If you haven't played it I recommend it there is a line in final fantasy 14 I love in one of the most intense scene "the Victor shall write the tale and the vanquish become its villan. But come let us cast aside titles and pretenses and reveal our true faces to one another."

Delita united Ivalice, become it's king, and went on to have a successful rule for many years to come. The people loved and revered him as a hero, while demonizing Ramza as a bleeding heretic. The biggest difference between the two is that the people who were close to Delita and knew him, detested him, while the people who were close to Ramza loved and respected him. When Delita asked "Ramza what was your end in all this? I got this." He realized his failure. I'm not talking about becoming King, I'm talking about his sister Teta. Let's not forget the reason why Delita started down his path. Is this what she would've wanted? What would Teta think of her brother if she saw him dressed as royalty, standing over the corpse of his wife, having killed her because his lies and manipulation literally drove her mad? Delita may have been a hero and successfully ruled Ivalice, but I doubt he was ever truly happy after that. His cruel actions against the ONLY people who ever cared about him, probably haunted him for the rest of his life. Ramza on the other hand rode off into the sunset with his sister, the one person he cared for the most. He wasn't interested in fame, fortune, or heroism. All he did was make the best out of all the bad situations thrown at him, and did what he thought was right. He may have been villainized, but he didn't care. Ivalice was safe and so was Alma, and they both left Ivalice to adventure in another land. Beautiful fucking ending. Poor Ovelia though :(

@@WastedTalent83 Eh, I guess. Delita's story leaves an impact because of its sheer contrast between his and Ramza's story, like a shadow cast upon by light. The two's whole journey, background, and personality (at least at beyond Chapter 1) really play off each other well in painting the game's story and theme as a whole.
@ajbahus
@ajbahus 8 лет назад
How fucking ballsy is this ending? You get this post-credits sequence so it's the last thing the player is left with where your best friend (and someone who appeared to be an undeniable "good guy" for Chapter 1) kills the Princess. No if's, and's or but's...the Princess that you spent all of Chapter 2 trying to save and protect is dead. Not in some glorious, "you guys stay behind so I'll absorb the explosion" type of cliche heroic death either; she's brutally stabbed in the stomach and killed. Let that soak in for a second. The only solace that one can take from the scene is that Ovelia finally got to act and die on her own terms after spending her whole life as a pawn. And Delita realized it's lonely at the top when you sell out all of your friends, choose violence over diplomacy and sacrifice your morals.

ajbahus he lied cheated killed for his own desires which was to be powerful enough to have everything and control everything this phase started when he watched his sister get killed by orders from powerful people. In the end he had that same power but at an intense rate the problem with that was that the same power that killed his sister is the same power that destroyed him. In the end he asked ramza what did he get? Because he knew none of that mattered to ramza, ramza just wanted to do the right thing the moral of the story is that even after achieving worldly desires one still falls in misery this was a well thought out game and this is why this final fantasy will forever be my favorite game.

I think Ramza came out ahead here. Sure, he's officially dead, but that means he can start his life over, away from all the killing. ...But you have to wonder how he escaped Ultima's explosion.
@royjohnson9564
@royjohnson9564 6 лет назад
I read a theory that since Ramza didn't use the Zodiac stones and instead sought to use his own power to accomplish his goals when that explosion came (and he had all the Zodiac stones gathered) they teleported him and Alma (and the rest of the party) away from the explosion. It kind of makes sense since the Scorpio zone was used to revive Malak and the stone themselves aren't inherently evil but instead mimic the morality of their wielder.

To add to many of the comments. I believe this scene is also sad because Ovelia isn't even the real princess. She is most likely a commoner choosen to replace the real princess. A commoner just like Tietra/Teta, whom he loved just as much, or at least was supposed to love.

She was a "replacement" Queen. And the source of Delitas power most likely. He prolly became King by marrying her. And if it was discovered or she told everyone she was a fake queen (she knew cuz Vormav told her) Delita would lose rights to the crown. So he had reasons to kill her off.

