Vídeo sensacional👏🏼👏🏼 Gosto de aeronaves com motores na cauda, como os B717, MD83, B727. Parabéns pelas imagens.

Thank you for sharing your flight. I see sitting next to the engine is always loud with the engine working. I hope you were ok!! Hahaha!! I have not been that close to an engine since flying on the 727s back in the early 2000s. i was on and working for United Airlines.

Not the last one built. They went up to 799AT. Delta got 700-799 from AirTran.

I would hate to be sitting in that seat if there was an uncontained engine failure.✈

Fantastic video! Flying on a retro jet is really cool, but if I was on it, I’d feel really claustrophobic with that low ceiling and tight seats 😬 The DC9 = B717, so does that mean the MD80/83 was bought by another manufacturer? I see the resemblance between the two aircraft types. Amazing these planes are still going strong! Did it get hot being right next to the engine? Many thanks

I flew in many DC 9s and not hot by engine but loud. Also flew on Air Force C-9 Nightingale MD 80 was a stretch DC 9 with more powerful Engines and was developed into the B 717.

Thank you for your comment Craig ! Yes as Ken says the back of the 717 is not hot but very loud, the sound is very loud both from the engines and strangely also from the air vents that are the noisiest I ever heard. In chronological order Douglas made the DC9 then merged with MC Donnel and an improved and streched new version appered the MD80 family (MD82, 83..) then just before being bought by Boeing MC Donnel Douglas made a modernised and streched version of the MD80 called the MD90 with new engine and a new tail. When Boeing bought MC Donnel Douglas the program changed name again to give birth to the last version of the original DC9, the 717 which has the modern engines and the tail of the latest MD90.

@@MillionMilesMarc fascinating history! Maybe one day I’ll get an opportunity to fly on one. Hawaii I’d love to visit and I know HA have a fleet of 717s as well as Qantas for domestic transcontinental flights. They obviously still have a place in the aviation of today which is testament to the manufacturers. Same with the Canadian market still flying 40 year old 737-200s!!

flew DTW-CLT-DTW last row on this 717 - worst flights ever. Extremely cramped, noisy. Do not reccomend! Last row on DL's A350 was only slightly better.
