Great interview man, I cheated by actually listening to the podcast rather than the video but wanted to make sure to comment on the video that I appreciate you being able to bring such talented people in and give them the space to tell their stories. It's crazy to me how many places Del was. It almost feels like his life is the movie and his character is the camera which travels to all these different places to cover so much.
Bro, thank YOU so much! 👊 this energy is exactly what I’m talking about, so I appreciate you commenting on it - Del truly was everywhere. I’m just so glad peeps watching are regarding him as the legend that he is 💯🙌 big up and thanks again my bro, means a lot you tuning in 👊
Catch A Bad One was the 1st song I rapped for my friends and tried to pass off as my own. Del had been dope from the 1st time I heard him on Mr. Dobalina(Mr. Bob Dobalina) and Ive never heard a wack verse from him. Appreciate ya, Del. Great podcast, Killa Kam. You get the doooope interviews. From Sandman to Del to A.Hammer. Kudos... If you could get Nocando or Open Mike, Id be giddy. Peace.
Ah man, love that love for Del - truly a supreme lyricist. 💯 appreciate the love for the pod too, for real - Open Mike we had on a while back, was a dope chat! Big up 👊👊
Always hyped to see Del getting a lotta love. In my opinion he’s the GOAT. Introspective lyrics, concept driven, with a flow and delivery that even if it dropped today would seem fresh. Deltron 3030 is peak Hip Hop and peak music in general. Dope interview, man!
@@crate808 This must be a surreal experience for you, interviewing your hero's on a regular basis. I'm here for it man. Quality work if you can get it haha!
@@crate808 Yup, and u would see them around town just kicking it. When I was in high school in Berkeley he worked at a big record store called Leopolds on Telegraph ave (UC Berkeley). No need for alarm/ 93 Til Infinity was rocking!
@@crate808 Subbed n mos def here to stay for the journey. Can't wait to catch up on all ur content, big vibes for my bed time show. PS got to mention, that rhyme u spit for the intro was unique AF ! Dude keep that shit cuz iss mad original and real ones will love it like I did. Much Love homie from BC, Canada!
@@emjay604 ah man thank you for that, means a lot - much love to Canada 🇨🇦 hope you enjoy the catalogue, we’ve had some GOATs on (plus some album dives you may like) 🙌
my dad was really tapped into the east bay music scenes when i was kid. i remember hearing del and his other projects, deltron 3030 and hieroglyphics all the time. very influential on my music taste today
Del is a special dude. My favourite rapper of all time. In my opinion the best rapper of all time. His lyrics hit you between the eyes and get those juices flowing from the pineal gland.
Deltrons are a work of art and they are beginning to age well. I was one of the poor few who had to wait an agonizing 10+ years for Event 2 to come out, but when it did it wasn't as good as part one. However it was an incredible album Thank you and God bless you for this interview of one of hip hops forgotten artifacts.May the world treat you good in uncertain times
Thank you so much for that love, really means a lot. Del’s entire career is incredible, Deltron arguably his pinnacle. Just so glad love for the legend is still rich today 🙏🔥💯
Dope interview! I seen a few videos highlighting which artist had the best 3-album run, Del should be in this conversation. His 1st 5-albums were magnificent! Besides his 1st 2-albums and Deltron, my favorite are “Future Development” and “Both Sides of the Brain”. Even the album he dropped on El-P’s label was above average. I to was listening to the Ultramagnetic Four Horsemen a lot lately. To me, 1993 was the 2nd greatest Year of Hip Hop Album releases (of course 1988 was the pinnacle!). The Four Horseman is a stand alone album. That FF Inner City Griots was in that stratosphere as well. Keith was superb on this album! His free /blank verses, internal rhyme patterns, the off-beat on beat.
Man I am here totally here for that Del AND Keith run - both had outstanding output for sure. Absolutely love the way Keith switched up those patterns, and ofc how that Horseman album still bangs today - appreciate you sharing that love for it too. 👊👊🔥🔥
Great interview, but wait! Get Del back here, I've got so many questions that no one seems to be asking him. Like, did he have a time machine when writing the Deltron 3030 albums? How was he able to so accurately foreshadow and infuse so many oddly specific things in to his lyrics? Both albums, from start to finish, seem to be hyper-relevant to the current state of our world today. Songs from 2001 that mention masks, and the transhumanist agenda, even says the phrase "No Malarkey" (which was the campaign slogan for our current president). Then in 2013 puts out an album called "Event 2" (like "Event 201". if you dont know what that is, please briefly look it up) and uses the phrase "warp speed" in that album countless times (warp speed being the name of the agenda to quickly produce and distribute the controversial vaccines). Then he talks about the "Osiris agenda" which is something that's absolutely being pushed onto an unwitting society today. The list goes on and on and on. There are so many crazy-prophetic things being laid out in the lyrics in both of those albums. For those of us with "eyes to see", theres a whole lot going on in his music. I would just love to ask him soooooo many questions!! But again, great interview, I really enjoyed it!
Ha ha ha, yo I had a whole other list of Deltron stuff to get into but just no time man 😭 but thank you for this love, and all those notes - big up 🔥🔥 if we ever get him on again we’ll have to go in for sure
This was so sick, Del struck a chord w/ me the first time I heard Both Sides of the Brain.. was blown away by that album when it came to his voice, creativity and skill on the Mic. (Beats go hard af too) Had to check out his other shit and low and behold, different, but just as dope. Del also has the ability to turn a bad mood around , pretty much without fail. This was great. If you could land an interview w/ Kool Keith too that would be crazy- definitely looking forward to that new project for sure.
Ah man, I am feeding off that energy - love that! Del truly is a legend, such an incredible career imo. And yeah we’ve been trying Keith and no luck so far, but hopefully one day. That new record could be nuts!