I believe that delita has feeling for ovelia because if he wants to become a king, he could just kill her even before he become king.. it is a very tragic love story and stories like this can be big in the big screen, i hope someday someone can see this story and make it to the big screen

"the truth" being what? I never understand why people think there is a truth. Delita never did a single bad thing to Ovelia. He had to clean all the trash noble people , and he does it, he NEVER once kill a innocent person in the whole story. The only one you could call innocent is the orlandu look alike he kill to let Ramza save the real one. I never saw a single person talking about what is this betrayal of Delita.
@shivashiham7880
@shivashiham7880 3 года назад
@@WastedTalent83 There's more to it than killing people. He selfishly used everyone for his own gains. Orlandeau's family was well-respected throughout Ivalice for its loyalty to Goltanna and the 50 Year War. He threw all that out the window by tricking Goltanna into believing that Orlandeau would overthrow him and then framing Orlandeau for Goltanna's assassination. Delita only killed a look-alike Orlandeau because he was using Ramza to eliminate the church as an obstacle to his claim to power, and having T.G. Cid help Ramza would increase those chances. Otherwise he would have killed Orlandeau without a second thought. Look at it this way: Ovelia is aware that Delita is using people to gain power. He's already used the church, Goltanna, and Ramza's party to become king. And in a way, he used Ovelia in order to get legitimate claim to the throne. Delita probably did love Ovelia and didn't marry her JUST to use her, but Ovelia doesn't know any better. She's been used too many times and feared that Delita would just discard her like the rest once she was no longer of use. Doesn't help that Razma and the others are thought dead and he told her he'd build her a kingdom where they wouldn't get used by using people. Technically she wasn't wrong about Delita discarding her considering how he did not hesitate to stab her back but Ovelia kind of brought her death upon herself - even if she didn't know any better.
@WastedTalent83
@WastedTalent83 3 года назад
@@shivashiham7880 yea she did. I do agree that delita wouldn't stop at anything and I think that's exactly what makes him an amazing character. you see him in despair when he cant save his sister. he ask himself "would endeavor grant me an army?" he just didnt believe in himself back then AND still trusted ramza. and that trust costed his only sister life. I think the way he act is 100% justified. Also see it this way, we know delita is not happy at all in the end.. he always fought for revenge/peace.. and if the only way to achieve that is by behaving the way he did. I say welcome it. who care about nice and right decision when they bring zero results? the kingdom of Ivalice had many years of peace under delitas reign, the game said so. if delita was the shit people think he is, he would have been a crappy king / selfish one. but he wasnt because until the end he was a very good person that had to use does tactics to obtain results/revenge. as we could see, the only one who was strong enough to dirt his hands to make something concrete.

No one knows what he was thinking when he stabbed her back. The way it happened, he acted sad. After she said what she said, he got really quiet, stabbed her, backed away, dropped the knife, and turned. Every other time he's killed someone in the game he just puts the blade away and walks away. Then he tells ramza (talking to himself) "I ...I got this." Delita might have been accepting the fact that he had no friends in the end. All the friends he once had either detested him or are dead. It probably hardened him. And he just accepted that she didn't love him, either. He's very, very alone in the end. Delita is such a complex character. The whole time I played the game I had so much trouble reading him. I never really understood if he was on my side or not. He had him own ambitions, and he succeeded in reaching them. But to what cost?
@WastedTalent83
@WastedTalent83 8 лет назад
+LethalSanity i think most of people didnt understand Delita character untill the end, Delita only had Ramza as his friend, and Teta as his family, he NEVER had any other friends. After he lose Teta he long for revenge and do everything he can to get it, and at the same time gain whatever he could gain to have power and bring peace to Ivalice. But after all he did, Ramza still think as Delita as friend, the problem is that they live 2 kind of life way too different. Delita Lives as a man you would find in a real world with real reaction, and REAL emotions, while Ramza lives in a fantasy world with monsters and evil spirits, being the Hero behind the shadows, always good and following justice. We can clearly say that without Delita, Ramza would have stopped the lucavi , but the war would have never ended the way it did. Both are Heroes, Delita is the sad one, Ramza is the classic hero who do all with justice. Delita now days after 19 years, is still my favorite character of all the Rpg i played. Very deep and human like.

