The Dell 24" U2417H Infinity Edge Monitor is currently my favorite Dell monitor because It helps so much with video editing and color correction. It's also great for just viewing content online and general photography and video work. I'm thankful for the Dell U2417HA having 99.9 sRGB because I know my colors will me the most accurate. This dell ultrasharp is one of the best Dell IPS Monitor I own! If you're looking to use this for gaming you can but if you want a screen faster then 5ms then get another one. Games will still look nice.
It also can be called Dell 210-ahjk.

@@AdamUPNow Yes they are. I have already repaired several models. As a rule, all monitors that have no display breakage or pixel errors can be repaired. Usually it's just little things. You can get most of the spare parts from Ebay for a small price.

I've been having problems finding the stand I got with the monitor, it's not sold online for some reason. The stand has a metal round disk that connects to the other side of tables so attaching it is no problem but I don't know about the weight with your glass table's thickness. 1cm sounds very thin.

The U2417h screen looks quite smooth / reflective than the old u2414h and TN monitor .Do the surrounding reflection / self reflection obvious on the screen of U2417h especially on darker color background ? Will this be a glare problem on bright office environment ? Thanks.

That's a good question no one has asked yet. I find that the U2417h is actually my least reflective screen and I use it at dim brightness. I think the HP 27es I reviewed seems to be more reflective then the Dell. I can link it if you like.

Thanks for the replay . The HP 27es is a reflective glossy screen than U2417h. Not sure if U2417h anti-glare screen is as good as normal TN monitor. Since new U series dell monitor has quite smooth semi-matte screen which give a lot more surrounding reflection which is quite distracting.

Differences; U2417H(A) comes with the arm you see in the video whereas U2417H does not. U2417H(J) has wireless charging and slightly different panel specifications.

Not sure if I should get this monitor or the u2414h? Apart from the year is their much of a difference? My gut just tells me to get the newer one but I’m not so sure.

That's a good question! I just looked and the U2414h is 8 ms response time, 96% sRGB color accurate. The U2417h is 6 ms (overtime) response time and 99%sRGB. They both have the same connections in the back as well. Here's the U2414h if you're looking for it amzn.to/2owuSLG

What is the other monitor do you have? Is it a S2716DG? Is it good as this with the TN panel? Do you recommend it to a %25 gaming %75 desktop user or do you recommend IPS? (I have G-Sync compatible video card).

Would you be able to give me some measurements on the bracket? Whats the max opening? and how deep is the bracket? I'm trying to figure out if it would fit my desk or would I have to do some modifications? Thanks!

I think the bracket opens about 2 inches and the the part holding the whole mount is 3 inches. It has a round clamp top and a bolt that you screw to tighten.

I did a gradient test to see how smooth the gradients are viewed on my DELL U2717D (just resently bought it). But the gradients on most colours aren't that smooth. Especially on a gray one. I see the small 'strips' going from the darkest area. On the gray I can also see a pinkinsh colour in some areas (if you watch reeeally closely). I don't know if you could help me deciding whether I should give the monitor back or not, but nevertheless. It's also bright AF.

I'm looking for graphic designer's monitor, may I ask is it good for design? I'm usually use adobe photoshop, which is photo editing, and illustration. And I do printing works too (editorial design).

Dongah Kim I actually bought it for video editing and other Adobe software. the 99.9 srgb is a great feature. make sure you're photo editing in the srgb setting in lightroom and photoshop.

Those 2 screen are almost the same. S2415h has speakers but is not more color accurate. It uses LED tech compared to IPS. The U2417H also has usb 3 and Display port. Though the S2415h is almost $100 cheaper. If you can find a deal and care for color accurate go with the U2417H.

Does it require a hard drive to run, or is it an all-in-one? Don't judge the seemingly stupid question, right now I just have an all in one. (In all reality it's not really mine, it's for my whole family, and I might get my own pc in my room for gaming.) Do you also recommend it for gaming with any game that takes up to 65gb of space and uses up to 4gb RAM?

This screen is only a computer monitor. You will need a PC/Mac to use it. I don't recommend this for gaming if you want low input lag and a high refresh rate. This is great for color accurate uses like color correcting and Lightroom.

The brightness would matter if you're using the screen in a bright office setting. I don't have problems with the brightness of the u2417h. I haven't tested the new model.

I use a dark desktop background and I don't ever see any IPS glow when I view it from any angle. I don't have another compatible monitor to test daisy chaining.

hey nice video there! I read in your comment saying this monitor is not that good for gaming? how about LoL and some other light gaming? I mainly use it to watch videos, programming, surf the net and light gaming like LoL. I'm trying to upgrade my monitor from an LCD screen but at the same time not wanting to burn a hole in my pocket. and uhm, comparing this with the p2317h, I don't see any difference. are there? I know the p stands for professional, but the specs and usage wise?

This or the other screen is fine for what you are doing. The U2417H is just an inch bigger and the color is probably more accurate. People mention this not good for mid to high end gamers that want a high refresh rate.

Hey one more thing! Between the ultra sharp series and professional series, besides the color accuracy, will there be any difference in our daily usage? Especially text, will it be sharper? Im leaning towards the P series because here in Singapore its about $100 cheaper for the P series.

I would like to upgrade current TN to IPS monitor. I afraid video will appears more blur than TN monitor since its response time is 8ms. Some review mention about overshoot/inverse ghosting if choosing fast response time 6ms for this monitor. What do you think ?

Hi Tbjerman. I haven't noticed a problem with ghosting with watching videos at 60p fps on RU-vid. As for gaming I haven't played anything in a while so that test has not be done.

The two are practically the same. The only difference is aspect ratios are different and the price difference is around $10. Dell U2415 1920 x 1200 weights more 1 x 3.5 mm Output 1 x USB Type-B (USB 3.0) Input 5 x USB Type-A (USB 3.0) Output 1 x DisplayPort 1.2 Input 1 x DisplayPort Output 1 x Mini DisplayPort Input 2 x HDMI (MHL) Dell U2417h 1920 x 1080 1 x 3.5 mm Output 1 x USB Type-A (USB 3.0) Input 4 x USB Type-A (USB 3.0) Output 1 x DisplayPort Input 1 x Mini DisplayPort Input 1 x HDMI (MHL) Everything else is the same between the two. Just get which is cheaper for you.

I can only find the LG 24MP88HV-S online which I think is the same screen. Both monitors offer the same features, the only difference is the LG has a few more software based features you might not even use. Built in speakers and no Displayport. The Dell doesn't have a DVI port. The price changes but currently the LG is cheaper then a New Dell U2417h. LG link if needed geni.us/B0AV

If you are sitting far from the screen no. It's meant for a desk. Also the fastest this screen is 5ms response time and has a preset for Gaming. It's speed is not bad but if you want less input lag then 5ms, you might want another.

Well the response time is at best 6ms and tops out at 60hz. This monitor doesn't have any sync features for PC games. You can find a better screen for games. My friend has the Dell S2716DGR, that's for games but it's a lot more.

I haven't tried the u2414h so I don't know how they compare. I like the image on the u2417h. Look for a refurbished model if you're looking to save.

When I put white at the bottom I get a 1% or less fade of light. You're seems more prominent. It doesn't seem like something to worry about too much unless it seems worse to you in real life.

I like to keep my monitors light low and angled up away from my eyes when I'm not editing. If you mean that It also display bigger text that relies on the computer text settings. At night when I'm watching a show I keep the light low and in an almost dark room. The link for the product is in the description if you're looking for it.

It does great for editing, photo editing and work. It's fine for gaming but if you're looking for a monitor that has a faster response time you could find another. I use this monitor for my own games though.
