So my bite Alarm broke ? So why do i still rate Delkim as the Best ??? HOOKED LINE & SINKER / hookedlinesinker CHASING CHUNKS / chasingchunks DELKIM LTD www.delkim.co.uk/
I have tried quiet a few alarms over the years, I tend to judge them on how long they last. The optonic is the oldest one I have, nearly 30 years old and still works like new. Fox Stopped working within 18 months. Gardner Atts tends to work most of the time but I have noticed that they do not always sound during a take, light comes on, no beeps. And last but not least, Delkim, supposed to work on vibration but again does not always beep during a take, bobbin rises all the way up, light on, no sound.
Is there really a 'best alarm' out there?.Never had a problem with my old TXis ,nor my current ECU MK1s..Both very good alarms doing bite registration differently.
nice one jon, same here mate, I wouldn't use anything else, I've been using delks since the mid 90's, in that time I've had one problem that needed a standard re-seal, at the time that was a fiver, I sent it Monday and was fishing with it on Friday, they rarely go wrong anyway and after sales is brilliant if you ever need it👍👍👍
Delkim without doubt the best buzzer out there, my mate still has an optonic super compact that was converted by delkim, that i sold him still going strong well over 25 yrs old, and im pretty sure thats how they started.
This is true if you are in UK. If you are outside UK it takes 2 months to fix them - at least that is the time it took in my case and I am in EU. Delkim does not accept direct RMA from the outside of UK - they require your local stockist to participate which just elongates the whole process. I had the exact same problem - poor range and crackly sound on the receiver. It seems to be a common problem in Delkims. How about that?
Had delkims Jon since 1994, been the dogs to this day! Bought some fox alarms just out of curiosity🤔 the wheel froze up in winter and the line didn’t move the wheel just heard the baitrunner clicking! Mind you it was minus six lol they was sold 24 hrs later😆
Totally agree with you there mate ...Great customer service and fantastic alarms ...Best out there ...nash .fox and the rest are all made in China....good luck getting them repaired ....long live the txi
Had fox dxr alarms for 20 years, became a fault, sent to fox with its hard case, £30, came back 2 weeks later, still didn't work , no batterie which was in it when I sent it and no hard case, phone up to find where my hard case and batterie was, some excuses then sent them out, they said send alarm back to see what was still wrong with it but would get charged another £30, sod that so bought delkims as they have always had a good reputation, no probs so far, shocking service from fox though, keep up the good videos Jon, cheers craig
New Direction have been pretty sound so far, when I lost one of the dials they sent out a replacement pack next day with £10 worth of batteries by way of an apology, when my receiver died they couldn't fix it but offered a replacement at unit cost (ie. how much they cost to produce). The alarms themselves have been bombproof, really are worth a look for
@@CHUNKSTV If I had the money for a full set of top end delks then I wouldn't say no but for the low/mid range prices the NDs are hard to beat. Looks and feel are neither here nor there but they've got all the features, functionality and build quality of items twice the price. Sensitivity is as good as any 4 magnet roller wheel, had them out in all conditions and not treated them to more than the occasional wipe with a damp cloth and they've yet to let me down in about 2-3 yrs. Receiver worked well until it died of unknown causes, huge range and gives useful information regarding how much line has passed and in what direction, admittedly though the Bluetooth functionality is just noddy fodder and next to pointless. Only other downside is that the batteries are pricey but if you turn the bells and whistles off they last for about a year, apparently they do rechargeable cell packs now but I've not tried them. Certainly worth a look if you were ever looking for a spare or an extra for France trips etc.
There is an other company which produces TOP alarm with a superb after sale: Carp Sounder. I have the CSF1 now for many years, had one issue, has been repaired and shipped back to home with in 2 weeks, for just the costs of the shipping. I never hear any problems of those alarm from anyone, if you find any troubles mentioning on the net, please tell me. For me, there is nothing which more reliable.
Delkim make good alarms, possibly the best, but they don't do much to help if youve had multiple failures from inside a year and onwards, ends up costing a fortune to repair so might as well replace. Common issues, LEDs go, and on off button fails and volume loss, and loss of all sensitivity.
But you had to pay??? Lol I’m using fox alarms not even the expensive ones I’m using mr+. I had the same problem you had I went online and inputted my details, fox told me to contact the place I bought them. So I contacted angling direct 24 hours later Royal Mail came to my door and collected the faulty unit then another 24 hours the same man from Royal Mail came back with a replacement new unit. So from finding the fault to getting a new unit it took 48 hours and I didn’t have to pay shipping or any crap resealing price. But your gonna say I’m still in Warrenty??? Yeah your right I have 3 years Warrenty on my alarms which cost me 160 for a set of three and receiver. Know that’s good value for money and a great service from fox
Nice to know that fox/ angling direct are giving out a good customer service.. btw I'm not knocking fox there are good alarm I'm really just highlighting how good delkims return policy is..