+andrea piro Lol Delita was a hypocrite who helped a church start a war so he could become king using the church plot. He hid behind the church power the whole time, then he hid behind goltana power. Delita was no hero which is why no heroes followed Delita. Every single hero of substantial merit and skill joined Ramza because Delita was a hypocritical ass. Delita is such a liar he does nothing about a lying ass church he knows manipulated the war after he becomes king. And how does he know it manipulated the war because he took Ovelia to Goltana when the Cardinal got her. He even lets Olan be killed by the church for writing the Durai papers. Delita was an anti villain if anything. He literally did everything he could to start the war and build his BS kingdom off the blood of the peasants who had to die so his little plan based of the Churches plan could work. An anti hero works for good for selfish reasons. An anti villain like Delita does a bunch of villainous shit like help plots to start wars and selfishly become king. Because they have noble goals like making the kingdom peaceful. Doesn't change Delita was a backstabbing scumbag who conveniently used the whole nation while claiming he'd build a kingdom where people aren't used. Even though, you know. The church is still lying to folks and Delita let's it happen because the people are just puppets to be controlled. Plus the fact Delita was in on the Church plot. Ramza lives as a man too. One who won't sell out their principles where as Delita will very quickly sell his. Quite simply if Delita had a stone and almost died. He'd be quick to sell his soul to a Lucavi demon just to survive and have a chance to still become king. Delita was basically like Wiegraf in reality. And he'd sell his soul just like Wiegraf to a demon if it meant he could have want he wants.

For all the people wondering why Olivia stabbed Delita it's because she realized he was manipulating everyone to get what he wants. Even though technically Delita does really "love" Olivia, he's not above stabbing her if she becomes a threat to his manipulation. My interpretation of why he stabbed her was because of 1. The fact that she attacked him meant she will no longer be able to be controlled easily like before and 2. The combination of the woman he "loves" outright blaming him for his best friends death is too much for Delita to bare because like most people he has to tell himself that what he is doing is for the good of everyone (Including the people he loves like Olivia/Ramza/Teta/etc).

Lmao No dude, that's not gameplay, Delita is not imortal in cutscenes, you would know that from Marach dying from one hit to save his sister, when it would take many to kill him in gameplay. "He face a weak frail girl that can't stab him properly in his armor" And yet he was all fucked up after being stabbed.. if he hesitated to kill her, what would've happened if she tried to attack again? when delita was already damaged and wasn't able to move? he would have died. Period. I really don't believe Olivia is incompetent to the point of not being able to finish off a wounded soldier. Let me repeat again, a character may have 1000 hit points in gameplay, it takes only one hit to kill them off in cutscenes, unless they are not meant to die. Yes, even for some reason if he spared her there and she didn't wanted to finish the job, you know.. because she tried to KILL HIM, she would probrably have tried to kill him again, and it's not really a smart idea if you let someone who is trying to kill you live in the same roof and sleeping in the same bed.

I dream with writing an adaptation of this story for a TV series. I have so many great ideas. One of those: The casting for Delita and Ovelia's roles has to be done using this scene as a basis. Sadly, I'm pretty sure many people would say that I'm "ripping off" Game of Thrones' lacklustre ending, when in fact this game was done many years before that

I always hated Delita after this. But at the same time, I understand why he killed her. Ovelia was a liability at this point. She was blinded by her emotions...the deaths of her friends, seeing everyone she cared about being played as pawns, etc. And she would expose Delita for his numerous betrayals. It would ruin everything he worked so hard for, to bring Ivalice under a peaceful rule. But damn Delita, that was the moment made that made you a piece of shit in my eyes.. She didn't deserve that. I will keep saying that no matter how many times people justify his actions...

