@@eggsalad44 chapter 2, I think it's possible that each episode will cover 2 episode so maybe we're getting a good 50 episode ish Anime that could cover the whole Manga Maybe 12 episodes per Season getting us 4 ish season or 25 each And after I check, each possibility ends perfectly with how the Manga got cut up with its arc! ^^
Dungeon Meshi is my top 2 manga of all time, beating some that I had in my personal top for yeeeears. The plot goes deep while keeping its eccentric sense of humor. Made me cry, made me laugh, never got 'weird' like some shows do (I mean, they're all weirdos but not in a disgusting way). Enjoy!

Are you guys seriously calling what you had a "Discussion"? Thats disappointing. There was enough revealed in this first episode that you might've feasibly done an hour long podcast, rather than something under-4-minutes, and hardly even qualifying as a summery. You didn't see any goals? The very first scene of the series introduced the obvious unstated aim of any would-be adventurer trying to conquer the dungeon. And do you remember how the dragon is on a level far below? We GOT a vertical map of the dungeon in the middle of the episode. No going back and analyzing that? It would do a world a good in predicting the sort of short term goals that party will have till we reach it. Just getting to that dragon with bellies full enough to competently fight it despite being down half the party and not having provisions will be challenging enough. And you guys didn't have even a word to say about the characters we've met so far? Despite the others in the ending, the ones we've met are definitely our main 4, and even disregarding how each is a different species, they've all got very distinct characterization if you pay enough attention. Hell, just a basic analysis of Senshi's character design could probably tell you all you need to know about him, how he fights, what he cares about, and what his major character weaknesses are for dungeon delving. This anime's manga is popular for a number of reasons, but it being a lighthearted fun food-porn is definitely not up there. This world (and particularly this dungeon and everything relating to it) is more well thought out than just about any other fantasy world I've ever seen, including masterpieces like Frieren, and it lends itself fantastically to the sort of analysis and speculation that you didn't do.
As a certified Dungeon Meshi manga reader I get your frustrations but making a essay about how they didn't have a 1 hour discussion is ridiculous. Let them enjoy the story as it plays out, it's a slow starter after all and it's only the first episode. I love Dungeon Meshi and I want more people to like it too, this whole comment is the epitome of gatekeeping a series that needs more interest and makes you seem like a contrarian smart ass instead of wanting to promote the series if anything.
Please take some pointers from your profile pic and chill dude. I get where you're coming from as a manga reader myself--there's a LOT of depth to this series! They will absolutely start to understand that as time goes on considering what they watch and how they discuss things.
@@friedcorm Exactly. I'm also a HUGE fan of Dungeon Meshi and I do know that it's much deeper than just "Food but make it fantasy", but jesus, this kind of comment from OP is the type of things fans say that will turn off a newbie from ever interacting with it again
@@friedcorm It didn't need to be a 1 hour discussion, obviously. You know what I meant. And the length of my comment is just what it ended up as once I'd typed out my mind. Should I have deleted large swaths of it just to spare the feelings of content creators who might've not even read it? And who would've surely skimmed it otherwise? If I didn't add examples to my critisism on the off chance that they did read it, then it truly would've just been hate, and wouldn't have been constructive otherwise. So honestly, this is what I most wanted them to see. Though saying that they should be ashamed, though half-meant, might've been a bit too far. EDIT: So after some thought, at everyone's insistence, I'll make the comment slightly nicer.
