Your reviews are great. I am hopping on a former Latam A350 tomorrow from Atlanta to Dublin, and this video was great at setting some expectations. Thanks!!
Great review! I've seen so much about the Delta One Seats (not suites) on the former LATAM A350s, but it's also great to see how the C+ and economy cabin look.
Thank you. It’s a pretty comfortable Comfort Plus with the drawback in my opinion being a little smaller tray table and the footstool. Delta One is a downgrade on this aircraft for most as the seats are 2-2-2 but those seats do feel more spacious to sleep but severely lack the privacy of Delta One Suites.
I always enjoy your reviews. They are always very descriptive and well shot. Also refreshing to see these types of trip repots by someone who looks like me.
I appreciate that. I know their aren’t many of “us” that do this so I hope that others not only enjoy the reviews but see what’s possible in this world.
Just found out I'll be on an ex-LATAM A tree fiddy when I come back from Honolulu in December. Looking forward to checking it out! Thanks for the review!
We are catching that flight next week, coming from San Francisco .I really the economy is no bad going with small kids is difficult enough already. Thanks for the review it was great.
I hope the same for you. I will note the food was much better on my ATL-GRU flight in Economy. You can check out that review to see the option given on that route. Thank you for watching.
I have been eyeing this plane on the SEA-ATL route all summer. Haven't had the right reason to take it, cool to see the differences in economy. Shame about the service, Delta really seemed to be trying to improve long haul service in economy pre-pandemic, clearly not anymore. Thanks Brandon
Interesting. I didn’t know they were using it on SEA-ATL domestically. But I guess they use it on a turn before one of them goes ATL-SCL which I flew it on.
Did you get to see the entertainment center on the first row of economy plus? It looks like there is a tv on the wall and I’m trying to decide if the leg room is worth it..
Did the person in front of you recline their seat? If so, did you still feel like you had plenty of room? Trying to decide if we should book the bulkhead seat or not. Hubby is 6'6!
Flew yesterday from ATL to HNL flight DL837, 9hr 44 minute flight. I’ll try to post some video, but my initial thoughts: The cabin feels very roomy and open as soon as you board. The seats are huge and comfortable, and there is a ton of leg room. Honestly, it’s almost too much. Don’t get me wrong, I really loved the seats, but it almost felt like the foot rest and monitor were a little too far away. It would be nice if they were a little closer so you could just stretch your legs out and put them up, but you have to recline your seat a little bit for your legs to reach the foot rest, which makes it a little difficult to get into a comfortable position to be able to see the monitor. If I was one who never flew first class before you wouldn’t hear me complain one little bit about this, this is definitely first world problems at their finest! even though the monitor is far away, the screen is enormous, so not that big of a deal. There is a remote control right beside you to control your IFE and lighting, and it worked perfectly. The fact that these aren’t suites like typical Delta One definitely makes you feel less private. It would be nice to have a little divider you could pull out, however, they stagger the rows slightly so it’s not like you make eye contact with the person sitting in the row next to you every time you look their way. We were on the outside aisle, and I took the window seat, and the space is open enough that when I needed to get out to use the restroom it was not difficult. Obviously when your seat mate is lying flat it can be tough to step over them, but it is doable. Lie flat was very comfortable. I slept for about four hours total, and the one nice thing about the seats being a little more open was the fact that you didn’t feel like your feet were crammed into a coffin. You could move around, and lay on your side without any issue at all. I am about 5‘11“ and I was extremely comfortable. Overall I really enjoyed the cabin and wouldn’t hesitate to fly this plane again. By the way, this was my first time on the A350, and if there’s one complaint I have about this plane it’s that the lavs are tiny! I’ll be in the Delta suite on the A330-900NEO on the way home so we’ll see if that changes my opinion of this cabin!
The portion of the meal is so tiny. Is it possible to request another one after they've distributed all of the meals to passengers? Also, it's a nit touch they give a bottled water bc bottled water not allowed from latin america to america flight
Yes you can ask for another meal. If they have extra they will likely give it to you. Air France is the only airline where I experienced in Economy Class the flight attendants proactively asked passengers if they wanted seconds.
I will say it depends what an exit row costs. The padding of the seat won’t be any different. Now if Premium Select was offered for $500 then I would do that in a heartbeat.
I mean their is no individual air vent to control your own airflow at your seat. You are at the mercy of the flight crew and how they regulate the temperature for the entire plane. This can be more of an issue on Asian carriers that don’t have individual air vents as they are known to keep their cabins warm.
Hi Brandon, Did you find the cabin warm? How was airflow? My preference is cool. I'm looking at a flight to BCN and Delta will be flying this type aircraft.
Because it generally has less surface area on the two fold tray tables than just a standard Economy tray table on long haul flights. Yes other carriers opted for that tray tables so I would call it unfortunate in any carrier that has this type of tray table because it isn’t as roomy in my opinion as a standard tray table.
I got off the Delta flights last night (Nov16, 2022) round trip to and back between California and Virginia and the only good part was the price. Economy Class, at the gate they assigned my wife and I sat separated in 2 middle seats across the aisle away from each other on the same row. Both fights with other passengers (big body) who paid more for aisle seat trying take over both armrests and shuffling they FAT elbows into my rib cage, it was a long trip with connecting flights at Atlanta, finally I raised the armrest slightly in keeping the fatso next to the aisle from invading my space, in conclusion, beware what you are getting into.