So, I have played this game through multiple times, and it is one of my all time favorite RPG's. That being said, I only just learn TODAY that Ovelia stabbed Delita here. Whenever I've seen this scene, I though she surprise-hugged him tight. I had always wondered why he would take out a knife and stab her so unnecessarily, but I guess it makes slightly more sense now. Delita was one of my favorites. Ovelia was great, too. UP until today, I thought that she suffered the most undeserving of all of Delita's victims, but I guess I needed to look just a bit more closely.

Ramza = Guts Delita = Griffith They are the archetype of the cowboy and the farmer. Dreamer/Schemer. Ideal/Real. Same archetypes in the Titanic movie with Leo vs Billie Zane. The world is built by Delita's, progressed by Ramza's. It's interesting the house of cards that schemers build is always so fragile. The will of the dreamer can cut thru 30 years of scheming like it's nothing. You can decide to focus on power over others or power over self. This is not to value one over the other. Dreamers need investors and vice versa. Its interesting seeing these archetypes in my brothers and myself. He always had identified with Griffith and Delita and is an extremely hard worker. These character types are often times built on incidents where they feel powerless and are motivated to never feel that again. The flip side is a realization that these things are mostly out of your control. Even after all of Griffith's work he was made to feel powerless again after his duel with Guts and he realized it was all for naught. For Delita/Griffith, winning is everything. For Ramza/Guts, it is simply the will to fight. Juxtapose the way Guts acts when all hope should be lost vs Griffiths breakdown. "It's because humans are insecure that they rely on 'miracles'. Can you honestly say you're not, with any confidence?" "I'm trying!"

I'm not sure i agree everyone loses. Presuming Ramza and his whole team makes it out of the airship graveyard, they are a team of elite warriors with significant funds left over from all the side missions and side quests and so on. They could well have a few million gil lying around. They aren't going home, for sure, but they have their own community among themselves and can build a new home.

The truth is often splintered, bifurcated by the sides-- one who is glorified and one who is demonized. It was Ramza, historically, who-- despite his mettle-- brandished "heretic" as his title despite keeping true to his heart, not because of a tired inclination of a noble blood but rather because he set to do what was right. Delita strayed and drank deep from the cup of bloodshed and politics. He aspired from peasantry into royalty but squandered all that was valuable. He cast away his beliefs and became the very thing he despised. How ironic that he too would meet his demise the same way.

