Jane shouldn't be ashamed of her sister. A burlesque dancer ( stripper ) is not a prostitute or pornstar actress. She dances and performs artfully on stage. There is no actual sex involved.
You can hear the french horns paying in the opening sequence, yet there they sit with instruments in their lap, counting measures or something lol. Film editor apparently didn't know shit about orchestras or music hahahahah. Of course the great Morton Gould was not consulted.

This was not Jane Powell's favorite movie. She was only 18 when she made it, her second film. But it has more than a few moments of excellent comedy that gives the movie charm. Worth the look see.
A supporting cast of Morton Gould, Ralph Bellamy, Constance Moore, Arthur Treacher, Louise Beavers added to the overall success of the film's production.
Jane Powell as a brunette. A surprise. While I enjoyed the film it was choppy. I got the impression this was made to showcase Miss Powell. I never heard of Constance Moore but she was a beautiful talented lady. Louise Beavers and Arthur Treacher were best in their roles. The others seemed forced. Worth watching but just.
