Watch some manufacturing videos on luxury cars. They literally have very slack quality control procedures or inspectors. Terrible. I would not accept that car and in fact by doing so you are lowering the expectation of people buying a NEW vehicle and Tesla is moving the onus onto you instead of becoming a better car manufacturer. Do not accept second best.
I don't consider Tesla making luxury cars. I disagree with it. I mentioned in previous videos that I used to own an Acura and that in my opinion is a luxury car. It was the experience of being an owner. The customer service when going in for service. The quality of the car itself. It did have rattles but the service center was able to fix it in one attempt. It's a shame that Tesla improves on their software among other things but yet they can't seem to improve quality control and customer service/policies. Many of the quality issues are found on the Model S and X - these are supposedly their flagship vehicles. Having owned a few Tesla already, we are kinda used to the quality. We didn't buy it for it being a "luxury" car. We bought it because we save money owning an EV, convenience, the technology, the safety, and price. We have been ignoring the imperfections as long as it's not related to safety issues - well not really ignoring but with their track record on quality, what are the chances the next car we take delivery won't have the same or different issues? Maybe worse. Tesla has been producing cars for only about 10 years. I'm not defending or making excuses for them. But we've adjusted our expectations :)
The videos I make is to share ownership experience and to also try to set expectations. Not everyone will have the same experience as me. But many videos seem to only show the “good” side of Tesla, not the “realistic” side. I don’t do the videos to make money or try to go viral. I do them to share my experiences both good and bad. I get frustrated sometimes and it’s a way to vent. Maybe others have experience it or wonder about it. I’m not loyal to the brand. I’m loyal to products that work well for our situations and try to share and hope others can benefit from it as well. I’ve learned and continue to learn on the internet from people. This is one way I try to give back. I also do the videos to connect with people and start conversations.
Ion Yeah, I had a rattle also it came from behind 17 inch screen,. I noticed it the second day I was driving but the following day It was gone. So l guess fixed itself 😂😂 because it doesn’t do it anymore. I’m knocking on wood right now. 😂😂😂😂😂
Knocking on carbon fiber haha. Ya we took a drive last night. The rattles were gone. I hope it doesn't come back either. Those random issues are hard for service to troubleshoot if it can't be replicated.
Bro, I had Geico and quoted $478 for a Model Y, complaining about 2 vehicles for the same cost is whining. Tesla Insurance quoted me $140 on the same car. Car looks good tho
Haha, I know. I'm complaining comparing it from previous insurance cost. I assume you went with Tesla insurance? If you have to call though, you will be on hold for about an hour. Thanks for sharing.
This is ridiculous. Why does Tesla have these misalignment and paint issues? The quality control is horrible. Do their workers just not care? How many times have I gotten a new BMW and they would not even sell the car with such issues. I’ve been considering the X and the price is not my issue..even if I spent 25k on a car I would not accept paint and door alignment issues. When I drove the demo I heard the constant rattling too…it’s hilarious. Also the falcon doors hit me when I stood next to it. It couldn’t care less that I was right next to it. I also can’t believe that a hi tech car doesn’t have 360 Birds Eye view. My grandmas 2016 Nissan even has that.
Thank you for the feedback. They just added some kind of 360 view in the holiday update. It is unfortunate of the Tesla's quality but we own Tesla not for quality or "luxurious" features. I hope my videos show what it's like to own Tesla cars. I show the good, the bad, and everything in between. The Model X is over-engineered but it's the biggest car Tesla offers. We wanted a replacement for our minivan that's electric. It'll be exciting once competition catches up. R1S and EV9 are becoming more available. We may switch in a few years.
Very nice to have the car blessed and thanking God for it and he look over you and your family as you travel in it. I love that. Because it is a blessing
Glad you got your replacement so quickly. That Ultra Red does look good in the sun. While it had the suction cup marks on the rear window, I feel like I've always had to clean those off new cars. Looks pretty clean at delivery. The rattles on a brand new vehicle are rough though. Hopefully you can get those resolved. The black seat piping, contrast stitching, and different color trim are part of the Plaid. I feel like Tesla vision is a huge step back from the USS.
Thank you. This answers some things. The car is cleaner than last year's Long Range we picked up. I don't expect much with their delivery team but this delivery I felt they took more time with us. We took a drive last night, about 60 miles and no rattles. Hopefully it doesn't return. It probably just needed to stretch its legs. I like the black stitching on the seats. It is a good contrast. Our long range didn't have it. We do miss the walnut but it would look weird with the other interior changes on the plaid. Tesla Vision is throwing me off a little bit specially parking in the garage. It may be too "sensitive" to compensate for not having the sensors. The beeping is making me second guess. I'll have to see if there's a way to lower the tone volume.
