You beauty! This is the ONLY source I have found for this problem. My machine gave the initial blast of water when switched on and made the mechanical sounds as normal and the correct lights came on. I pressed for coffee and it ground, sat there for about 30 seconds and then finished with ZERO water/coffee coming through. Looking in the machine, it had the dry ground powder it tried to sweep into the bin and the rest scattered around inside. Your solution WORKED! One little tip, to get the clip off, you don't need to use a screwdriver or knife, just slide that part of the infuser down and then you can easily unclip using fingers. I didn't have the grease so I just cleaned it up some and slid the moving parts up/down a few times - they are still stiff. However it worked for now. I will get some food grade grease and finish it up properly. Top man, thanks mate!
Solution worked. My machine was grinding coffee and it was backing up into the funnel and into the bypass dozer bay. It would then immediately discard. I took the hopper and grinder apart thinking it was clogged, but after 12 years, it was nearly mint. Cleaned everything really good except this. I can’t figure out why this was causing the issue other than maybe it extends upwards into the infuser and the gunk and lack of grease was preventing it. Very simple fix that resulted in coffee being made immediately. Thanks!
Thanks so much. I have a slightly different model (probably older than yours), but your instructions really helped. I went from loose grounds to a nicely formed puck after following your instructions. By the way, I didn't have any new O rings or grease on hand (I'm ordering some though) and just switched the top for the bottom O ring. The bottom one was in better shape, so that will keep me in coffee until the new O rings arrive.
My guess is that the infuser was not installed correctly before you made this video. At the bottom end of the cylinder that's running through the infuser, there's a hole on the back side. When you place and click the infuser back into position after having it removed for cleaning or whatever reason, this hole should be placed over a notch that's inside the machine. Failing to place the hole over the notch will leave the inside of the infuser motionless, and lead to the machine not making pucks. It's a good idea to clean the infuser every now and then, and to put some lube on the o-rings, but even dry and dirty o-rings will not prevent this machine from making excellent coffee and pucks. As long as the infuser was installed correctly. By the way: thank you for listing the music you used for this video in the description. I wish everyone would do this.
has anyone got more than 8months use before it needs loads of repairs ?? mine is total shyte and the security Torx screws are a mystery to find the size
