Just replaced my battery, and its not charging, so the jack is broken, but replacing the jack seems a bit overwhelming. Didn't know we have to take the whole computer apart. Very informative, thank you for the explanation.

Hello my man, I have a dell of this same model, and unfortunately it stopped working suddenly, I don't know the reason, when I want to turn it on, the power LED goes off and on again but nothing starts from the equipment even the fan. What do you recommmend me to do?

If it stopped working all of the sudden for no reason something inside is shorted out. First steps to do is remove the memory chips and remove and place back the cmos battery.