Every time ramza try, he fail, and has to kill EVERY SINGLE PERSON in his path, the run away thieves in a fight and others in other fights. Ramza deal with demons most of the time, meaning his endeavors are totally different from the ones Delita means. You man, need to play the game again and understand how the story and the characters work. because you're a tad confused. in the whole game, Delita, only kill 1 innocent person, and he does it so that orlandu can escape with Ramza. After watching the tragedy of the Death Corps play out and seeing his beloved sister murdered without a thought at the order of one of the only nobles he had believed in, risked his neck infiltrating all sides of the corrupt aristocracy and church that had begun a war over the throne and played them against each other in order to supersede them and create a peaceful world where commoners are treated as human beings. He succeeded and lead Ivalice into a golden age. *Common Consensus of Delita:* WORSE THAN HITLER! _Yeah but-_ FUCK YOU! HE HAS POWER! THAT MAKES HIM THE BAD GUY! - - - What Delita hated was Algus, every noble like him (see: practically all of them) and the system they created and maintained. Every single action he took was in order to destroy that system, and if that meant using said nobles so be it. If you think he "became what he hated" you can't read. Ramza died fighting for what was right. Delita lived fighting for himself and now is alone.
@ElliotKeaton
@ElliotKeaton 9 лет назад
Lelouchxzero1 Where did Delita say that he hated people that used other people? _Everyone_ pretends that he said this yet _no one_ can back it up (largely because he never said it). Delita's sister was murdered because she was considered livestock whose life wasn't worth paying a second thought to, not because the nobles that killed her were somehow using her. *Delita hated the fact that people like his sister weren't considered human* and you see it with how he responds to Milleuda at the Thieves' Fort. Wasn't that the entire point of the Death Corps., Algus and Teta? Wasn't that the entire point of Delita responding to Ovelia's question of who he was with "Human, just like you.". Wasn't that the entire point of him setting out to change the corrupt system *by rising to a position where it was possible to change said system?* Delita wasn't an idiot. He wasn't going to ask the nobles nicely to change their system and he wasn't going to repeat Wiegraf's folly. The Death Corps. failure showed him rather brutally that direct opposition was never going to work. He could either lie down and accept a world that took his sister from him because she 'was just a commoner, not even a real person' or do something about it, even if it meant being really mean and taking the only possible route. Delita ushered in a golden age of peace and prosperity to a world that was full of crap. He lost everything that mattered to him personally as a result of his actions but succeeded in realizing his ideals to create a better world for everyone else. If _you_ hate him for that, fine. But if you want to pretend that he hated people that used people you'd better find a quote, because he didn't.
@Lelouchxzero1
@Lelouchxzero1 9 лет назад
ElliotKeaton It was never needed to be said because of people being used Teta died, as well as Aglus saying Ramza is just using Deilita both Deilita and Ramza have a fit at Algus. Most of your examples are from chapter 1 when he was still an idealist him losing Teta changed him. In the end the results may of been good on the outside but within the steps he took were no different than any noble. lied, schemed, and used people even though Deilita hates Algus and Wiegraf he takes much of what they say in chapter 1 to heart. Algus mentions the using of people because that's the way of the world and Wiegraf saying leaders hands are always dirty. I don't hate Deilita in fact i love him and Ramza for they way they are portrayed but Delita and Ramza represent something. Delita is the ends justify the means much like the nobles playing the game on there rules Sacrificing who ever needs to be to win. Ramza refused to play by that way and for that was branded a Heretic and fought refusing to play by the rules of the Church and the Nobles anymore. the point is who actually is happy in the end? Deilita is king with no one with him not his friend Ramza or Ovelia he is alone or is Ramza happy? despite all the good he did everyone outside his close friends want him dead. and (at least i like to believe) he is dead (don't want to argue if he is dead or not becasue if Ramza isn't dead Agrais isn't dead and Agrais would kill Delita if any harm came to Ovelia) that's the point i am trying to make though Deilita useing the very methods he was disgusted with to succeed or Ramza fighting those methods to his death.

Lelouchxzero1 Delita did terrible things to realize his ideals, I won't deny that. But Teta didn't die because she was used. She died because Zalbag (of all people) and Algus didn't care. Like Algus said, she was just an animal. Chapter 1 defined him. It's what set everything he did in motion. The only reason the chapter even exists is for his sake. The entire focus of the chapter is on how corrupt the nobles' system is. On how low-born commoners aren't seen as human. On how Delita was deluding himself to have ever thought otherwise and wasn't just passively going along with the system but actively supporting it. One desperate rebel taking his sister hostage isn't much of a catalyst to set him on the path that he took and wouldn't fit the theme (and is a different definition of 'use' entirely). One of the few nobles that he trusted proving that everything Algus and Milleuda said over the course of the entire chapter was true by ordering the death of his sister like he was ordering a drink was the ultimate culmination of everything the chapter was building toward. He hated the belief that lead to his sister's death and Milleuda (and co.)'s suffering. It's what drove him to overthrow it. He destroyed what he hated. Claiming "Delita hated nobles. Nobles used others. Delita used others. Delita became what he hated." is a disservice to his character and makes as much sense contextually as "Delita hated nobles. Nobles have power. Delita gained power. Delita became what he hated." Is he guilty of using the same methods the nobles used? Sure. It was the only way to play the game and win. But their methods were never what made him hate them to begin with. It was their ideology.

