The back facing power button and the joy stick is the ideal position. I never use the power button, monitor is powered 24x7. I once had a sticky wonky power button after two years of use on my previous Dell, fortunately in warranty.

Bought this monitor a couple of weeks ago and use it professionally everyday, I'm not interested in gaming. It's a perfect monitor in every way & that 10Gbps USB 3.2 x 2 Hub with Ethernet is one of the best features over every other monitor. I love the blacks on this, especially on dark mode using CAD. For non-gaming use the 60Hz refresh rate is perfectly fine, anything more else seems overkill for an office monitor. Don't hesitate to invest in this monitor if you're not gaming, can't recommend it enough.

My setup for the past few years has been a Dell XPS 15 9650, TB16 Thunderbolt 3 dock, and a pair of Dell P2715Q monitors (plus excellent Logitech mouse and keyboard). I just replaced the laptop, dock and monitors with an XPS 17 9720 and a pair of the smaller version of this monitor: the 27-inch U2723QE. In short - these are excellent. The extra contrast helps even the smallest text and details crisp and more visible. No more need for a dock: a single USB-C cable carries 90W to the laptop, gigabit networking and the video back to the daisy chained monitors. I've got gorgeous color and 4k at 60z on all three screens. Not a gaming monitor at that speed, but brilliant for work (I'm a CTO), content creation, content consumption and collaboration. I've also freed up significant desk space... BTW: keyboard is G915 TKL and mouse is MX Master 3S. Love this setup.

Just thought I'd add that this monitor, as well as the 27" variant, can not be daisy chained on the Mac. It is an issue on Apple's end; they simply don't want to support MST (multi-stream transport) at the OS level. Note that you can still use a dock to achieve single cable nirvana or simply connect both monitors directly to your mac.

@@chrisw1927 Yes, I have been using it for a few months. It's one of the best 4k designer monitors out there. Apple Studio display is better but it's more expensive. You need a very study desk for it else it will wobble. There's no ambient light sensor so you will have to manually adjust the brightness. The latter one is a nuisance but I am getting used to it. Just bought one today on sale for NZD$1150. The 32 inch version. Replaces a Dell 27 USB-C 2K monitor that was pretty good. Anyway, this monitor is perfect, and easy to split screen. I use it primarily for my day job as a Software Developer, so need decent screen real estate for multiple tools open and visible at the same time e.g. IDE, runtime software, specs, database tools, monitoring logs etc. Great review, even if I watched it after I bought it, it reaffirmed it as the good choice. P.S. I think the rear power button and menu joystick is great - super easy to use, and really, they are low use functions anyway. Thanks!

Using type C it will always prioritize video first but if you use an internet cable with it, depending on the bus size supported by the laptop, it may cut download speeds a bit, but it really depends. I used to use a lenovo Yoga 7 pro and that used to suffer in download speed (getting about 650 Mbps/s instead of 950+). Changed the laptop to a Yoga 9i Pro and the issue is gone. So I think it's not really the monitor it could be the size of the bus of the connected device. Using WiFi instead didn't suffer. I use mine with a USB hub in the back and a Corsair RGB mechanical keboard, a conference headset, a high end webcam, mouse, USB connected KEF speakers, they all connect to the laptop just fine with type C only.

