Delete a Signal group, how to leave and delete a group on Signal Messenger.
Today we'll take a look at how to leave and delete a group in Signal messaging.
To begin with, we will go to the group in question.
And there, to do this, we have two steps to follow.
For the first, we will press the group avatar to go to its settings.
Then, below, we will remove each member of this group.
The goal is to become the only participant.
You just have to select them.
To press “remove from group”, here.
And confirm the deletion.
To check if you are the only participant, you can see it in this list.
And also, by returning to the discussion.
We are then shown the people who have been withdrawn.
And that only us remain as the only member.
For the second step, we will go back to the settings.
And this time, at the bottom, we will choose to “leave the group”.
While confirming that we will no longer be able to communicate in this one.
Then, on the home screen, we are told that we have left the group.
Finally, to delete it, we just have to delete the conversation.
By keeping it pressed, we will therefore select the recycle bin and validate this deletion.
Important information, in the Signal application, if you delete a group, you delete a group conversation.
This means that even if its history is no longer available on our side, on the account of the former participants, the old messages are still available there as long as they will not have deleted this group conversation on their side.
