There may be some design elements of this system that you "don't like" But I can say without a single doubt that these machines are very solid and reliable.
Do you happen to know what the max harddrive and ram sizes are for this model? Appreciate the video, I will be doing this very thing soon to bring life back into the old boy.

Hey Jordan, I know it really doesn't have much to do with the video specifically, but I was just wondering, How do those IDE SSDs preform? I know that they will not be as fast as a SATA drive because it is limited due to the fact that it has the IDE interface, but is the performance much better over a standard 5400 RPM laptop drive?
I was going to pull the drive on my old 610. When I went to boot it up just to see what it has now I get hard drive pass word protected. Cripes. How did that happen? I have had this machine since 2009. Now I see the hard drive you pulled it will not fit my case. I do remember I had lenox on this machine and used it a little. There must be a HD inside because when I went to pull it out like you did here all I got was a plastic insert. I just pulled a HD on another old Dell N4010 and it was buried under everything but not accessable from the bottom with out removing everything. Since the maching had a broken screen and broken hinge and DVD RW drive door just barely hanging on I was not going to save anything but the screws. So is the D610 HD also buried? Do I just pull the send all of it to the dump? No idea how to get past the password. you did it so fast I did not catch what you did. I tried ADMIN. Thanks
OK Never mind and thank you. I got in and it is not even worth pulling the hard drive on this machine It is running Ubuntu14.04.5. It is only 37gb. Soooooooo Thanks. Not sure what to do with this old baby of mine. It still runs and Cmos battery is still working. Battery cover is taped which leads me to believe it wanted to fallout??? It has been several years since I have used this machine but I have kept it plugged in. I am subscribing to you because I enjoy how wel you explain what you are doing. And I am still running an older Dell Latitude 7490. So far so good but I have only had it a few days.

I know that these machines can be upgraded to a 2.26 GHz Pentium M. Mine has a 2.0 GHz Pentium M and it does indeed run windows 7, not too great, but it does.
recently got one of these for 10 bucks. stuck a m.2 to ide converter off of ebay and it didnt seem to run that well with it strangely. even put 2gb of ram in it and it still didnt like linux.
Hello, I advise you to install Linux os and the best one for your machine is q4OS I I'm using it runs great on my machine bay the way my machine lower than yours
