DeLorean DMC-12 in Movies BEFORE Back to the Future - Everyone always associates the DeLorean DMC-12 car with the time travel film Back to the Future. Some people still think it was made purely for that film. So in this weeks video i'm going to look at films that featured the DeLorean before Back to the Future.

► About DeLorean DMC-12
The DMC DeLorean (often referred to simply as the "DeLorean" before back to the future, as it was the only model ever produced by the company) is a sports car manufactured by John DeLorean's DeLorean Motor Company (DMC) for the American market from 1981 through 1983. The car was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro and stood out for its gull-wing doors and brushed stainless-steel outer body panels, as well as an innovative fiberglass body structure with a steel backbone chassis. It became widely known for its disappointing lack of power and performance, which did not match the expectations created by its looks and price tag, but it became iconic for its appearances as the time machine in the Back to the Future media franchise after 1985.
Throughout production, the car was generally unchanged, although minor modifications were made to such parts as the hood and wheels. The first production car was completed on January 21, 1981. About 9,000 DeLoreans were made before production halted in late December 1982, long before Back to the Future was made.
In 1995, Stephen Wynne from Liverpool created a separate company based in Texas using the DeLorean Motor Company name. Wynne acquired the trademark on the stylized DMC logo, along with the remaining parts inventory of the original DeLorean Motor Company. The company rebuilds cars at its Humble, Texas, location using a combination of new old stock (NOS) parts, original equipment manufacturer (OEM), and reproduction parts on a made-to-order basis.
► Time travel
Time travel is the concept of movement between certain points in time, analogous to movement between different points in space by an object or a person, typically with the use of a hypothetical device known as a time machine. Time travel is a widely recognized concept in philosophy and fiction, particularly science fiction. The idea of a time machine was popularized by H. G. Wells's 1895 novel The Time Machine. This was all way before back to the future of course.
It is uncertain if time travel to the past is physically possible. Forward time travel, outside the usual sense of the perception of time, is an extensively observed phenomenon and well-understood within the framework of special relativity and general relativity. However, making one body advance or delay more than a few milliseconds compared to another body is not feasible with current technology. As for backward time travel, it is possible to find solutions in general relativity that allow for it, such as a rotating black hole. Traveling to an arbitrary point in spacetime has very limited support in theoretical physics, and is usually connected only with quantum mechanics or wormholes.
