The song I discovered this band with, went out & bought the record shortly after its release & been a fan ever since & will be seeing them live in April 2023
Delain awesome band with the legendary Charlotte wessels a legend in the music world with amazing vocals by her 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🥁🎤🎤🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
MY FIRST Rock band was evanesence, then WT and finally delain. i have listened tgoall symponic bands, but delain and WT forever! i was only 10 when i heard a WT album, 9 when evanesence thank ou for bringin ganother awsome band, england!
I only discovered Delain last night, if I wasn't working all this week I would so be getting a ticket to see them as I just noticed they are touring, wish I had heard of them sooner.
Delain have a very appealing sound. They write catchy music and I really enjoy the heavier aspect of it. Charlotte is a superb front woman too. She has a refreshing natural beauty about her.
Was able to see them in Reno, NV a few years ago, they were the opening band for Nightwish and some other band, that I spent outside smoking a cig, thankfully don't do that anymore, Delain SHOULD have been the middle band, but what they did play in 25- 30 min, they KILLED IT, the middle band, THEN Nightwish
I was so happy to see them in Columbus and meet the band after the show. Charlotte is so pretty up close! I had my picture taken with her, and the guys in the band were so cool and easy to talk to. I really hope I get to see them again.
These guys formed in 2005. People in the US are not that familiar with symphonic metal. This lady is a trained singer like most of the females in this genre. This is an excellent band from the Netherlands. There is a style that goes with the music but they are unique. I have listened to a lot of these groups. You have to be into the genre because it is mostly popular in Scandinavia and the Netherlands and only in certain circles in the US. Kamelot is the most known as a US band playing this style. They are fronted by a male and the first lead has retired and they have a new lead singer.
Veronica Daze I wouldn't say that the US is entirely unfamiliar with symphonic metal. I cannot speak for all metal fans here, but I personally am tired of them getting onto a ton of big tours here when, in my opinion, there are so many other very well deserving, excellent symphonic metal bands out there. Delain are definitely more on the commercially viable end of the metal spectrum. For once I'd like to see a band like Illuminata, Wildpath, Lapis Lazuli, Pythia, Xandria (they did tour with Sonata Arctica here and were incredible, but their set was only half the length of Delain), or bands that either go much faster/heavier on the metal element or that have more of the real deal opera singer on the symphonic element of it.
How could they have have been formed in 2005 if the music video for Frozen was recorded in 2004? It was released in 2006 but recorded in 2004. And the American form of symphonic metal is Evanescence. The reason it's not so big in the US is because we're more into metal you can mosh too. America produces bands like Exodus, Slipknot, Slayer and Death. While Europe produces bands like Eluvietie, Iron Maiden, Jinjer, and Delain.
@kevingthompson13 you´re right, one of the most majestic voices i´ve heard is simone´s when she sings kingdom of heaven, specially at paradiso 2011, and her voice is not only majestic and beautiful but also pretty dark, she´s unique
I started liking and listening rock when i was like 8... When i was 10 and got my first computer i listened mostly queen, then i found out rise against (american punkrock in case you didn't know) and later i started listening metal when i discovered nightwish (i was 12). I hated death metal by then, but now im starting to actually like it.. I mostly listen Kamelot right now but sometimes epica or WT or evanescence. Just found out delain. Awesome.
I kind of wish the song wasn't so edited fire the video, but I understand the nature of video. Any excuse to see charlotte sing. I wish delain would come to America.
I saw a dimmu borgir music video on youtube one day, and so I made a pandora station of it, from which I found avantasia. I made an avantasia station and found nightwish. I made a higher than hopes (NW song) station on pandora and found this song. I love pandora.
Look at bands like Unsun, Katra, Tristania, We Are The Fallen(has three former members of Within Temptation), Lacuna Coil. Therion, Serenity, Amberian Dawn, Coronatus, Ansoticca, Tarja(still just as good without Nightwish), and Elis. There may be some that I've missed, but these are fairly good bands that I've found here and there. And yeah, I first got into Symphonic metal and that kinda thing thanks to Nightwish. Though the first metal or rock band I listened to was Porcupine Tree.
Can't speak for the rest of the world, but... Kids and young adults in the United States need to heed this song, even more so than when it was released. 2:45 It keeps raining because we are tired. It keeps raining because we are Blind. Fortune smiles on YOU! You're NOT WATCHING! CREATE YOUR OWN FATE!!!!!!!
@kevingthompson13 yeah, I know Heidi and Amberian very well, and I think they´re awesome, fields of serpents, incubus, valkiries, they´re some of my favourite songs
It's hard for me to believe that one year ago, I was just getting into them and then one year later, I'm standing by the merch stand at El Corazon and I'm hugging Charlotte and Martijn(also got to hug Timo and Otto)!
