Thanks for this video. I replaced a delta sprayer, with the same quick connect coupling and the part of your video showing the quick connect was very helpful. Press on both sides of the clips and pull down to remove. To install, push up until you hear a nice click and pull down slightly to make sure it’s connected. My faucet has a lifetime warranty and they sent me the parts for free. If you have a Delta product, it might be worth contacting for the parts. All good now. 👍🏼

Great demo. Fit my job/problem precisely by showing the Delta “clip”on/off procedure. Saved me time and $$. Thanks again.

I just ran across this video, and I can add a bit of advice. Your old hose originally had an o-ring and a white plastic "back up" ring in the quick connect end of the hose. When you pulled it loose, and subsequently removed it, you may have lost the o-ring, or the back up ring, or both. Without these pieces properly located in the hose end, you would have seen the leak you experienced, regardless of the quick connect "clicking" into place. Your replacement hose had these things properly situated, hence the successful results.

THANK YOU! This is the only information I could find that explains that bizarre connection system. My hose had a leak, I climbed under the sink and saw the mess of a connection and had no idea what to do. I had also seen the replacement hose at Lowe's with that same connector and didn't realize how simple replacing the hose would be. Much appreciated!

Hey buddy, you saved my bacon today. I wasn't replacing the sprayer. I just wanted to change its position from the far right hole to the far left hole. I pulled the hose off the fitting, easy. But, next out fell the two little pieces of plastic and the little spring clip. I could not figure out how the heck to get the plastic pieces and the spring clip on the connector. The key was to get the two pieces/clip on the hose PRIOR to making the connection. With that bit of information, bing, it clipped right in. For this stuff, RU-vid is great. THANKS!

Working under the kitchen sink is by far the most frustrating, difficult and potentially dangerous job in the house. To make things worse, the doors leading to the storage area under the sink usually have a strip of wood down the middle of the cabinet. My sprayer hose cracked this morning which I will try to replace. I removed the dreaded middle wood strip before the cabinet makes me contort my aging body and pushes my blood pressure over 200. Come on designer guys, there must be an easier way to do this kind of work. I have a feeling this equipment was developed by the plumber's union to make thing absurdly difficult for amateurs thus insuring the $400 fees for an hours work.
@DH-mf2lv

Take a piece of wood (1"x1" by one foot long), fasten it in a horizontal position to the vertical water pipes (coming up out of the floor) on the backside right above the fitting that has the quarter inch bolts that you sawed off. That way the sprayer hose will come in contact with the wood and not the quarter inch bolts. You can use tie wraps (zip ties) to secure the wood to the pipes. Thanks for sharing.

I yanked my hose and was frustrated with the leaking water rendering my kitchen sink unusable, but your video saved me time to call the plumber, wait on him and pay him. I have different kind of ring, just I had to push it in. Thanks a lot!

Thanks for the great Delta video! I may decided to cut the 2 hoses, install a barbed 5/16" coupling, add 2 hose clamps to the coupling, and forget the clip joiner.

Delta has a lifetime guarantee on its faucets if you were the original purchaser and owned the home at the time the faucet was installed. They sent me a new sprayer hose assembly free of charge.

Thanks for making this video, I haven't seen any other videos discussing the Delta clip on hose. That info is priceless. I had know idea how that worked. Honestly it still seems too loosey-goosey to me to be a viable connection.

THANK YOU..So many of the Quick Connectors come in a variety of types and had no idea if this Delta clip takes one or two snap rings because the design has two slots as if two snap rings are to be used.

Put some silicone grease on the connection before sliding the connection on to lubricate those rubber o-rings.

Great video! .... The problem with the hose getting stuck can be easily solved by using a piece of coat hanger, bend it into a circle leaving about 2 inches free. The hose will be fed thru the circle and the 2 inch part will be bent around a screw and attached to the back wall. That gives the hose less of an area to move around under the sink!

I would get rid of that saddle valve for your icemaker. They're notorious for corroding and leaking. They make a T fitting for your icemaker that attaches to your cold water line going to the sink where you can attach your flexible line and your icemaker into one fitting. I hope this makes sense.
@CTSCAPER

By the way, instead of the rope solution, a suggestion about keeping the hose from hanging up on stuff. Get yourself the kind of clamp to attach 1/2 inch copper pipe to a wall. It's kind of omega shaped. Take that clamp, put it around the hose, use two screws and attach the clamp/hose to the plywood back wall. Position the clamp as far up the wall as is practical and this will keep your hose away from the stuff hanging it up. Again, thanks for your video!

