How to replace or remove the keyboard on a Dell Latitude E7240 laptop notebook computer.
Shows you removing the battery, removing the underside cover, removing the keyboard surround / bezel, unplugging and unscrewing the keyboard to replace it.

I finally did it, even though screws are stripped. But I put in the new keyboard and it works - all thanks to you - you saved me so much $$$ !!!!

Glad to hear it :) did you put the damaged screws back in, replace them or just leave them out?

@@freename I put the damaged ones back. They seem to work okay as far as holding the keyboard in place

I hope it all goes well for you. It's also worth reading through the comments on this video as others usually post updates or quirks on different variants of the computer. For example laptops with back lit keyboards have an extra wire to watch out for

@@freename not going well with my E750. (not 740) tIniest screws. Uses microscopic Phillips. Won't turn. Now Stripped. ugh. This is hellacious. Suggestions?

Try and get hold of the right size screwdriver and use pressure to hope it bites into what is left of the screws. Otherwise, hope there are RU-vid videos on how to undo laptop screws with damaged heads.

Thanks, made it easy! FYI, the backlit keyboards, mine was, have 2 ribbon cables, the second one is much smaller and plugs in right next to the one seen in the video @ 4:26. Thanks again.

I don't know the screwdrivers, just a small jewelers one and a slightly larger one. The small knife thing I used is B005NHLQL2 on amazon UK.
