Thankyou for the great video. I do feel that Google need to fix this situation though, as it is ridiculous. Anyone with a Google account can upload completely irrelevant photo's to a business listing in seconds. There is no review of the content uploaded, and them pictures are instantly live. After they are flagged by the business, it then takes Google at least 2 weeks, possibly months for them to get around to removing them. It is a system that is very open to being abused, simply because there are absolutely no safeguards to prevent abuse. Meanwhile, the business owner has no option except to sit on their hands and wait/pray for Google to remove bad content after it's been flagged. They need to fix that and make it as quick to have malicious content removed as it is to upload it. Photo's that have been flagged by the business owner need to be removed immediately pending human assessment, and only made live again if Google finds them photo's are not infringing the "user contributed content policy" when they finally do get around to assessing them.

Thank you. I find it absolutely insane that business owners have no ability to moderate the photos on their own listings. Just goes to show we're a product for Google to sell, nothing more.

Does leaving a relevant Google review with a geotagged image have any impact upon GMB? Can it be used as an exploit for tastefully propagating my image content around the web ? Do my geo-tagged images have any impact from other GMB accounts? FYI - you can also ask current customers to flag the image from a business knowledge panel in the SERP. This will likely expedite the process, as Google will deem the removal request more valid.

This is basic stuff. Why as a business owner can't I delete badly taken photos of my business or photos that show stock that I had 2 years ago and are irrelevant today? I guess the solution is just to swamp bad customer photos by repeatedly posting our well taken ones.

great video... i have this same issue and the unwanted picture isn't just posted in the reviews it is also the first picture that comes up on my business page when searching for local florist in my area. my question is, if i can not get the picture removed can i atleast change it from being the main picture that advertises my business. when you directly search my business page the right profile picture appears, but when just searching for local florist in my area the unwanted picture appears to be my business profile picture. please help

I have flagged a photo a dozen times over a year and they still have not taken down a photo; it's an old picture a customer posted of my store before I relocated. And somehow it's the first one that shows up even though it's the oldest one and most inaccurate!! UGH

I have a school listed and some random person posted a photo of a nearby supermarket and unfortunately, it is shown as the main photo of the school. My staff and friends have made over 100 complaints to Google about this but nothing has been done. I was thinking of removing the listing and relisting but would lose all our good reviews. This is a disgraceful policy from Google. It is my business but someone else can ruin it!!!!

@@rankingacademy I put in 4 official complaints but got no answer from Google. Finally, I emailed the person who posted the wrong photo and he was kind enough to remove it. I am very angry with Google for allowing customers post photos which would sometimes damage a business yet the owner cannot remove them.

@@rankingacademy Some of the photos were posted by our company. Others were added by Google, I think. We'd like to remove some very old pics and definitely remove the photos that don't have anything to do with our business.

Is it possible to have the street view photo removed? I m in the trades service industry, therefore customers don't come to me. The street view image only displays because you have added an address to your profile. Since you don't serve customers at the address you should remove it and specify the service area you work in. This will remove the street view image from your profile

Yes, firstly there will be no pin on the map to indicate where your business is located. This makes sense since nobody needs to go there but I know some business owners don't like the idea of not seeing a pin on the map for their business. Instead you will see a service area that is traced based on the information you have provided. Also it might mean some of your rankings will drop. Thank you so much for sharing this knowledge. I think in case of a video, it will be the same process. I had faced this problem and couldn't delete a video. Then delete the Google business profile and create a new one. But it is still showing mobile number is under review. Top of the screen it's showing "your updates will appear on Google after they've been reviewed". Please suggest what can I do. I can't add logo and cover also.

Yes, right. But then my business was some years old. So something has been modified now, like business address etc. But mobile no is same. I had deleted previous business profile completely.

Really?. It sounds very odd. Have you tried creating identical posts for both accounts just to make sure it's an issue on the GMB sides? If so try flagging it using the google my business community support: support.google.com/business/community

I did flag many times. But some fraudster upload fake image after couple of days. I did it every single day. Really it is very frustrating. I block them but they upload with new accounts. Is there any way or permanent solution of this problem?

I have done this many times and no action has been taken by google at all. I'm still stuck with some pictures that have nothing to do with my business, cause some neighbourhood kids added some pictures to my business accidentally

Hi there,sorry to hear you have been unsuccessful removing some of these pictures. I know it's frustrating. What i would suggest is to publish more photos on your business listing ( ask some of your friends to do this with their own Google account) so the pictures that have been posted by mistake are somehow drowned within the rest. Also, keep trying the various Technics I have mentioned especially the Google my business forum

"Frustrating" in specially when you post photos of disgusting food bought from catering business, and 2 month later you see that your photos have disappeared. What the f is the point of placing reviews and photos when the business owner can simply delete all the photos that show how bad is his business?

how does google choose the main pictures before you click on photos . I know it has something to do with location by the outside walls

You can load an image as your preferred choice for you main photo however it doesn't mean Google's algorithm will show that image. It will give the image you have chosen preference but if Google feels that there is another image available that can improve user experience, it will substitute your chosen image for another one.

@@rankingacademy ...yes ive done trials with picture location on places and the picture google seems to use is on the perimeter of the business inside or out.... for the main page 6 or 7 photos before you see all the photos . with 7 million views on my google account some get massive hits like 200,000 views a year and some get 10 views a year and some never make it on the page but still show up in my account and I cant reupload the pictures... every where I look to see how google chooses photos ( or how they think a photo should look or requirements to be top pics ) I cant find ?????????? I try to help businesses out with real photos and real video of places because the stock photo of some where is usually not going to be a good experience !

we market for a car dealership. their competitor has posted 25 photos to their google listing. The photos are of the correct dealership so there is nothing wrong with them. but when you click on the photo the competitors name comes up because they are the ones that posted them. Is that a common practice? Does that help them steal some of their business?

Hi Dawn. I haven't seen anything like this happen yet. To be honest I am not sure how they will benefit from that. I doubt very much they will be able to steal business from you with that kind of strategy. They should focus more on working on what counts. If anything, adding images will help your profile.

MotorClassics He has giving you the steps to take to try & get them removed within the "laws of google" what else can he do. Don't shoot the messenger Bet you didn't bodder to take all the 4 suggestions he has suggested & try each one. If you want the view from the mountain you got to climb the mountain. Stop been lazy & go do it & then come back & comment like I stopped been a lazy f**cker as suggested & tried all the steps & it worked or it didn't.