CHRLPTRSN That's why the story had two heroes. Ramza is definitely a hero as he stopped the world from getting worse (Hell on Earth worse) but he refused to do what was necessary to make it better because the required methods went against his sense of justice. Ramza and Delita were complete opposites and I'm still surprised that the game didn't just go the easy route and make them fight each other.
@MrQvmateo
@MrQvmateo 11 лет назад
Ramza didn't lose anything, sure he's no longer nobility but i doubt he cared about that anyway. to quote him: "The Beoulve name stands for truth and justice! It is not a tool to be used for selfish gain!" he managed to follow trough with his beliefs and save his sister unlike Delita who still failed trying to protect ovelia even tho he obtained the power he tought he needed when he wasn't able to save his sister
@WastedTalent83
@WastedTalent83 3 года назад
well he wasn't able to save his sister, because he still had FAITH in his "family and friends" that adopted him. Only after he wake up he realize that to chance things, you need to fire fire with fire. Delita is an amazing character that succeed in absolutely EVERYTHING he wanted to. the only fail is for him personally. He end up sad, alone, BUT nonetheless he still give the people of Ivalice peace for years to come. How many people would have the strength to reign and give peace to a kingdom, after losing absolutely everything? (without getting corrupted or fall down to rage or sadness?) People always fail to see how amazing Delita really is.

I believe he loved Ovelia, but in this scene was forced to kill her as all he had worked for, all the manipulation he had worked so hard for would have been tarnished. He still had his vision for a peaceful, equal Ivalice, and he wasn't quite ready to sacrifice that, for the sake of Teta. Just my 2 cents though.
@WastedTalent83
@WastedTalent83 3 года назад
well you're half right, what he does is for Teta, from the first to the last action. He succeed in giving people peace for years under his kingdom. I think he kill Ovelia because: 1 she stab him, reason enough to stab her back . 2 He loved her and realize she would never be able to trust him. 3 He know that Ovelia THINK he killed Oland Balmafula Ramza etc, and he had no way to show her he didn't because all of them disappeared or have been in hiding. 4 When someone you love lose all trust in you and reach the point to stab you, and you know that person will never be able to trust anyone because of problems from the past, the best thing you can do , is put them out of misery.

Teta is dead, dead people can't think. Delita did all he did, so there wouldn't be any other Teta, and guess what? He succeed. After Delita become king, Ivalice lived in peace for the years to come. whatever Teta would have thought would have been meaningless. Her death was the trigger for Delita to take things in his hand and put an end to corruption (from the nobility side) while Ramza clean the "evil monster" lurking in the shadown.

