Love it or hate it, it's a piece of automotive history & I think people look back over 40 years later more fondly than they will when Elon's stainless steel machine gets to that age.

It was a poorly built/designed car when new, a two seat "sports car" with a pathetic 130hp heavy engine in the rear like a vw bug, prone to overheat, etc. Without Back to the Future, it would be ignored like a Bradley GT or Saab. The gull wing doors are the only cool thing about it. It looked good in 1985. The Corvette looked great in 1985 and still does.
