A short video presentation comparing the DeLonghi ECAM 350.55.B and ECAM 350.75.S bean to cup coffee machines on specification and also looking at pricing. What are the main differences?
Update: Curry PC World now have the ECAM 350.55.B on sale for £549 www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/household-appliances/small-kitchen-appliances/coffee-machines-and-accessories/coffee-machines/delonghi-dinamica-ecam-350-55-b-bean-to-cup-coffee-machine-black-10181428-pdt.html
I have the DeLonghi Dinamica Plus Tips I've learned (Mostly from Mr. JAMES HOFFMAN, thank you!) and tested to acquire the best espresso (so far): 1. Only dry beans (oily beans clog the espresso machine) 2. No dark roasted beans (they are burnt; usually to hide imperfections) 3. The best taste occurs between 4-14 days from the time they are roasted (this is "resting the coffee" because the beans have to off-gas CO2) 4. To avoid watery espresso, dial a low grind/fine size (1,2,3,4) and fresh beans (before 1 month of roast date), this produces a thicker espresso 5. Lowest grind setting for DeLonghi Dinamica Plus machine is at a "3" (because any lower/finer chokes the machine) Thus, my optimal espresso Latte (iced) configuration is: -Five beans 🫘 (strongest intensity), - small ☕️ or medium size ☕️☕️ cup, -with dry medium-roasted beans, that were -roasted about 1-2 weeks ago -Vanilla Syrup (2 pumps or 1 table spoon for every small shot of espresso) -Half & Half Cream *pour cream until espresso resembles golden camphor burl wood *Add ice
Peter Istrate - personal Agreed, it took me some time to research but I think the comparison is about right and hopefully answers the question for people wanting to choose. The prices however are always changing. Thanks for your comment.
Purchased ECAM 350.55 today at Costco and saved myself $400 off! Does everything I require, Great Machine and upgrade from the Magnifica. Thanks again!
Cheers, was going to get the .75 version. One thing I have been seeing (reading) is milk coffees aren’t that hot. Could you tell me how they are please? I don’t want a piping hot coffee, but like hot hot, l 😂,I currently have a hot water descender that puts out 250ml of hot (burns you but isn’t boiling) water and that does the job. So if it’s going to be that hot then I will be happy.
Hi JCRocky5, thanks for your comment. Unfortunately what you are reading about not getting hot hot coffee is true. I like mine hot too, but these machines, like the other fully automatic DeLonghi machines don't seem to have the ability to provide piping hot water, maybe to do with the single burner, I'm not sure (ESAM have dual burners). As I like to have my coffee black, it's no problem for me, you can adjust the setting to maximum and this is fine for me to drink immediately. The other issue is with milk based drinks, these come out a lot cooler and I find that pre-warming the cups with boiling water or 30secs in the microwave helps, although I know you shouldn't have to! I hope this helps.
Lee Austin thank you, yeah I may hold off till I can do more research. A lot of dosh to spend on a coffee machine and I want to to last and actually give me a hot coffee 😂
The 55.B says it is WiFi capable. Does this mean you can setup for this to be automated or triggered by Alexa etc? I am looking for a bean to cup machine which I can set to trigger based on rules using Alexa and IFTTT. Any help appreciated
Hi there, Yes you can! Just select the MyMenu button and you can program your selected drink by selecting the aroma strength and then the amount of water dispensed. This is then programmed and saved for next time.
Hi Alena - they are both great coffee machines for sure! The 23.460 is the older model which doesn't offer the full selection of drinks that the 350.75 will give you, like Long coffee, flat white and cafe latte. And if you prefer touch buttons with a fully automated system and ground coffee ability then the 350.75 allows for this, so for your money you will get a lot more from the 350.75. However it's all down to personal choice, they both have the Latte-Crema system which is fantastic.
Hi, Thank you for taking the time to comment. The Cappuccino+ is a creamy cappuccino made with a shot of Doppio+. Doppio+ is more than a double espresso made with an extra quantity of coffee powder. Hope this helps.
