This machine (apparently) _is_ named after Delia Derbyshire. (BBC radiophonic workshop 1960s - Dr.Who theme music was hers, and a lot else besides)

Would of been good seeing you actively jumping between different patches and seeing the knobs spin as you lay down a new 8 bar loop on an 8 track looper, maybe you did, and maybe I was just in awe with the sounds to realise

It's very interesting that this is priced below the Nina, and doesn't carry quite all of the Nina's features, so I don't think you could call this the Nina's "successor" or say that this makes the Nina obsolete. I'm wondering how market analysis fed into this design. I'm still wanting to eventually get both.

@@melbourneinstruments While working on a human-computer interface project for a while, I did some study of user interfaces and ways to add new input modalities to touch screens, etc. I have to say that your work with the motorized/haptic rotary encoders is really amazing. I'd imagine that just setting up the knobs to test the feel of the haptic selector must be a lot of fun just by itself. :-)

i wish nord would take a lesson from that company... $3600 for a keyboard and no motorized knobs... it's a pain changing presets and not know the value where a given setting is...

It reminds me more of Aphex Twin, Orbital and The chemical brothers than TD. Mainly because TD are more associated with the PPG sound.

@@ardiris2715 It's not THAT versatile. Only 6 voices, only 49 keys, only bi-timbral, only channel aftertouch. Lots of better options out there. And the motorized knobs, I think it's more of a con than a pro. It's only highlight is it has 4 oscs, which is a rare thing.

This thing sounds great! The motorised knobs are very cool, but I still can't figure out whether they are cheaper to make than an LED ring. Wouldn't an LED ring be just as good for showing positions? It would be less cool, of course, but if it were cheaper, a lot of people would like it...

Man, I wish I could improvise the way you can. I'm strictly "in the box" and build things up like a sculpture, one note at a time, one drum hit at a time. It's fun and very rewarding in the end but, it time consuming.

The looper right next to the Delia with the big light up buttons is a Boss RC-505 II. The drum machine a bit further is a Roland tr-8s

Nice. But not great. It has Only 6 voice polyphony, it has Only 49 keys, it has Only channel aftertouch and it's Only bitimbral. Not worthy of 2690 euros. Not even half of that. NEEXT!

Great demo; best I've seen to date. I love that you really seemed to be enjoying playing Delia. For me that speaks louder than detailed feature examinations and preset walkthroughs. I thought initially that with the motorised pots it was just a gimmick synth but you convinced me that it is musical as well.
