Luggage restrictions: usually Air India allows two bags of 23kgs each. Because of Covid19 did they have a new limit for these VandeBharat flights? 2. Cabin luggage restrictions: Was there some restrictions (other than usual 7kg, non-flammable,non threatning items) in carrying any items with you on to the cabin? Like packed snacksor clothes are still allowed? 3. Social distancing in seating on plane: how did the seat layout look like? I assume from ur video that you travelled alone. Were you able to see how families were seated? Together? Or one seat in between? 4. Accomodation arrangements for quarantine in Canada: Did they ask about ur arrangements for quarantining? At what stage of the entire trip were these questions asked? Thanks in advance!

There was no vacant seat as the flights were totally full however Airindia was making sure about safety and also lots of families were traveling too. Thanks for the video. Much appreciated. Few questions for you- Do we need to register in MOCA also before leaving India ? What you ordered was Asian Vegetarian meal ? Apart from our own sanitizers bottles..did they keep any sanitizers bottles for everyone's use near to seats or outside washrooms etc
Thank you for your feedback. I didn’t register with MOCA or Canadian HC in India. Strongly recommend to confirm your meal preference from website or Air India app. Online Check in will open in 48hrs prior to your flight. You will see sanitizers at check in counters, security check in counters and even in washrooms on the plane. I used the sanitizer to clean the tap and seat in washroom. You could spray it.
Hello Vikram ji.. good to see that you finally made it to Canada. Could you also a video for students who are planning to visit Canada this fall? The one question which worries me alot is if the immigration officer asks why are you visiting Canada even though your classes are online? Really don't know how to anwer this question.
Hello Asheesh, yes finally back home here in Canada. I was still at home in Chandigarh but had to come back here too. I will surely make a video on that but will do so after proper research because I don’t want to share any non-credible information. I didn’t see any students though from the looks. But will do a video for sure :-)
Hi thanks on the video gave a sense of positivity to travel in these crucial time , can you also please share how did you travel from Pearson airport to the place of quarantine, can a friend pick you up? and is there any quarantine option in the airport if so cost if you have any idea on it would really be great if you can make a video on it too
Hey Avinash, thanks for your comment. Not sure about the friend but my relative picked me up. So depends in your case how you want to answer the question. What I know of, there is no quarantine option at the airport except that if you’re staying in a hotel. My next video is about additional tips focussing on luggage restrictions, in flight info and what to expect at the immigration border control specially for the PRs or COPRs.

Hey Sam. Thank you for your feedback. When I came back, I wasn’t ask to prove if my travel was essential or not however my wife was still in Canada and alone so I told the officer that I’m returning home to my family and I work in recruitment so I told about that too. They asked me if I understand the rules. I just said yes I understand that I have to do self quarantine and stay away from elders and kids etc. You’ll be given a pamphlet as well with rules and regulations so I showed him that too. You’re welcome. I was able to take my own food, snacks and water inside the flight. Air India had also provided enough food and snacks. This was in May when I returned to Canada. I am not sure what is the situation now regarding food. I would recommend contacting the airline customer care to know the updates on this.

I flew 2 weeks ago when domestic flights didn’t start. I had my big water bottle and lots of snacks in my cabin bag. Not sure if they will allow now or not. But still take it. You will still have to pass it through the security check X-ray.

As I mentioned, I’m a PR and I was sitting in front of the plane not back so I could disembark quickly. Immigration process took me less than 5 mins because I had only 3 Canadians or PRs in front of me in the queue.so I had left majority rush behind me. It took me 45 mins for the baggage collection because the staff was putting it on the floor also. Make sure to put identification tags or a ribbon in your baggage so you can easily identify it

Hello Lavanya, very tricky question. Students who got SP approved before 18 March, 2020 can go if they’re able to prove the “need” to go to Canada because if the institute wants you there, you have to go (but majority institutes have started there online classes for May session and Fall session so you have to see) otherwise you will not be allowed to board and your money will be stuck with Air India. Be very mindful in taking this step. Hey bud. Glad to know that you were able to secure your seat for toronto. Not really sure about domestic checking but you might have to pay extra unless air India says that your luggage is booked till Vancouver. Immigration point of view, they will ask standard questions about your address in Vancouver, if there are any senior citizens or kids you going to be staying with. They might ask why you traveled outside Canada and why you’re coming back. They will ask you if you’re aware of self quarantine rules. I am a PR and I didn’t get asked much questions because I was returning. He confirmed my address and rules of self quarantine and that’s it. I spent only 2 mins at immigration counter. What will happen at Vancouver airport, I can’t really say but may be same.
I am having open work permit issued on 13th January 2020 and have valid visa till September 2020 (Student Visa) and i have booked flight form Delhi to Toronto, am i eligible to board the flight? Hello, what I know of is that work permit people were allowed to return who were already on WP when they went back home. My family friend’s daughter was on WP and she returned last week. Once you’re on WP, you have to apply for temporary resident visa. You can’t use your study visa to enter because your category already changed. That’s the process I followed 4 years ago. I would recommend to check with IRCC about this before you travel.
@@thecanadianpunjabicouple2726 Thank you for your reply. When i traveled in January i was carrying the student visa (Work PERMIT) and i was supposed to apply for TRV but the visa centers were closed due to CoviD-19, I am just hoping they will allow me to travel.
I hope so too. Because leaving Canada is not a trouble. But coming back might be a trouble. Because you have already changed your status to work permit but don’t have a visa yet. Hi, I am CoPR holder, my application was approved on March 10. I have a flight to Toronto and then domestic flight to Vancouver where I will be self quarantined. What should expect at the immigration counter.
Hello Sutandar. As Toronto will be your first port of entry, your immigration will be processed there. They will check your COPR documents and verbally confirm the details as mentioned in your COPR. You have to declare the finances as per the format. If you’re bringing cash more than 10,000USD you have to declare that too. In the declaration form, you have to put the address of Vancouver place where you will quarantine.. CBSA officer will confirm the details with you. Questions may vary that you’d be asked. Hello Sarpreet, you have to check with Canadian High Commission in in the country you live. If your college or university already has online classes for the program you got admission in, it would be really tough to take Air India flight. A lot of students were not allowed to board the flight because it was "non-essential travel". Even if you buy ticket, you will not be allowed to board the flight. Avoid harassment. better to contact Canadian HC and get a permission from them.
When was your work permit issued? As of now people having WP issues till March 18, 2020 are allowed in Air India flights. You should also have your temporary resident visa to travel back because a permit doesn’t allow you to return.
@@thecanadianpunjabicouple2726 my work permit was issued on Feb 2020. Joining date was on April 2020. In IRCC its mentioned that if you have valid job offer and your employer is waiting then traveling is possible. I'm new to Canada.
That is correct. Is that a spousal work permit or you got LMIA WP? If you applied from India then you must have received a temporary foreign worker visa on your passport. You have your job offer letter then it is sufficient to show to Air India staff, immigration in India as well as to CBSA officers in Canada.