How about the PWM LED dimming? Have you gotten eye fatigue? Headaches? Nausea? Apparently, this 32" model uses PWM to control brightness whereas the 27" doesn't. This is a huge dealbreaker. I like everything about this monitor EXCEPT for that. Has anyone else had issues with that? I have an LG 4K TV that uses PWM but I don't seem to be affected by it, but then again, I'm not working on a TV except to check footage. I'm curious to know anyone else's experience with this. UPDATE: I bought this monitor after I got this answer from Dell: "DellRR · 6 months ago Hi Mr. Honesty, Dell UltraSharp 32 4K USB-C Hub Monitor - U3223QE uses DC dimming rather than PWM(pulse width modulation) to lower the brightness. The monitor's resolution is 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz. You may read more about frequencies on User Guide dell.to/3wUlbti For further purchase assistance, please contact Dell USA Sales at dell.to/3PmXvq0 -Abdul@Dell" This can be seen on the following webpage: www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-ultrasharp-32-4k-usb-c-hub-monitor-u3223qe/apd/210-bdph/monitors-monitor-accessories I bought it have been using it for about 6 months. The day I got his response is the day I bought it. I paid about $850 or so. Dell matched another retailer and gave me 1 year same as cash financing. It is fantastic for color grading photos and video. There is no noticeable flicker, so the Dell rep may have been telling the truth. For a while I believed it was PWM but that was according to another reviewer but perhaps something changed since his review. So far, it delivers as stated in this video. I used a color profile using the i1 Profiler and calibrated it to Gamma 2.2 @100 nits (more like 102). Colors are just vibrant as you'd expect. The HDR mode is great but I am delivering mostly in SDR. Blacks are black and whites are white. It is very color accurate and works great with Resolve, C1Pro, Luminar, and Lightroom. The clarity is very profound and footage from my A7SIII looks spectacular.

Planning to set this up in the near future with a (soon-to-be updated?) Mac Mini and although the reviews have been universally outstanding, I'm a bit worried about the scaling. From what I've read, Mac OS achieves best results if your PPI is either around 218 (like the Apple Studio Display) or 110. This monitor apparently is approx. 140 PPI, which put's it into the "bad zone" according to the Sven Neuhaus PPI calculator. So the question is, am I going to regret getting this to pair with a MAC device?

@justicefreeman6598
@justicefreeman6598 9 месяцев назад
3223QE is not designed to be a gaming monitor, it only has 60Hz and gamers usually want 120/144/165Hz. Having 120Hz with 4K is not common as you need good GPU for that. That's why for gaming you would need 120Hz FHD or QHD. Still, if you don't care about winning but about fun than you of course can use the monitor.

That's more of an issue with macos than any one monitor. At 27" 4K, it doesn't bother me, because 200% scaling works well enough at that size. At 32" I'd want an intermediate scaling ratio and expect it wouldn't work well.

What cable do i use to daisy chain? the mini Display port cable? Also, can i plug in my key board, mouse and external hard drive to this monitor and run its off just the one usb c input cable?

You need at least DP1.2 IN for daisy-chaining on the last monitor in the chain or DP1.2 IN and OUT on first and every other in between. For second question you definitely can when you connect your computer to USB-C upstream port and other peripherals to USB-A downstreams.

I bought the 27" version of this monitor from Dell and it had terrible back light bleeding so much so I returned it, the production date was July 2022. It wasn't too bad when set at 70% brightness but when you turned it to 90 or 100 when gaming for example it was terrible. This reviewer said the back light didn't bleed on this particular 32" but he didn't mention if he turned up the brightness at all. There are a slew of complaints about this issue on Amazon. Dell's own software for these moniters is pretty good for you can use it to increase brightness without touching the moniter Now I'm thinking maybe the 32" doesn't have this problem. ???? To anyone who owns this 32" version can you comment on that please ???

@murdockscott
@murdockscott Год назад
@@floriandekret2088 It has been great so far. I can highly recommend it for photography. Keep in mind that I came from using an Apple Thunderbolt Display, so 4k, modern color, and 32 inches made it a significant upgrade for me, but I have had absolutely zero complaints about the build or the color accuracy. The massive amount of connectivity has been wonderful and has really helped with the large amount of legacy peripherals I have for music, input, and storage. It was nice to avoid buying and expensive dock/hub.

I got mine yesterday. It's nice and all but the DPBS function is absolute crap if you have more than one computer connected to it and if one of the computers is hooked up via usb c. If I turn my laptop off (usb c) and start using my desktop, the screen will then turn off also. Both computers have to be turned on.
