I’m a Korean guy who spent 2 semesters in Deland, Stetson University. Now I look back my memory during the time, it was the best time of my life. Deland is such a peaceful town with nicest people you can have with. Me and my local friends always went to the bar called ‘Brick house’, but recently I heard they closed the shop which made me so sad. All in all. My 1 year in Deland and Stetson university made what I am now😊. I really want to go back to the town to see those little lizards someday
I've lived in Florida for 54 years now, I've have been to Daytona Beach, but I never have been to DeLand. I'm going to drive over within the month, to visit DeLand. I want to check it out
I went to several of the places in this video. Thank you for awesome content! Tracy at Pretty Little Things was awesome! Kindred Spirit! I love all your videos and love that you grew up in Gatlinburg! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜💖
On top of the Athens Theatre there are four pan faced gargoyles. I've got gargoyle #5. During the remodel they made 5 just in case they dropped one. I've lived a few blocks up W. Rich for 30yrs and love walking downtown and through Stetson. My daughter is getting married dowtown at the end of May.
Another GREAT video, and so close to us (we're in New Smyrna Beach)! We will definitely check out the places in town. Thanks for educating and entertaining!
We've been to Deland, beautiful community!!! Ty for sharing, such great ideas. Blue Springs is beautiful. Never knew Kermits was there, we always talk about the Keys on...that's a gem that will be going to in a couple weeks! Love the Arts/Gallery area. Another great Vlog Chad! Ty. Some great places we haven't been as yet-but we'll be sure to check them out on our next trek.
Very nice video. I went to Sanford last week and took your advice on the cornbread ice cream… WOW. I am going to have to make my way to Deland. I didn’t know there was that much to do there. Thanks for sharing
Unfortunately you forgot to add the Christian heritage and history of the town. And missed the fact Mr Stetson founded a Southern Baptist College that was in place for decades and had a very positive influence on DeLand until the secular side took it over and now DeLand, once a very spiritual little town has become a money maker with unsightly sculptures and new age monuments.
The murals are great showing the history of the area but the sculptures are just ugly no sense or reason to them it was a much better and much more friendly 30 years ago they have ruined the whole area I avoid downtown as much as possible