Delita was pragmatic, I certainly wouldn't say "pure." He might not have killed Ramza, Olan or Cid, some of the most upstanding people in the story, but he worked his way to the top by manipulation and slaughter. He swore to protect Ovelia with his life, but who can say if he loved her or if he was just using her too? On some level, he might have been doing the right thing, but he still reaped the fruits of living in a way that gave others every reason not to trust him.
@WastedTalent83
@WastedTalent83 3 года назад
what are you talking about ? Who are the others? He did what must have been done , no other ways could have been possible. He never killed a single innocent person if not the guy who sacrificed to save orlandu. And i think he would have killed Ramza if he was a threat to his plan, and rightly so. In the end Delita, is the real victim of the story when you think about it. He lose his only family, his only friend which was Ramza because of different views of the world and what had to be done. And he lose his love because of all the scheme he had to go through to ensure his ends. He loved Ovelia, but she was a naive little girl with zero life experience, that juts blamed him for all that happened to her in the past. She think Delita killed Olan balmafula and Ramza, with ZERO evidence. And decide by herself she would get killed too. So when she stab him he understand there is no way out of this, and decide to end her too. Delita end up living alone, with no friends no love, BUT STILL he doesn't get bad or corrupted, he give Ivalice peace for the years to come, i have no idea why anyone would hate an amazing character like that.
@leon4000
@leon4000 3 года назад
@@WastedTalent83 I think the fact that Delita manipulated and deceived people so many times to get his goal, even anything with his redeeming qualities would be put to question. Ovelia found out what he was planning and was shocked. Everything he said to her was put to major question in her view and after being manipulated by everyone else, the one who seemed to put his heart out for her, turned out to be just like one of the others, especially when she got wind Ramza and his party being "dead". It didn't matter how much good he did for the country and for Ovelia with his methods. Her faith in him was pretty much heavily strained to the point that it tore her up from the inside. Keep in mind, she was a princess who already had her hands full with dealing with her stressful situations, with the truth that she's not really of royal blood was the punch in the gut, she was pretty much in the background most of the time. And then finding out even more messed up stuff from the one who gave her strength, her mind was not in a good place. She couldn't bare it any longer. You can't expect her to figure it out when she's been living a sheltered life, shuffled around and away from the throne, the real truth of what really happened with the royal bloodline and the war, and dealing with things left and right without much of a break, leading her to become bitter and angry to people who betray her. While Delita loved her, he was ultimately sloppy to think that he would keep her out of his secrets. Ovelia already questioned about the reason why she wasn't in the throne and got her answer harshly. What do you think is going to happen when someone not in the know is going to look around after being hit with a harsh truth while said person's mind is not in the right place? And she didn't have Agrias Oaks with her, who had a better chance with Ovelia to help pull herself together than a guy she knew for not long. Ovelia may be called plenty for being naive, but she's also a victim of all the manipulation by all the people in her life, and Delita ended up as another in her eyes. Delita isn't a bad person per se, but you have to admit that all the deception and manipulation no matter what intentions can put you in a bad light, hence the saying: "Good intentions are the pathway to hell". Delita had this coming whether people like it or not. That's the price he paid for his actions. Eliminating corruption, by using the same means as the corrupt people, and one that humbled him pretty harshly. He doesn't even know that Ramza survived his ordeal assuming he's dead. And maybe...that's for the best.

Ramza did win he managed to live up to what his father expected of him, grew up into a knight worthy of his name, and gained great trustworthy companions, would'nt you think that to be worth more than a stable life if you had to put up with a corrupt government and believing in a false religion? THAT would be the worst kind of life for someone like Ramza what Ramza lost is irrelevant to him anyway because as i said he doesn't really care about social stature and power or "stability" anyway
@Cainleer
@Cainleer 11 лет назад
The ideal life is a happy and stable one. Neither Delita nor Ramza had both of these qualities in their lives. I don't think the euphoria of saving the world would last for the next fifty or sixty years left of Ramza's life. Half a decade living to survive. Its hard to maintain happiness in a harsh environment. Did Ramza's remaining years have meaning? I hope so, but Final Fantasy Tactics is a story with no winners - some just lose more than or differently to others.

plus it certainly didn't look like a bad ending looking at the ending cinematics in the psone where Ramza and his sister were traveling the world together. So maybe your just overthinking it a little. if it looked like a good ending then that's probably what happened or what the writers intended.

nope i didn't misundersand what your saying is that Ramza is unhappy cuz he had to live an unstable life of an adventurer after he saved the world right? I just don't think stability is such a big deal for Ramza. since it's not what he values. So my point is Ramza can live an unstable life of a commoner/adventurer and still be happy cuz he's fulfilled and has no regrets ,while Delita will never be happy even if his life is stable cuz of all that guilt and regret.

At the beginning of the game it says that Delita reigned for a long time. In another game called Vagrant story , it was made by the same creator of final fantasy tactics and occurs in the same world that ivalice, there are references like "Haeralis the Brave" glorifying Delita Heiral. The story of this game takes place after 300 years of the event of final fantasy tactics, so Delita must have been considered a hero and must have reigned for a long time
