience with Dekoni leather pads for X3, is not positive. I love X3. I really don't understand all the hates toward these cans. they are great headphones with clean defined sound, wide stage, nice images, and most of all, great bass. I used to have X2 so I know the sound of it. It definitely has stronger bass, but bass is tighter and well punched on X3 and more than enough. If it's not enough, y'all should go with Beats cans. (Only headphones I liked with significant more bass than X3 is Fostex TH-X00 Ebony). These are very good, well-balanced cans which is a sure upgrade from X2, 6XX/600 (I dont have 660s, sundara, 880 so can't compare with them. but I own T1 2nd gen, MDR z7mk2, Nighthawk Carbon, HD6XX. X3 is a good addition for the collection). When I switched to dekoni leather pads, it immedietaly boost the bass a little too much. it change the sound signature completely almost like they are different cans. Gaining more bass may be good, but they also lost the clarity and balance. as a result, they sounded like old Dr.Dre cans which have muddy mirky sound signature without any balanced tonality. I was surprised actually because I was expecting very positive changes because of this review. I haven't tried the suedes pads yet. I will definitely try them out.

Sold out already. Well when time to change my pads I'll google this video again and check the link.

i bought the x2's from your original review. I use them for gaming and they've been great so far. My right earcup has started to disconnect. The screw backed out from the headband and now theres no sound. have you taken them apart or know how I can reconnect it? Thanks, love the vids. I'll probably be looking for a replacement now.

I paid 400 for my x2hr older version, or about 4 years ago. Is there a difference in the older to the new, or just price drop?

How long do these pads tend to last? I saw some harsh reviews on Amazon that say they wear out quickly in a matter of months, and I'm wondering if that's typical or a few bad cases.

Just picked up the dekoni suede ones for my X3's. They are extreme soft and comfortable but they make the X3's sound a bit muffled and quite basy. Kind of traps the sound so they're not that open wide anymore.

Tell them to make pads for the GL2000, big fat cozy suede mofo's!

how much does the leather pads decrease the soundstage for the X2? I want them to still feel like a open back headphone.

Keep in mind $40 can also buy you a 4 pack of Ippudo Instant Ramen from 7/11 Japan and as someone who's had most of the top Ramens in NYC and LA, that shit is bananas. If you haven't tried Instant Ramen from 7/11 Japan, you owe it to yourself. Comparable to Dekoni pads as far as that good feeling

"Only 20 left. Order soon." X2HR stock pads weren't that bad in terms of comfort. It was like sandpaper on my face initially, but it's fine now. What I really need is comfortable pads for the Sundara. X3 is like $600 in my country. So they can wait until my X2HR breaks in 10 years or so.

I got the Dekoni for my He400i's (which should work for the sundara's) and while not as easy as the peg system I found the leather ones quite nice for that headphone close enough with a tad more bass...I do want to try their hybrids though as they will be as close to the original focus pads. But I was nervous about their velour fabric would be itchy even though they claim it doesn't itch...Wish they did the suede for them....They look less itchy. The original hifiman pads I found to be itchy.

I got my X3 for 200€ on black friday. No regrets when it comes to sound. Pads are itchy af though.

The first good pair of headphones I got was the X2 back in around 2015 an replaced my old skullcandy earbuds and loved them. I accidently broke them and went a year without good headphones until I bought the HD 600. I now own the HD 600 58X Jubilee Grado SR80e and Hifiman 400SE and actually like the 58X more than all the others even for 80s-90s heavy/progressive metal that's mid range focused with a lot of high 5th octave notes. Maybe my ears just suck or I like "fun" headphones. I'm wondering if the drop 6XX would be better for what I like maybe or try getting another pair of X2HR version now. I never had the X2 at the same time with any other headphones or DACs or pads even EQ settings to compare them too.

I have the X2HR, almost got a X3, but many Pepole told me the X3 is not so good as the X2HR , i bought then a Audioquest Nighthawk Liquid wood. Best Headphone i ever had

My problem with the X2's is that they don't sit on my head well. I can fit my fingers under the headband when they are over my ears comfortably, and Phillips for some reason didn't include an adjustment for the height of the earcups. With the slightest movement, they start sliding down.

What audio software are you using for listening to music?

I bought the X2HR's the other day because I found a great deal for some NOS (€80) and it's kinda surreal to then use them while getting suggested this video by the algorithm. Welp, guess I'll be spending 50% of the value on some earpads.

I've got the Brainwavz Memory Foam Earpads, Round, Velour for my X2's for a while now. My original ones were very worn and comping apart after several years. These do the job right now. Good to know there's alternatives now.

Wich one will give me more bass on the X2HR? The Lether ones?

My X2 HRs just took one too many fall and one of the pins that hold the cup in place broke. Not sure if I can get it fixed, but if I can't, are there any recommendations for headphones with similar sound profile for 120€ or less? P.S. One screw later they are fine again :D

X2HRs with Sheepskin XLs are absolutely amazing.

Just bought the x3's this midday for 150 euro's. I think they wil be great with my Topping 50s series stack :) Just the cable is going to be sh!t. 3 mtrs too long.

I have the X2HR and the X3 and decided to just start with the Choice Suede and try them on both and see what i thought. Well i prefer them on both without question over the stock. Have read some comments where people say they ruin the stock sound. Not to my ears at all. Both have been really good. May try the leathers in a bit just to see what change may happen with those. I'll tell ya what surprised me the most is that it is hard to see the markings on the X3 as to which is left and right. Those drivers are angled at your ears. I had them on the wrong way for a good while and then flipped them to the "correct" orientation. I actually prefer them reversed by a long shot. Weird right! Try it for yourself if you own these. Only thing is you will have to reverse the left and right going into your device to get the correct left and right image. Testing it again right now before it typed this with two tracks i know very well. It sounds better like this for me. Really weird i know but hey....very cheap thing to try eh? :)

So is it worth to have both X2HR and X3?

Hey, I threw on the choice suede for my DT990s and I noticed the suedes have that small fabric that covers the driver. Would you recommend cutting that out because I feel like it’s muddying the mids and making the headphones a little dark. Note: like other beyers the DTs has fabric covering the driver already.

Ask them to get the gl2000s and just make the second set of pads but in suede haha.. The second set of large pads are great but I want the softness of the first set.....😅

damn if I don't love the x2hr's :( too bad every pair I've gotten has had a nuts channel imbalance below 200hz

You can absolutely change pads on the Fidelios, I have two pairs of brainwaves that I had previously swapped onto them. You pull the pads over the lip of the shell on either side except on one side you either have to pin-prick a hole in the fabric for the 3.5 mm jack or you pull back the pad fabric to inset the jack. Problem I found with the Fidelios is that pad swaps degrade the sound and characteristics that make it a solid headphone. Plus the Dekoni tape system sucks. It just flat out sucks. I bought the pads for the Mobius and they were a garbage fire of poor design and adhesion. I would HIGHLY CAUTION ⚠ anyone from taping or gluing pads to your headphones. It makes backsies a risky proposition whereby you can rip the fabric if you have to readjust them. Nice to see Dekoni doesn't rely on tape adhesion for these.
