We are told that black Americans that we should not view ourselves any different from other black people in the diaspora, yep that's standard is not applied to the actual diaspora. In the 2024 Olympics 100m race, Sha'Carri placed 2nd to Julien Alfred from St. Lucia, Caribbeans are delineating themselves from Black Americans. Richardson story to me is one of the greatest stories in sports, regardless of her not winning she is a winner, who has turned disappointment in her own self into dominance. Love that lady's intensity and determination. The Olympics here in the USA are celebrated more in hometown areas.

The Caribbeans can be proud and celebrate, more power to them. However that lady that was flexing was dressed like an FBA female not in the tradition dress of her folks. Whyte folk will let blacks talk about Black Power all day and let them rent venues to celebrate because at the end of the day they know they are the ones in power. Paul Cuffe Sr. ( 1759 - 1817 ) was a Foundational Black American Freeman who owned a wealthy shipping company and he had used his time and resources towards fighting to end slavery and supporting a back to Africa movement way before Marcus Garvey . The FBA people has always extended themselves to Aftica and supported Black unity , but the Black foreign diaspora rather prioritize nationality over B1 . Waving their foreign flags and hustling to get " things " are their prime concern . This is what Marcus Garvey had to learn the hardway about the Black foreign diaspora when he tried duplicating the Black unity movement in the United States back in Jamaica and he ended up having rocks thrown at him , which eventually caused him to leave Jamaica for the U.K. .

I feel the same way. I still love the diaspora and value all parts period. But establishing our own identity is vital to hold onto our culture as best we can. culture has value over everything in the modern day cuz so many gave theirs up to get ahead. AA are valuable cuz we never gave it up to conform as a whole so now we are an easily identifiable culture. others want to bank off it while acting like they look down on us. I wouldn't mind them borrowing our culture if there was equal respect but there never was and it's a huge betrayal that will take FBA's a while to get past.

Simone is Black American. Her STEP grandmother, who is her grandfathers SECIND wife, is from the Caribbean. SHE is not Simkne’s biological grandmother or mother. Her grandparents adopted her and her sister. Simone herself is not from the Caribbean and that has already been cleared up. Let’s don’t start that. It’s hater behavior.
