They changed it. Instead of giving Bakugo one for all, he actually only gave him a portion of his power, allowing Bakugo to make temporary use of One for All. The past users retained themselves in midoriya and didn’t transfer the quirk, despite him transferring his DNA. What Midoriya perceived as losing one for all was his body giving out from all the damage.

Deku gets the power back and keeps it because bakugo passed out before the transfer of One For All fully completed so “his final smash” was never his last one. Deku just thought that since One For All partly transferred to bakugo and when One For All transfers, the person who used to use it loses it each time they use it as described by All For One, so when bakugo passes out, the power simply goes back to Deku

"what are the odds of bakugo just so happening to of lost the new powerful abilitys he gained earlier? like, it looked exactly like izuku's, what are the odds of that lol" -entirety of 1A's thoughts as that happened

Spoiler alert: And he did it again in the final war arc. Sacrificing all that power for the world, it just feels right.

Facts the sub was great

I think people want to quantify something like One For All with hard facts and percentages like an exact math problem. All of this stuff is always an approximation. None of it is exact science. Plus it is a Shonen anime where basically magical powers are a reality(there is no scientific explanation for quirks, they just started happening and obey zero laws of science or physics) So just because they have the super saiyan look doesn't mean they are at 100% and just because they have 100% full cowl doesn't mean it will automatically wreck them. All Might was able to use 100% pretty much from the start. He said. Bakugo could be similar. Plus....this was clearly more of a special technique than anything else. Bakugo didn't ingest any DNA, they shared blood with a wound. They shared the power which may have been why it wasn't too much for either. Plus All Might healed his arm with One For All during his final fight. So OFA is basically a power that unlocks all kind of special and spectacular abilities when needed. Plus, as Deku's baseline level of handling OFA increases, that means that his absolute ceiling in dire circumstances raises as well. We also don't fully understand the nature of Eri's quirk. Rewind yes, but for all we know, Deku breaking and being rewound to heal over and over may have weirdly made him stronger and more resilient. The rules are always able to be broken with OFA. That is sort of its purpose.
