Beautiful old quality machine and you gave her the respect that she deserves. A true restoration....not just lipstick on a pig. Now better than factory new with motor and belt upgrades.

This little band saw has turned out to be the best tool purchase I've ever made ru-vid.comUgkx5ZrqmYO2uJq_nuU8TopyWxVzn8vqmPUL Once doing the set-up as per the included suggestions, this table top tool has been my go-to saw ever since (8 months as of this review). There are few things I wouldn't attempt with this saw. It takes up much less space than my table saw yet delivers twice as much punch. I've used it to create slices of wood no thicker than an 1/16th of inch by using the POWERTEC BS900RF Rip Fence. For small shop projects this tool can't be beat.

That "Lower Assembly" is the Trunnion. I know because I had to replace mine on my 10-325 Rikon a few weeks ago. I bought the saw for $140 cause the trunnions are no longer available for my year saw, 2012. So I machined one at my work and now I have a restored $1200 14" Rikon 10-325 Vertical Band saw. Yay me.

have an old delta 14 inch bandsaw. I lost the ("pin"?) that holds the motor driven wheel which turns a belt. The wheel slides on a bar, and this bar has a slot where this pin goes into, to hold the wheel in a place. Your video shows the bottom wheel (time 638)with the slot and pin.

I have the Rockwell/Delta 28-380 version and let me tell ya, the early version of the 2 speed gearbox seems way better. I have no idea why they changed to the internal shaft within the upper pulley shaft. The 140w oil gums up and will seize the shifter. The lever just seems way simple and easy.

Wow, I love that saw. I just bought the same one, vintage 1955, last week, with the open stand, that enclosed stand you have is the best, mind telling us what you paid for it. Also, been looking at manuals on Vintage Machinery, absolutely need to remove he belt on transmission when in high speed mode,I believe later saws could keep both belts on, but manual I’m reading is very clear about it, can’t run both belts at same time. Beautiful saw, you did a fantastic job.

Did you ever post a video about the motor repair or share a link to what resources you used for the motor repair? I'm having a similar problem with a 1/4hp Delta Scroll Saw motor from the 1940s. Repair shops are telling me to replace the motor, but I'd really like to keep the original with the tool if at all possible.

I have an old Jet band saw, practically this saws sibling. I sure do wish I could find a base like this one for mine. My saw has a base made from thin angle iron, that bends rather easily. I'm going to try making a new base for it from 4x4's and 2x4's. If that doesn't work out, I'm trying to teach myself how to weld, maybe I'll weld up a new base for the saw as my first welding project. EDIT..........I actually just found the same base your band saw has on eBay for the low low low price of only $880, and it's local pickup only. AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH NO!!!! Looks like I'm going to try building one.

There should have a pin in the hole in the front of table. The hole is in the center of the slot on the edge of the table. The pin keeps the table aligned on each side of the slot. It prevents the slots from moving up and down warping because of heat change etc. The pin has a hex head on it , it is slightly tapered. I think it would have been a nice detail to have painted the black hand made cover on the motor. It stands out being black.

My old dad has 3 Delta/rockwell saws. Industrial and old but prolly a decade or 2 newer than that one. Bandsaw blade snapped. Utube seems to say I need silver sauder to repair it. Scroll saw needs a new blade. His old Delta table saw is really heavey, solid and sturdy, the most beautiful table saw I have ever used in my life. It makes alot of newer saws with plastic parts and less power feel like toys

@jimthesoundman8641
@jimthesoundman8641 4 года назад
@@partsandresto I would just go on Amazon and read the reviews. There are tons of different brands between $20 and $40. Just be aware that most of them are omnidirectional. So they pick up sound from all directions equally, that means traffic noises, air conditioners, etc might end up being a problem, but you can usually work around that. If you spend a bit more you can get a unidirectional cardioid version which only picks up straight in front of it. Those are generally better, but they sometimes have drawbacks also, like if you turn your head away from the mic, the volume will drop. That also can be worked around if you know how to use a compressor/limiter plugin during editing. The good thing about Amazon is they are pretty liberal with returns, if you don't like the one you bought, send it back.