@@sherwinm Awesome that the rattles are going away a bit. I agree... I'm a sucker for contrasting piping and stitching. I've seen other reviews of Tesla Vision and it just seems like it's currently much less accurate than the ultrasonic sensors were. I wonder if they are being conservative with it due to the lack of accuracy. Hopefully it improves over time and they bring back the fully opening front doors, etc.
haha, yes we got a schedule next week. taking it back to our usual wrap shop. i'm trying to find the CF grill and plaid pattern for the T on the grill.
I don’t believe they did. I can still open the falcon door inside the garage with model y next to it and not hit. Structured parking you may want to be careful. The sensor is in the middle between the falcon doors. If the ceiling beam isn’t detected it may open all the way and hit. I have some footage in my Northern California road trip if you want to check it.
You should go to dealership to have small issues fixed. Not that it matters for the issues themselves, but if you do need to file lemon case, the mileage is calculated based on the first time you reported issues.
Yes you are correct. I have scheduled an appointment already. Mobile service is coming by in a couple of days to see what they can fix and then also inspect other concerns that may need to be addressed either at the service center or third party body shop. I mentioned in on the following video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PwpsoIGBgDI.html Thank you.
Good idea. You know we took it out tonight for dinner. No rattles whatsoever. Wife was saying maybe because people had sat in all the seats and used the seatbelts, it may have loosen things up and the rattle is gone? Hope it doesn't come back. So far the A-Pillar and the paint drip and the software glitch. No falcon door issues. We've been opening and closing it.
@@sherwinm Model X is badly engineered. It's a money pit. Looks like you haven't learned. You're gonna keep going back to the service center and you will hear, "It's within spec." Lol
Thanks for sharing your delivery experiences. I currently thinking about to order a Model x. What kind of steering wheel do you prefer? Best regards from Germany
Hi, for road trips I love the yoke. But driving around the city, I prefer the regular steering wheel. Overall, I would go with the yoke but my wife hates it. This time we went with the regular steering wheel. I have videos about the yoke… I'm Changing My Mind On The Model X ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9vS9fivVRhI.html Driving Tesla's Model X Yoke ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dLixb0l25wg.html I hope that helps.
I'm on Tesla Insurance as well - last time I got a Model3 from Hertz during my repair - it was merely $50 per day. The Hertz store I went to did say something about some agreement with the Tesla insurance overall.
Thanks for sharing your experience with your new Tesla MX Plaid! When did you see your new VIN# populate in the app (how many weeks from time of order)? I have the same MX w/black interior and 22” wheels on order (placed order two weeks ago). I am able to transfer my free supercharging, which made my decision easier 😊
Sept 8 - ordered Plaid Oct 24 - Got VIN. Not sure if there was an email or text. My wife just told me that there was some notification. Then I think following day we were ask to choose a delivery day. Oct 29 - Delivery day. We live in southern California so we're fairly "close" to Fremont. Delivery trucks don't have to travel far to drop it off our dealership. Until you get the VIN, your EDD will change a number of times. Good luck and congrats. I can't wait to hear more about your Plaid experience.
@@sherwinm Thanks Sherwin! I’m about an hour from Fremont (near Napa). The date changed once already. They said it was due to the increased sales offering the transfer of free supercharging promotion. Of course the waiting game messes with my MX trade-in valuation (30-days or 1K miles).
Yes, they will follow that 30 day, 1k mile rule. Because it's all automated they may not bend the rules. I hope you get your delivery date within the timeframe but honestly you may not. Unless someone rejects the same config and you're next in line for that config. Once you get that VIN, if it's not a rejected delivery, then it means the factory is about to build it or is being built. I also did a video on getting our VIN if you're interested. Very exciting. Every time I hear someone ordered a car, I celebrate with them and get excited as well haha. Last couple of videos with our Plaid, many have chimed in about ordering one or recently taking delivery. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hD3MS-2juaY.html
No high pitch sound on cruising speed. But all our Tesla we’ve owned I notice the high pitch sound during hard acceleration. Doesn’t happen every time but happens enough times. I’ve talked to other people and it happens to them as well. But just during acceleration
They didn't provide an Uber? They used to do it. I guess recently they stopped. I didn't want to drive there and drive home in my Y. I wanted to drive the Plaid home. Wife drove the long range home last year. What did you order? (sounds like I'm asking what you had for lunch haha) Buying cars from Tesla is such a great experience.
