Outstanding, thorough review, I plan to pick up a couple of these to use in a dual monitor system. Your command of the English language is outstanding as a non-native speaker. Keep up the good work! New subscriber here.
If you bought your monitor directly from Dell, you get Advanced Exchange Support and you can demand an exchange because of the backlight beading without having to send back your monitor before receiving the exchange.
I have this one since 7 months. Software is great (I have connected 2 PC to it: DP-DP and through USB-C-USB-C) I can toggle brightnes and contrast based on hour, I can switch between PC's connected during this switch also USB-B SoundBar SB502 connects between PC's. IPS Black is good, and picture is brighter than on the older monitors. Updated soudBar (V2) is much, much better, I really do like it, although it wasn't cheap. DP connection is 4K x 60Hz x 30bits USB clocks in 4K60Hz 24bits. I can confirm, that this is clear and crisp monitor (screen) compared to the other IPS models. It is still not the 5K level of my iMAC (550 nit glossy) but it is on the very good track. LCD and Software - this is great (LAN also reconnects as switching via keyboard shortcut). My model had - PAST TENSE - coil whine, it sopped at some point, which was surprising for me, but it did! If you read (as I do) sh.. ton of content for training, this thing is very good! Just remember you need OS with very good advanced scalling - when I turned NVidia SuperResolution... 1080p videos look amazing, card is running 60C but this is custom PC, it can.
Hello, I am currently in the process of selecting a monitor for my MacBook Air M2. At the moment, I am considering two models: the Dell Ultrasharp U2723QE and the Asus ProArt PA279CRV. Unfortunately, I do not have the opportunity to visit a physical store and directly compare these two monitors. Currently, I am leaning towards the Dell due to my preference for its design. I have two questions: Is it possible to use a USB-C cable to simultaneously transfer video from a Mac and charge it? If so, what is the charging power? Have you had the chance to compare these two monitors? I've come across online reviews mentioning that black tones do not appear truly black on the Dell. Have you experienced this issue? Additionally, which monitor do you believe offers better color reproduction? I would greatly appreciate your insights.
I have a 2018 MacBook Pro. I’m hoping that it will look okay on my new Dell U2723QE 27” 4K monitor. In a couple of years I’ll upgrade to a new Mac Mini to pair with the monitor
Nice review. One question: I would guess that your MacBook Pro has a glossy screen while the Dell has a matte screen. Do you see any difference in contrast, sharpness or "vibrancy"? I prefer a vibrant look myself.
Curious about this too. Got a Dell XPS with glossy screen and it's absolutely great, not sure I want to go back to matte but there are almost zero glossy displays...
@@hanvyj2 Yes for some reason glossy screens are nearly impossible to find. Apple still sells glossy monitors (you have to pay extra for matte!) but Apple is expensive to start with. Several all-in-one systems by Dell and HP also come with glossy screens but you have to buy an entire PC even if you don't need one.
Does it have PIP feature as listed on Dell website? Can you actually display contents from 2 different PCs at the same time using this PIP feature. Thanks!
Hey bro, can I use two pcs Mac and windows, and connect via USB C from to Usb C as a display and get charging? I know it can do to one USB C. Not sure two?
Hello, what about RJ45 connexion speed ? Do you have the same speed through the monitor RJ45 than when connected directly to the Macbook ? Even when the monitor is charging at 90W and do you keep 60HZ refresh rate ? Is the bandwidth big enough to everything at the same time ?
I'm using a macbook pro 16inch 2019 and it's 96watt, and i read this monitor is 90watt is it possible to charge the macbook at the same time? Thank you
Hi there, fantastic review and I purchased one for my MBP based on your recommendation. I just have one small issue with it and that's when I select the USB-C to prioritise high-resolution, the screen goes black and doesn't seem to work...the only way to fix this is via a hard power reset. Would you be able to shed some wisdom on how I could take advantage of the high-resolution setting / fix this issue? Thanks
Can you tell me how you got vertical mode to work? I've rotated my monitor as such, but everything is still showing in the other direction. I feel like there's a setting I'm missing, but can't find it
Again, BackLight Bleding! I hate this shit. Ninety out of a hundred monitors have this defect. I have returned at least 10 monitors with this defect. Monitor manufacturers should now be able to solve this problem. Really, Enough! ( Thanks for great review )
Esse teste de sala escura e sangramento de luz é ótimo e talvez um dos mais importantes, mas é algo raro alguém fazer. Isso ajuda demais na comparação com outros monitores.
Olá amigo. Você possui o monitor do vídeo (Dell U2723QE)?
Make sure you change the settings in the monitor for USB-C Prioritisation to High Resolution. If you keep it at High Data Speed, it will run at 30Hz over USB-C.
Hi. So today I bought this monitor and hooked it up to my 16” macbook pro with usb-C pd. Upon downloading the dell desktop manager, it shows it is only giving 1080p resolution. I figured it out to change by clicking alt + scale in the display setting and changed the resolution to 3840 x 2160. However everything is now really small like the UI and letters. For example RU-vid UI looks like it is zoomed out 150 - 200%.
I had this problem with an older MacBook. I thought the monitor was faulty but it was actually that my MacBook gpu wasn't strong enough to display the resolution properly. Newer m1 mac minis etc can. Older ones cannot
1080p (Hidpi) is the best mode for text and UI clarity. Native 4k comes second but as you've already realized the UI becomes too small. You should have more Hdpi options for resolutions in between but the scaling will not be perfect (it will not look as sharp) and it will also introduce a slight performance hit. I would keep it at 1080p if I were you.
I'm thinking of getting this monitor to connect to my macbook. Forgive my silly question, but can I connect wired keyboard and sound bar straight to this monitor, or it has to be connected to macbook? I never had a dest setup, so I have no clue what connect to what lol
i set color description file to display p3 at mbp14,standard color mode at 2723,but 2723 show more green than mac, especially when show white color like 4:45
@@emahadzistojanova2244 for mac, there are only handful 2-3 monitors that can display with native resolution. but they all cost a lot like mac 27" Studio display or LG 5k ultrafine 27" display. All other displays need to have non-native software scaled resolution if you want things to look the right size.
This monitor is driving me insane because you can't lock the rotation in a perfectly horizontal position, it always seems lop sided. It also wobbles allot when I type.
@@TechWallsReview given the physical size difference, do they not equate to the same looking sharpness? I find it hard to believe the smaller screen would be technically sharper.
Curious if anyone is having the same experience or could give their opinion on what is happening with my Dell U2723QE. I recently set it up with a Mac mini. Whenever it goes to sleep or sometimes when I power up I get a generic pop up stating it's scanning for hdmi signal, then it will state no hdmi signal and then the screen will either power up or sleep. I bought a new hdmi cord from Apple, the Belkin 4k high speed, so it should be good quality. It is 6 feet, so I guess it takes longer. When I wake it from sleep, it takes about 8 seconds, which seems slow when compared to a 100% apple setup. Is it normal to get these pop-ups stating no hdmi signal? The back also seems loose around the power button, so I will request a replacement, but I'm curious if the hdmi situation will stay the same. I'd love to hear others' experiences combining the Dell with Mac. Thanks.
