when I was in Israel last year, I ate at a beachside restaurant in Tel Aviv. It was a seafood restaurant, but they went out of their way to meet my dietary requests. Anyway, they made a red rice, into a pilaf, and it had onion, garlic, peas, fresh pineapple bits and pomegranate seeds in it. It was very simple and delicious. It was my first time having red rice. Very good! They served it to me with grilled veggies, tons of them, and of course the typical hummus and flatbread ( that was not whole grain...lol...) but that rice dish was delicious, and I have it on my list to replicate.
I would have liked to show them how to make oil free hummus, but I did not. But they were kind and brought me raw veggies to relace the flatbread. So, even though there was oil in what they served me, I know it can be replicated easily without oil.
My daughter and I recently made a cheat fried rice using riced cauliflower I stead of rice with the onion and other veggies and it was amazing. We will have to try it your way soon. Thank you for sharing
@LueNeil Armstrong did you get the name of all of the sauce she put in the pot? I could not understand what the names was, and the video was not that good to see it was blurry I really need those sauce and yes, I'm going to buy her books. Just found her channel and I love it me and my family will change the way we eat.
Your cooking inspired me. I took the cauliflower bisque (your recipe) I’d made a while ago (and frozen)....heated it up...added chickpeas I’d cooked and some frozen chopped spinach...yum.
AJ I have watched a lot of your videos over the years and I'm revisiting this video and I admire your grit and determination to eat healthier. I have to say that in my home Teflon coated pans and microwaves toxify foods, so they do not fit into my healthy eating plan. Also, the science says that rice and other starchy foods shouldn't be microwaved.
lived in hawaii for yrs, husband from Hawaii. All u need is some green onion , fry up the cooked rice without oil and add cooked veges. Dont need all those onions. It is so simple. Add just 1 tsp of coconut aminos and of course some ginger. very simple dish.
Fellow Aussies-Australia Post has a "Shopmate" centre in Portland Oregon-register for Shopmate at AusPost and then American companies can post to Shopmate in Oregon, and Australia Post gets it from there, to Australia and your postal address. It adds another cost to the cost of the item, but it means you can buy from American companies who don't ship to Australia. I've used it a few times and it works very well.
I totally agree how great you look and young you look . You really don’t need any makeup.but anyway thank you so for showing me and all of us you’re wonderful vedio’s and you eat and cook.I just started my journey on plant based this month. From doing keto 5 years.
Please share the website for balsamic vinegars. I couldn't quite understand the name. This looks delicious! I'm making you Zoodles pomodoro this weekend!
Thank you so much Chef AJ I love watching your videos and have learned so much. P.S. you look amazing without make up, actually I think your skin looks super healthy and younger, just saying.
This is such as great idea!!! I just made your pineapple bowl for lunch and had it for dinner as well, using Trader Joe’s brown rice, I used a TJ’s mirepoix as the base and added cabbage along with other goodies! It was sooo delicious!! The canned pineapple in its own juice was a genius idea! Tomorrow I am making your Yummy sauce....and tonight I roasted 4 Japanese eggplants to satisfy my sweet tooth for the next few days! You inspire greatness! ❤️❤️🍠🍠🍠
Thank you so much Chef AJ for sharing this delicious and healthy recipe, i was going to ask you if you have a cookbook where i can find this recipe and others ones, i recently changed to a plant base diet and i have a hard time finding good recipes for the whole family, if you be so kind and share the title of your cookbook so i can purchased it at my local bookstore :Barnes and Noble, thank you again and have a blessed day😊🌺🌸🌹
You are fabulous! I cant believe how much free information you put out there for people. I wanted to purchase a few of your product recommendations, (like the tupperware food processor) but I cant find your amazon store front page on your website and its hard to find them in your favorite things page. Any suggestions?
Chef AJ I love watching your videos it would be great if you told everyone your health stats such as blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar levels because you epitomise healthy eating and you’re a great advert for promoting success stories! 🙏🏻😊x
I have said it often but here it is. BP is 88/54 usually. Cholesterol 99-123, LDL 57mg/dl, triglycerides 47, blood sugar 84. BMI us 19. Thats about all I remember
Thanks AJ I love all of those vegetables especially cabbage but that specific vegetable cuase me digestive grief. 😥 sometime I use it in soups for a lot of added flavor or steam it and stuff it into a potatoe and just deal with the gas and bloating.
