I have this setup using 8x Intel P3600 U.2 NVME 2TB drives which I used for Storage Spaces Direct for a few months via HBA330 instead of the H730 RAID. Now that I want to scrap the setup and test Starwind vSAN but want to test it with RAID swapping the HBA330 with the H730. It appears that the RAID is not possible with U.2 NVME drives. I can't even get the S140 to see the drives although all 8x drives are shown in the bios. I have set SATA to RAID & NVME to RAID. The S140 won't detect any of the P3600. All drives show up in server 2022 as well. Any idea how to get RAID to work with the 8x drives? Preferably hardware RAID if there's one available.
@@wilfredodice7972 I’ve encountered a similar issue. I’m using Intel P4510 NVMe SSDs, and only the S140 RAID controller supports NVMe RAID. However, the S140 doesn’t support the P4510. My R640 server only supports PCIe 3.0, The S140 documentation lists supported models that are PCIe 4.0, but I believe there might be some PCIe 3.0 models that could work but haven’t been demonstrated yet. I need more information on this to test.
