Streams and boat answer is wrong. Correct answer will be 9. 5 = (40/20+x) + (40/20-x) 5(20^2 - x^2) = 1600 x = 8.94 ~ 9

In the first Q the hcf and lcm of two numbers are 12 and 20 respectively. Give that one of the number is 6. It's known that a number is always divisible by it's hcf. Since 6 is not divisible by hcf(i.e 12) so Q is wrong conceptually. Theory - Any factor always divides the number and hcf is highest factor.