I just found your channel. I bought your book a couple yrs ago, unprocessed, and forgot about it. 😔 I'm a vegan though & don't ever eat anything processed.
Most women don't realize they look younger with less make-up. You're in your 50s yet look to be in your 30s. I know the WFPB diet makes us look younger because of the wonderful regenerating power of plants, but the no-make-up style looks fantastic on you, plus you're rocking a great summer tan! I'm also loving the shorter videos! Keep inspiring us!
You knock the spoon on the pot like my mum makes the neighbours know that shes cooking something delish. And your food thus looks delish and am sure it taste delish also. But pardon me if am out of place in recomending that you use another spoon or small bread knife for scraping the food stuff of the cooking spoon. Listening on my headset the knocking is right in my ears. Keep up the healthy cooking loving them.
Hi AJ! May I recommend you use wooden or stainless steel cooking utensils rather than plastic ones? I personally don't trust that it's safe to use plastic, especially around heat, as it may leach plastic particles into your food!
The first time I saw You use the chopper I knew I had to have. We traveled full time in camper. It is great for that and home. Yes you can rv full time and eat wfpb. Me and my husband lost over a 100 lbs
Chef AJ; Bump Those Veggies Up with Cauliflower Rice (Looks Like Rice, But is Really Cauliflower) !!! Cauliflower Rice, now in Supermarkets !!! I Do Eat Brown Rice, but my White Rice is Cauliflower Rice !!! Mostly, any more, I mix my rice with Tricolor Quinoa, White or Brown !!!
Sure.....www.bemaandpas.com 708-247-2688 i did not know about the Chef AJ discount when I ordered. The vinegars came very well packaged. Not a drop leaked.
What's the name of the website where they sell those flavored balsamic vinegars again? You said it, but I can't figure out the spelling and tried to find it online. Can you please spell it out? Thanks
I've made it before myself. There are videos on RU-vid about making sauerkraut without salt. It doesn't last indefinitely like the regular preparation though, but it should hold up in the fridge for at least a month. You could easily just place shredded cabbage in a jar, cover it with bottled water making sure the strands of cabbage are pressed down beneath the water and let it sit at room temperature for around 36hrs or longer. A tablespoon of liquid from a previous batch helps get the process going (and shortens the fermentation time) but isn't needed.
I have both Unprocessed and The Secret to Ultimate Weight Loss. I looked in both books for this recipe, but couldn't find it. Does anyone know where to find it?
I can’t find that Tupperware appliances on the website. What is it called? Really cool! I’m not sure they make it anymore. If I had name, I could search for it.
@Txnative ; how can you possibly get fat on carbs when you hv taken away sugar, salt and oil. On top of all that vegan. This diet is an obvious weight looser. I mean really? You took away meat, meat by products, salt, sugar, fat, eggs, If you were to build a supermarket based on this type of eating, all you would need would be three aisles Fruits/veggies/potatoes/herbs, Water Rice, cereal, pasta, pasta sauce That’s it. Here is the question? IS IT SUSTAINABLE, !!!! IS IT SUSTAINABLE !!!!! You Ma’m hv a RU-vid channel that keeps you on track bc you want to participate in helping folks do this type of eating habits. You write books about it, so this is your career and income. For you there’s a reward in sustaining this type of diet. But for most people, eating is a pleasure. And although many hv fallen in the pleasure trap, taking everything away from any pleasure will only lead to disappointment. Your concept and the good Dr. Doug hv taken this idea to the complete left, a completely minimalist way of eating. The Asians including the Japanese (which eat very clean) include soy sauce, mirin (sugar) seafood, pork, WHITE RICE, WHITE NOODLES, WHITE DUMPLINGS, and SESAME OIL in their everyday diet. They are very slim people. Very thin and well proportioned. How is this possible if they do not adhere to any of the principals Dr. Doug concludes.
