Deku vs Class 1-A | My Hero Academia 

It's a testament to the quality of the writing. The entire series is about breaking down the illusion of perfect superheroes, and what a superhero society would be. Deku's rogue arc is another example of that: what happens when the selfless hero pushes themselves too far and stops caring about their own well being?

It’s dangerous for himself. He doesn’t care about himself as long as the people around him are safe he is fine with that. That is a problem that I have had for a while(not to deku’s extent) and I still have it. It is dangerous to an extent because if you don’t care about yourself you can get seriously hurt physically and emotionally. Deku is too selfless for his own good. The kid needs a big hug from everyone for what he puts himself through. He needs to learn that he matters too. He is definitely up there for favorite characters for me next to Uraraka and All Might for me

I think it's more than just that he lacks self-preservation. It's also that he hates himself, and thus doesn't see himself as worth anything beyond what he can do for others.

He was also sleep deprived, wounded and presumably starving since he barely stops to eat. And yet he was still able to avoid all of them. *And he's still not using true 100%*

Eh, comparing to 100% of all mights strength isn't so meaningful now anyway. He's reaching or exceeding it thanks to using his other quirks in combination. And some of those are more useful àt various things anyway.

I agree only thing is Bakugo or Todoroki weren't trying to hurt either. Old school Naruto would've been like "I'll break both your legs if you don't come back"

im sick of people saying that deku could claps them and the story nerf him so the class can win with the power of friendship. First deku was super tired and broken and the class wherent there to beat them they were there to help him and bring him back to the school so he can finally rest. Second deku might in a phase but he wouldn't hit his friends that would be super out of character, for all the people who keep complaing for dumbledore yelling at the students or luke skywalker tossing his lightsaber aside why no one would have beeing mad if deku hurt his friends too? he is not friggin eren yeager. Third this is not power of friend they didn't friggin beat a an OP villain with believing in team work like in fairy tail or SAO, they just helping deku to understand how lost he is to understand that he can't do things alone and not let him carry all that burden on his shoulders, you know when spiderman can fall into a breakdown when he fails but the has his friends to help him with his situation and most of them don't even has power like them. If these edgelord people really want things to go into the "ONE MORE DAY" storyline they really should understand how storytelling works.

It is safe to say that All Might he mostly acted alone, with little help. He alone defeated All for One twice. All Might ran through towns to save people alone. He became Symbol of Peace and hope and people lost hope when he retired from hero work. So Deku did exactly what All Might did. However, as Deku is not a complete vessel despite he can use more quirks than All Might. He is forced to master everything in short time and he doesn't have opportunity to mature both mentally and physically.

Deku said it himself, the problem was he believed they couldn't keep up with OFA and AFO, and honestly, he is kinda right. The only reason they can fight Shigaraki is thanks to Erasur head and AFO because plot.

I agree, and would go further to say that this arc is also the culmination of what Hero Society has done to Izuku: the bullying he suffered from for a decade, the responsibility of a volatile power that likely has its own agenda, the appallibg lack of self-worth in a world where your worth is defined by your power and the apathetic public all culminate in this arc. My only regret is that they didn't explore this mindset further woth Izuku, as ot wpuld have made him more human, more relatable.

@@PhoenixLance13 good point, but in the episode one of the heroes asked something along the lines of why all for one refuses to tell the world about deku and his quirk and the answer that was given was the fact that he doesn’t want deku to be coddled by heroes which will make it even harder to get one for all one. It seems like he doesn’t want to do a hostage scheme attack because that will make the heroes even more weary of deku and the situation. The only thing he’s after is deku

He was also completely reckless. He didn't care about himself and wouldn't take time to provide basic needs to himself. He wasn't at full strength and was definitely not in any shape to fight Shigaraki or AFO. He was barely functioning.
