People whinging about no USB, etc... Jesus christ, get with it. It's meant to be an ultra portable. You take it with you, you have a wireless mouse, most likely Bluetooth. You bring it home, you Dock it. Boom, sorted. Want extra connections? Get the xps 15.
Diana DKJ Have you tried disabling Killer Advanced Stream Detect? Running diagnostics? How about updating the drivers; uninstalling drivers; reinstalling drivers?
@@tech_realm yes, I did everything. I also called dell tech support and the guy said he couldn't help me, that I have to pay $100 to get help because it's a software issue😒
@@dianadkj2556 Could you also specify _everything_ you have done so far to fix the WiFi issues? From there, I would know what you haven't and already have done. Thank you.
Right! that's what I thought because I just bought it. I've read that these laptops always have wifi connectivity issues. yesterday I updated the drivers, ran diagnostics and the guy from dell did the same thing and it did not solve the problem, but today I disabled Killer Advanced Stream Detect. So far it has not disconnected! really appreciate your help!
I think Dell is pushing the tolerance limit on the smaller form factor and this is maybe a step too far. I get that some demographic value aesthetics more than I do, but practicality is lost when we narrow the laptop just to get thinner bezels. I think they should have gone with the old chassis size (or slightly bigger) and had a 14-inch display. This will enable a better keyboard and taller trackpad with maybe a bigger battery and better thermals. We should not lose sight that this enables our workflow and for most of us how pretty it is should not be the main feature. Battery life for real work seems just about acceptable but is below my expectation. I agree, 15:9 is much preferable as I rarely do not have at least a split-screen and if you hide your shelf you can get a bit more height space. I still have no idea why a notebook like this has a glossy screen, who thinks that is better than anti-glare? Speakers seem average but better than the previous version. It is too expensive and if you want this wait for some deals. This refresh doesn't really excite and there are a few 10th gen notebooks that I would prefer even at this early stage of that cycle. Thanks.
Why would you turn on the keyboard backlight when it's bright out? (Actually, I think keyboard backlights are unnecessary in general since no one actually looks at their keyboard when they type.)
+$0 for 1080p non-touch matte display with raised border +$100 for 1080p touch glossy display (review model for this video) +$300 for 4K touch glossy display
Super cool, but no common USB 3.1 at least one! And no HDMI I mean at least 2 ports more..... If I forgot the dongle I am screwed. For that price it is crazy! Too expensive...
