Dell Latitude e7440 laptop SSD hard drive and ram swap 

2~3 years ago I Upgrade my DELL e7440 i5 4310u, pre-installed with Win 7 Pro to 【Win 10 Pro】 ! 1) Recently Upgraded to 【16GB】 1600 RAM from 8GB 2) Recently I Upgraded /【 NEW installation】 of Win 11 Pro to a 512GB mSATA SSD , installed it onto the 【mSata/WWAn】 slot So, now I have 【2 SSD】 and with 【2 OS】 on 【ONE laptop】, 【 F12 】 to select which OS to run ! 。。。。。。。。。。。。。👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

the obvious reason your laptop didn't boot cause you install the wrong RAM. Ever since Intel 4th gen release, they use Low Voltage DDR3 which is 1.35V as your 8GB RAM is 1.5V which won't boot at all. When you're replacing ram, always look up to your existing RAM module code info . Your ELPIDA is PC3L 12800U which the "L" represent LOW voltage while your SK HYNIX is PC3 12800U. Better get those 8GB slot with 1R single rank ones.

ok So I just bought a Dell latitude e7470 for like $240 cnd off amazon first thing I want to do is upgrade to a 1 !tb m.2 and 16gb ram. do you know if this is possible? what speed for the ram?

My main problem is that my laptop has a msata compatibile caddy but i want to install a sata and the e7440 sata caddy costs at least 12 euro + shipping... That is too much considering the sata 3 480 gb kingston drive costed 30 euro.

Also I want to know why my E7440 is running slow? How can I check for the hard drive memory?

The reason why it didn't work with the new RAM is because the new RAM was PC3/DDR3, not PC3L/DDR3L. DDR3 RAM requires a higher voltage than this laptop supports (1.5V instead of 1.35V).

How do you install that plug that goes from the laptop to the hard drive??

I have the same laptop, but with Intel Core i7 CPU, 16Gb RAM and 512Gb M.2 SATA disk. Overall, not a bad machine for someone on a budget. Oh, It runs Ubuntu Mate very nicely!

my dell e7440 was low on battery last night and now it's about one hour that it gets off when it starts and showing that battery is charging icon but in hour, it is still bot sufficient to go into the windows. It just loads up to windows login screen and the icon showing charging but the battery is extremely low so it turns off. I want to know how long it usually takes to get charged or it is issue with my battery? Thank you.

I have Dell lattitude E7440 i5 4th grn laptop It has only two slots HDD and m sata(mini slot) It doesn't have DVD port Now, I want to upgrade it with ssd M sata port is empty but m sata new ssd is not possible to buy So I am removing HDD so can i use 1.NVMe ssd in place of HDD Or due to old generation I should go with SATA ssd. By your experience If nvme is ok to my laptop will it give proper speed like 2Gb+ ??