Hi, thanks for your helpful video!I just want to say that these connectors are a joke.My kitchen sink has several of these and I just finally found some information after many inquiries at the hardware store and searching online.Why didn't Delta just use standard threaded fittings?!? I have multiple lines with this nipple fitting and not being a plumber I have had to use other methods (and many hours wasted) to remedy these issues.I will never buy Delta products in the future! Once again though, I do appreciate the time you took the share this with us.

I think the best way to deal with Delta faucets is to replace them with Kohler. I ordered this part for a replacement and it won't snap on. Pretty basic stuff, but Delta may have 12 versions and l can't find the model number. So tomorrow l rip the Delta out permanently.

Thank you you saved my day. I had the exact same sprayer fitting and same problem with the hose getting caught by the hot water brass hardware that unplugged the sprayer snap in connector. This is basically bad plumbing design. I was able to reuse the old fitting, after i figured out you just press the bottom of the plastic part to open it like a jaw i was able to put it back on. No leaks so far, let's hope it stay as i plan to buy a new faucet in a couple weeks anyway. I don't want to have to buy a new old delta sprayer in the meantime. How much did the new sprayer cost and where did you get it from? I had a different issue a while ago (base of faucet ball and rubber valves leak) and Delta sent me a free a replacement of the hardware for that problem which was a perfect fix, i wonder if they'd also free sent a new sprayer since these faucets are lifetime warranty. They're a great company to do that. I won't bother contacting them if it doesn't break before i replace the faucet.

The pull out line is way too stiff on the Delta Model 174-sswf (I have 2 of those, both are stiff), only could pull out about 6 inches then needed to get under the sink to help push it up. I have multiple Delta pull outs, they are all stiff. The other one is 24902-ss, that one is stiff too. Should not happen as those faucets are over $250 each. Bought it at the same time, maybe just a bad batch of stiff hoses. No problem regarding Price Pfister hoses, very flexible and the counter weight keep it in vertical position.

I don't see one on there. The sealing part may be on the hose, not on the faucet. However, I don't remember. The best way to find out is to put the new part on and see if it leaks. You'll know real quick whether it works or not.

I see this was posted 2017 but in the future you might take a pool noodle and put it around the pipe & screw. Just a thought. It may work. Then the hose would slide up and down the pool noodle instead.

I had the same problem those clips are a waste of time and money.to get the job done once all i did was cut the end off the hose .soak it in hot water for a few seconds to soften it up and just pushed the hose all the way up the fitting from the pipe. then just put a 1/4 to 5/8 worm clamp on it . job done 15 minute work.if i ever have to install a new hose it will be just as easy.delta wants to make money.

Put a large cardboard between the water hose and the screws to separate them so that they won’t hook. This is what I do in my kitchen.

I would love to meet the product designer that thought up this piece of crap. Threaded fittings worked for decades, but there's always some moron that wants to change a good thing. If it wasn't for your video, I would never have gotten the clip back together correctly. I have now ordered a 72" hose to replace the inadequate short hose that came with the faucets. This set up is a disgrace for such an expensive faucet.

The screws are on a "saddle tap". Illegal in many plumbing codes and should be illegal to make or sell the things. They will leak sooner or later.

One service call equal 3 or more dremels. I rather have the dremels. My last service call was for the plumber to locate the sewer line. I had no idea where was located without a cleanout in front of the house and didn't want to get into the nasty crawl space at the other end of the house. Will worth it, plumber knew exactly where to dig. Only charged one hour.

I can't keep my new one from leaking, even after it sounds like it has seated onto the nipple.
@CTSCAPER
@CTSCAPER 6 лет назад
Take several deep breaths. Then, get a flashlight and look at the connection very closely. Something is not right. Perhaps the bands that clamp it on came loose. Perhaps it broke when you were putting it on. Perhaps it's not seated all the way. Perhaps it's not the right part for what you're working on or the piece you're putting it on is broken. There's always a reason and the secret is to keep searching until you find it.
@seed_drill7135
@seed_drill7135 6 лет назад
Perhaps it's because the new hose didn't come with an O ring, but the old one came off with the old faucet.
@CTSCAPER
@CTSCAPER 6 лет назад
You could be onto something there. If you go to a local hardware store they may have an o-ring assortment you can choose a few close to the right size and see which one fits. If you get it on watch it for a while to make sure it doesn't leak.
